Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Time for Mahrez to step up Badly need 3 points here... He is due a corker of a game, this could be the oneOr away at Old Trafford
UPinCarolina Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Forgot about this. So who else for the bench then? Assuming Ulloa for Vardy. Schwarzer, Wasilewski, Amartey, King, Gray, Schlupp... + Dodoo? Chilwell? Inler? Muskwe? I'd have to think it's one of either Chilwell or Inler.
Father Ted Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 I want to see Schlupp from the beginning for this, whether it's out wide or up top in place of Vardy.
The Railway Man Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 I want to see Schlupp from the beginning for this, whether it's out wide or up top in place of Vardy. Up front no chance, we can't have someone with his composure in front of goal in a match this big, he could have 3-4 golden chances and fluff them all. I think we might chage it a bit for this game, our style will have to be a bit different without Vardy. I think Okazaki comes out as well, we push Mahrez up a bit behind Ulloa and bring in either Gray or Schulpp on the wing.

I'd agree with this, though as we've been using the same system all season changing makes me a little anxious.
The Railway Man Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 I'd agree with this, though as we've been using the same system all season changing makes me a little anxious. Same, but we're clearly going to be playing a team with ten behind the ball here, it makes little sense to go with speed instead of height IMO, we'll be tossing balls in the box all day long just like Southampton, West Brom and Norwich. Let's have someone in the box to get on the end of them.
inckley fox Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Either Swansea will sit deep, like others recently, and we'll be able to whip dangerous balls into Ulloa, or they'll advance a little more and we'll be able to push Mahrez/Kante/Albrighton/Schlupp forward to offer a bit of Vardy-esque pace on the break. Schlupp, especially, could offer a threat, and if he can get behind them and make those runs to the by-line, we'll create chances. As I've said before, we've not had to deal without Vardy much but when we have, we've posed a goal threat. Take the West Ham cup game with Ulloa up front, or the Spurs cup game when Ulloa partnered Okazaki for the second half. Or the Spurs league game when we snatched it with Vardy off the field. Or the late surge on Sunday. We have played 96 league minutes this season with 11 men without Vardy, and we're 2-1 up over that time period, we still pose a major goal threat, and one which sides don't always know how to cope with. On top of that we'll still have the back line that kept five clean sheets on the bounce, still have Drinkwater and Kante in the middle, still have Mahrez - who will do well if we need him to join the attack more, drift into the centre of the field, play on the break. That and there'll be a determination to prove a point, if we channel that sense of injustice well, it could give us the win and, therefore, the belief that the same set of players can get a result at Old Trafford. A lot hinges on this, but we can beat Swansea and beat them well with the players available. Just as we can lose, as other top sides have, if we're too negative. The fans have a big role here. And if we win, it should be a timely reminder for us and Spurs that - regardless of how immense Spurs might look - they don't play us, they can't impact on our results, and they can't catch us if we manage to get the points.
Gerard Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Schlupp has to play for me so we have some real pace in the side. If Ulloa is up top I'd like to see Albrighton play on the right to get some crosses in for him and play to his strengths. That leaves Mahrez as No 10. What Ranieri decides to do I don't know but it seems obvious to me what the team should be but in Claudio we trust. Maybe the team will selected with a thought of playing 3-4-1-2 at the 70min mark if we need to get a goal? Bring on Okazaki for Simpson at some point?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 In Claudio we trust The Italian Stalion will get it right for this game Up the Ranners Up the Foxes
AKCJ Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 If Spurs beat West Brom (which is very likely) and we fail to beat Swansea, Spurs become favourites for the league imo. blah blah blah doom mongering blah blah blah pessimism blah blah blah bleak blah blah blah doom and gloom It's all i've been fecking reading since we scored a last minute equaliser. it's almost like we're not 5 points clear with 4 games to go.
Kendal Fox Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 I don't see why not Schluppinator has got blistering pace to be fair Yeah. I'm assuming he's close to full fitness too. You'd think he's had a go on the training ground trying to replicate Vards. Fingers crossed anyways!!

It's 1/2 Leicester 13/8 Spurs now so if that situation happened I'm pretty sure as well Spurs would move into favouritism.
The Railway Man Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 If if if, yawn, we will win Let's hope, I think we will as well. DennisNedry isn't wrong though, if we failed to win and Spurs did we're second favourites with the bookies Monday night.
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 The more I think about this game, the more I'm liking the idea of starting with ulloa and okazaki - with okazaki playing the more advanced role or even switching roles as the game develops. Okazaki does have enough pace to keep defenders wary, and we can create chances through other means. Obviously don't see them both playing for the 90. I think as long as we keep calm, show the same desire we have shown previously, we should take this. Kante had one of his worse performances I've seen last game, but still was good and hopefully Drinkwater will run the show. I expect both of these to really push us on in this game. Swansea a decent side shouldn't let the Newcastle result fool us into thinking they are easy. We will have to earn the victory

DennisNedry isn't wrong though, if we failed to win and Spurs did we're second favourites with the bookies Monday night. I never claimed that he was wrong, merely that it's a pretty pathetic attitude to have considering we're currently 5 points clear.
dpjfox Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 We could use Gray or Schlupp to replace Vardy if CR thinks pace is the best option , but im sure he will make the right team selection.. imo its vital to keep a decent points gap, if it drops below 5 then i will start to get concerned, a good win/performance here will hopefully disrupt the confidence of the watching Tottenham players
ARM1968 Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Tell you what. If we do best Seansea and are 5 or more points ahead with three games left I think we'll win the title. Not much Spurs can do.

But you were 7 points clear with 5 games to go; just do the maths
TJB-fox Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Wow I'm so nervous about this. First time this season in scared. 1-1
tsintskaro Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 No words about Dyer,he should be considered too,as a second half substitution
weller54 Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Hope it's not 1-1 ...if it is we won't win the title.
