GaelicFox Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Part of old Trafford evacuated Hope it's only a precaution
Larry_LCFC Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Not good. Will they bother playing it at a later date? No point really
LCFC FOX Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Not good. Will they bother playing it at a later date? No point really Suppose it depends if city win or lose
StanSP Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Weird how it's always them?? yeah i distinctly remember all those times Utd have had games abandoned due to suspect packages.
Wymsey Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 If it was a suspicious package, why didn't the security intercept it before fans got through the turnstiles. Would've though by now, 2016 and health and safety brigades etc, Man Utd would be top of their game here.
WigstonWanderer Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Might be extra cautious after the events in Iraq
casablancas Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Controlled explosion carried out inside old Trafford. Worrying.
David Hankey Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Was this an accident or designed? It matters not a jot as Manchester City drew and claim 4th spot as Manure will not overhaul them on goal difference.

Would've though by now, 2016 and health and safety brigades etc, Man Utd would be top of their game here. It was a mobile phone with wires attached. Could easily have been brought in in a coat pocket, or tucked inside a sock, or even in a bag from a purchase from the club shop.
MC Prussian Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 So you have to consider this an act of terrorism (provided the phone with the wires was actually genuine) or a terrible hoax - I'm surprised by how calm and professional the evacuation was carried out. Well done!

Ian W LCFC Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Good job they found it then! Won't be surprised if security is increased even more next season. Football is such a high profile support, and is therefore likely to be targeted.
StanSP Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 fair play to the security team(s) though for acting quickly and getting everyone out safely with little panic.
stevelcfc Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Good work by the security and Intelligence for averting a potential disaster. However, I hope this doesn't have the kid of knock on effects for games as I suspect it may.
RowlattsFox Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Worrying. Hope it turns out to be a hoax of some kind. Not sure the French security are as competent as ours.
MC Prussian Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 CCTV footage will hopefully come in handy here. Although it's near-impossible to say where to start exactly with the investigation, you're potentially looking back as early as the evening after the home game against our side two weeks ago!
