But on a more serious note, Alvaro Arbeloa wouldn't be bad cover for Simpson for one year. Lots of experience at Real Madrid, and in the Champions League.

Went to Exeter Vs. Brentford last night and was seriously impressed by a defensive player called Ethan Ampadu. Looked him up today and he's 15! A definite prospect for the future, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool sniffing around, based on last night I'd love us to throw our hat in the ring

Ideally, I'd want us to sign a (talented/promising) English player so we can rest at ease with regards to the home-grown squad member policy.

 

Won't be cheap, though. Still, with the right amount of preparation and dedication...

He was sensational last season. I thought he was the best English RB in the league. He isn't helped by Mahrez inability to track back. He WAS massively helped by Kante's ability to mop up. Simpson is solid enough, but he can't do it all on his own.

Plenty left in the pot pal, you've got to bare in mind in terms of overall transfer fees this summer were about even ish due to Kram and Kante sales.

Definitely a CM is crucial, a bit fed up of all just strikers and wingers being linked, we need a driving force, a stronge tackler. N'zonzi is good for that but I don't know, whatever happens in this window I think a new CM is definitely the priority

i think we have enough attacking options although another striker who can find the net would be good, we need experience in defense for backup to huth and big wes. we have signed hernandez and amartey can play their but would like more numbers in defense

He's not disciplined enough.  It is obviously a much bigger problem at that club but he is one of the reasons why Sunderland have struggled so much.  He's a defensive midfielder who lunges in to tackles and all to easily gets dragged out of position, thus offering little to no protection to the defence.

 

Even with another he isn't capable of doing a quarter of the work that Kante did.  If we need 2 players in midfield to replace Kante lets go with Mendy and Amartey alongside Drinkwater.

like i said if we're after a cm i'd want us to sign a midfielder rather than a defender who could offer cover there, that being said i personally think we need a powerful box to box midfielder not another cdm.... jones at rb or cb id be all for
