SantiagoFox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Just a quick post to thank all the young 'uns in Union Fs for helping create the best atmosphere in recent years. Also for the hiring of upstairs of the pub after the Everton game. Cheers!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 They've done a superb job re establishing the Kop. I've been a ST holder in the SK1 area since 2012 and in 2013, I was very excited by their arrival. Union FS have without doubt, for me, improved the atmosphere across the whole stadium at home matches. It's been a mixture of Union FS, clappers, L1, drums, flags and tifo's which has all ultimately help gain the reputation for the stadium as having the best home atmosphere in England.
lifted*fox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 big well done to these guys - they've done an amazing job of helping our atmosphere come along leaps and bounds. no doubt it has had a massive effect on the players when they've needed a lift. **** the idiots on here moaning about 'working class' and 'the good ol' days' BLA BLA BLA. I couldn't give a shit if these lads were bought up in buckingham palace by the queen herself, as long as they're singing and bouncing up and down for 90 minutes every game helping to keep the ground rocking. the tifo's have been exceptional as well - put a real special touch to those games where they've happened. keep it up - looking forward to more of the same next season!

I agree that these guys have done a 1st class job as leaders of the 'choir', but the whole stadium has been rocking & without doubt the supporters have truly been the 12th man. The fantastic support & 100% backing of the team must have a great affect on the lads, roaring them on to victory. Well done you Foxes, there has not been a hint of any booing towards our guys all season. Best supporters by miles!
OadbyBlue Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Don't understand when I see people say clappers help make an atmosphere. Most of the people I see use them don't actually join in with the singing. It's Union fs and l1 who make the atmosphere.
Moonstomp Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 If any of you want to sing and 'bounce up and down' all game then relocate to SK1 and increase the numbers and atmosphere even further! 90 minute singers more than welcome.
Great Boos Up Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Don't understand when I see people say clappers help make an atmosphere. Most of the people I see use them don't actually join in with the singing. It's Union fs and l1 who make the atmosphere. Not true, we're not all young lads anymore. With the clappers most other parts of the ground have been buzzing too. The old couples with their flasks and the young kids all join in. I took my Boss (Emirates Season ticket holder) to the West Ham game (which was a bit nervy) and he was blown away by the noise. I thought this was the point of the clappers; to try and get everyone involved to support the team winning or losing.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 I've thought for a long while now, that with the current set up - L1 and SK1 Union FS, even without clappers the atmosphere would still be regarded as one of the best in the UK. But not against people using clappers, some benefit from using them so fair play.
lifted*fox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 We don't need to change anything - keep everything exactly as is for next season and it'll be a wall of noise again.
Harry - LCFC Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Everyone who raises their voice on a match day plays their part. You could say Union FS take an 'encourager' role but it's up to others in the stadium to do their bit too.

The clappers drown out the chanting, there's a new chant that sounds great coming from SK1, went on for about 5 minutes in the last home game but I've no idea what the words are due to the clappers.

You could say Union FS take an 'encourager' role but it's up to others in the stadium to do their bit too.Spot on. Union FS are the catalyst for that corner of the ground, just like L1 are the leaders of the other end. The noise comes from all around the ground, and it's everyone's job to get involved and everyone can take credit for how good we've been this season! If any of you want to sing and 'bounce up and down' all game then relocate to SK1 and increase the numbers and atmosphere even further! 90 minute singers more than welcome. Also this! Absolutely everyone is welcome!
Vestan Pance Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Agreed. Union FS have been brilliant, that first Tifo set the tone for the rest of the season. I've nothing against clappers but I do wonder why they are needed when 2 hands are just as loud. Maybe a handout could be circulated next season demonstrating the required action to produce a decent hand clap;-)

Leicester boys are we Pride of our city In good times and in bad We'll always back the lads Now we're gonna win the league
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 It's tricky because clappers have increased the noise levels throughout the ground, but at the same time it can be difficult for a song to be continous and for the words to be properly heard over the clappers, as mentioned above. I will be fascinated to see our atmosphere next season with or without clap banners. Either way it is still one of the best in the PL and will probably remain like that hopefully. We have high standards of our atmosphere I feel. Watford, Leicester, Palace and possibly Swansea have all had notable home atmospheres in this campaign.
Len Finsbury Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Wait... so it's not Jobber's drum that creates the atmosphere?
GaelicFox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Wait... so it's not Jobber's drum that creates the atmosphere? Not sure I even hear it in family stand much , need to try listen next time A Chant goes up and then the clappers get going , hope the clappers stay forever

Take them away and I think you will find out how much they help!

Take them away and I think you will find out how much they help!Take away the winning then we'll see how good it is.All the people bigging up our atmosphere should remember that it can be replicated wherever we are in the league.
Rocket-Ron Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I've just seen a company car for a sign writing firm go by with "history makes us who we are" painted on the side and "#backingtheblues" on the back, looked impressive. Didn't manage to get a picture though sadly. G B signs or something like that.

One poster peddling a bizarre myth for reasons known only to himself you mean. Really hope the atmosphere kicks on next season, preferably without clappers. We'll need voices and not cardboard if we're going to compete with decent Euro away supports at home.
Bettsj2 Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 The clappers create a general wave of noise all around the stadium that is seriously fvcking loud. The chants have always been and probably always will be exclusive to certain sections of the ground and that goes for when we were at Filbo too. The balance is perfect and is unlike anything at any other ground.
