Based on your comments, read them again. Sorry for being excited about

my team and realising that we'd struggle with just a couple of injuries, imagine if Drinkwater got injured or Mahrez? You felt it was clever to shoot me down on a thread with the heading 'who do you want'?! You're an ostrich!

I didn't shoot you down, and name-calling isn't arguing, it's being unpleasant. I am incredibly excited about the team too, and of course that prospect is scary, yes. Attacking me for being critical isn't really what opinion is about, it is just mudslinging.

What do you mean "end up like Arsenal"?

Like that would be a bad thing lol

We could do with another midfielder but we'd need one if Mendy's injury is severe. Anything else isn't necessary. That's nothing to do with a lack of ambition, it's more to do with being realistic.

We agree a CM is absolutely essential, Amartey and King don't have the poise to unlock defenses. Every defence is now set up to contain Vardy, which has worked quite well so far against us. Hence why I believe we need a Siggurdson/Luan type of No.10/attacking midfielder also. Other than Mahrez who is going to create our chances?, not Albrighton, Gray is too green, Musa perhaps, Drinkwater is far too busy trying to contain midfield. The goals have to come from assists, who's going to provide other than Mahrez, do tell!

Love the way you've written of Albrighton there.

He didn't have a good preseason, and he hasn't looked great so far. I loved him last year, but I feel that him and Simpson are weak links if we're going to move forward. Albrighton had 6 assists last year, I'm not sure he'll better that this season, unless we had a Slimani/Bas Dost type who would feed off his crosses.

You're ignorant thinking that Mahrez and Vardy will be able to carry the team like last year, teams have already shown that they have adapted. Musa will be a threat, however unless we add some creative spark alongside Mahrez, we will find it very hard to break teams down (like Hull and Arsenal so far, 1 goal). However Kaputska was very impressive in the Euros and he can play off the front, maybe he could (with time) be  that guy?

I don't think we need Luan. Paredes and Dragovic/Sule would do for me. Reckon they would cost 40-45 mil altogether and in today's market that really isn't much.

You think that Mahrez and Vardy carried us last season.

I rest my case.

Are you for real, in terms of goals and assists....http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Premier_League_Combined_2015-16.html

Vardy was involved in 36 of our goals and Mahrez 29... Those figures are off the charts for ANY given premier league season, without them where do/did our goals come from??? Kante was also massively crucial.

So Barcelona are "carried" by Suarez and Messi?

Are Madrid "carried" by Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema?

Don't talk so much shit ffs.

You sound totally deluded, without goals you can't win matches. Without top class strikers/attacking midfielders you can't win anything . You think we would have won the league without Vardy and Mahrez last year? Man, I've head it all now!!! Of course you need a great team, spirit, tactics and defence, but without Vardy and Mahrez we would have finished mid table at best.

The owners have said the club needs to stand on it's own two feet, they haven't invested anything personally on players fee wise since the season before we got promoted. Anyone expecting them to invest huge amount on players will be waiting a long time.

Ranieri has not said we've got unlimited funds, he's just said what Pearson always said... if he really needs something the owners will do all they can to get it for him. But there are going to be conditions on that, he might want Messi but they aren't going to spend the £500m it would need to get him. He like Pearson will know the clubs strategy, which has been a decent investment but nothing outlandish.

Following on from Smuts, we really do could do with genuine competition for Simpson. People will say Amartey can fill in there but it remains to be seen where his actual position is, seems very much a utility player.

I think a net spend of £50-£60m this summer would be fine, without putting us at risk, taking into account wage increases. We shouldn't go mad, but £20m on a CM is required, thankfully we should get £3-4m from Inler in addition to the £1m for Moore.

Without taking into account all the wage rises, we could probably have done £100m this summer net if we'd wanted to.

But with the vast increases in wages since promotion we're going to be one of the best payers in the league outside the big 6 / 7. We're meant to be limited with FFP in how much we can increase our wage spend, so income from sales are likely to end up having to cover us going well over the allowable increases.

I'm sure there is money there for a decent player, but not three £20m which seems to be how many are thinking. Because they also come with wages that need to be paid for 4 years, along with all those new contracts.

There is a fine balancing act being done between wages increases, player spend, FFP, how we pay wages going forward,  paying for ground capacity changes... the club can't budget for champs league money against realistically, so we have to budget for something else long term, whilst also making sure we're going to have money to buy players and aren't just spending it all on wages.

I can see us potentially dipping in to the loan market on deadline day, sniffing around the big euro clubs for players that we can try before we buy. Therefore alleviating some of the issues mentioned above with net spend, as we wont be fully committing until next season.

With regards to who I want, I can understand why the club is struggling, because their really isn't a lot out there in the positions we need! Well attainable prospects at least....

I'd love someone like Kouyate to come in. I know he wont but that style of player at least.

Midfielder and right back still the two priorities. Yes Amartey and Hernandez CAN play right back but we should be an injury/suspension away from having a fill in player.

On the midfielder front it wouldn't surprise me if we aren't just waiting to shift Inler and James first

I hope we don't leave it until the last day as we are the pits at acting quickly. We'll balls it up.

I'd like to see us go for Tielemens from Anderlecht, they seem to be selling all their players in recent seasons. He is a class act.

Totally disagree. Simpson was excellent against Arsenal for me.

Most combined tackles and interceptions In the PL over the weekend (12), that's good going!
