Old Trafford Evacuated After Suspicious Package Found

Weird how it's always them??

yeah i distinctly remember all those times Utd have had games abandoned due to suspect packages.

If it was a suspicious package, why didn't the security intercept it before fans got through the turnstiles.

Would've though by now, 2016 and health and safety brigades etc, Man Utd would be top of their game here.

Was this an accident or designed? It matters not a jot as Manchester City drew and claim 4th spot as Manure will not overhaul them on goal difference.

It was a mobile phone with wires attached. Could easily have been brought in in a coat pocket, or tucked inside a sock, or even in a bag from a purchase from the club shop.

So you have to consider this an act of terrorism (provided the phone with the wires was actually genuine) or a terrible hoax - I'm surprised by how calm and professional the evacuation was carried out. Well done!

neither. It was planted considering it was a phone attached to a pipe in a toilet.

Good job they found it then! Won't be surprised if security is increased even more next season. Football is such a high profile support, and is therefore likely to be targeted.

Good work by the security and Intelligence for averting a potential disaster. However, I hope this doesn't have the kid of knock on effects for games as I suspect it may.

CCTV footage will hopefully come in handy here. Although it's near-impossible to say where to start exactly with the investigation, you're potentially looking back as early as the evening after the home game against our side two weeks ago!
