If the Brexit vote had gone the other way the pound would be soaring and we'd be congratulating them for holding off. Â In business you can buy what are called currency forward contracts. Â That means you can lock in an exchange rate years in advance if you wanted to. Â I'm sure our owners will be aware of these being international business men.

Yes, but then it becomes a matter of when to lock in. Hindsight can still make a fool of you. It does however give certainty to the amount paid in your own currency, so I can see why companies do it.
