Where's Nigel?

Would be lovely to hear from him, even if its a short statement to a journo.

He must be incredibly proud of what he built here and our achievements since he left.

He probably doesn't want to be seen to be reflecting in the glory, but let him as he deserves to.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he was bitter as **** about all this tbh

It would surprise me greatly.

I'm sure he'd appreciate the irony of having built a great squad and then seen another manager take them to a higher level and achieve glory. I'd be astonished if he was bitter about it, though. He might have been bitter about his sacking at the time, but I imagine that he's moved on from that by now - and would be pleased for "his" old players/colleagues and proud of his brilliant contribution, on which Claudio has built so brilliantly.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall if NP and Claudio ever meet, though. I bet there'd be a lot of mutual respect and would expect them to get on well - two pragmatic idealists, just with slightly different personalities.  :)

Hasn't ever come across as bitter in anything in the past so I doubt that.

Twice this season he has spoken to the media and reminded them that he was our manager before Claudio. Does anyone really need to hear it again? Not for me. I'd much rather hear more from the staff and players at the club who have just won us the premier league title.

The man's a mystery. He'll only be found if and when he wants to be found. I can imagine him wanting to let Claudio and the lads enjoy their moment, so he won't get asked the usual 'How much of this success is down to you'?

On RL Stringer was interviewing a chap outside the KP tuesday night and when he paid tribute to Pearson he just went 'yeah' and changed the subject really quickly. Not really impressed with that, I didn't listen to the whole show but hoped they gave him the due credit.

Yep wouldn't surprise me if he's switched his phone off since Monday night, probably has about 300 voicemail messages!

Apart from when he said there were certain people at the club he wouldn't be happy for if we won the title

So what if he is a little bitter? He's an honourable bloke who gave his all for this club and I for one will always be grateful for what he built here. I'm sure Claudio would agree

Credit for what? Last season, apart from managing to stay up, which was more a credit to the determination of the players (as shown this year), was abysmal. He had no plan B for anything, a refusal to play Albrighton, reluctance to play in a way that would've suited Vardy and failure to change a formation when it wasn't working.

He was/is obstinate and arrogant.

I don't blame him for being slightly bitter. I think we all would be in that situation. He had just pulled off the biggest great escape ever, and then got sacked under very awkward circumstances that he probably didn't agree with. That said, I'm sure he is happy for all the lads - I don't see why he'd have beef with them.

Did we ever celebrate Brian Little for laying the foundations O'Neill had to work with, or Mark McGhee for clearing off and causing O'Neill to come in the first place? Micky Adams got promoted with a squad that was inherited from Peter Taylor but do we give Taylor credit for that?

Of course we don't, Pearson was up there with the best managers we've ever had, but he's gone and that was his fault and no one else's.

This title is down to Claudio and no one else.

He's probably off on a relaxing trip, unwinding in some Romanian mountains fighting wild dogs again.

It should be noted that some of the interviews with the existing staff have given mention to Nigel and the foundations he laid.

Additionally, not even Claudio would make the claim you have that this is down to him and no-one else - the whole thing behind our success is how the whole operation works as a team, with Claudio respecting the input from the expert staff on areas they specialise on.

Clearly, Claudio has added an additional specialised area given his vast experience and knowledge on tactical areas, but Claudio has repeatedly said how impressed he was with the setup when he got here. And it's a fair question, had these things not been in place, would Claudio have had the same success? Would he have thought to implement a lot of these things if they weren't there?

Now this shouldn't necessarily be seen as taking credit away from Claudio, in fact I think this further shows how special an appointment he was in that he was able to see the value in the various things that where already here and used his input to grow on those aspects, rather than be head strong and insist on "his way or the highway".

But if you're trying to understand our rise to success you have to consider all of the ingredients that have gone into it and credit should go to all areas that had an impact - and one of those areas is Pearson, whether you liked him or not.

Funny how differently fans see things.

Much of his antics last season I think were anything other than 'honourable'.

It still amazes me how many people on here were applauding him for his behaviour. Off the field, he was arrogant and naive. On the field we were pretty much pants until the final 7 games.

I do thank him for getting us back up and for laying the foundations. But we've moved on. I'm not continuing to bleat on about Pearson.
