promised land Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Is Kyle Walker Twoddles son in law? He hasn't praised him enough.
PhillippaT Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 It's so much better when you actually cross the ball (Though it helps when they do something with it, too)

Guest Col city fan Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Unless I'm very wrong (and I honestly hope I am), you can see where this is going. I doubt the players REALLY respect Woy very much..let's face it, he's weird. And Neville as number two, can talk a good game, but we've just seen when it really matters, he ain't got a clue. Valencia under Neville were truly awful. That's fact. My despair is that if we had a good manager, a motivator, just a good bloke who the players liked, we could look so much better than this rubbish. It's really really disappointing as an England fan to watch a performance like this against ten men. I'd love be proven wrong and for us to go on to have a good tournament. I guess we'll see.

foxes_rule1978 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Finally... actually have looked good these last 10 minutes... remarkable what happens when Rooney isn't on

PhillippaT Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Wow - a cross - and a goal - see, isn't that hard, is it?

This is the problem the FA will never appoint that type of manager. Gareth Southgate is next on the production line
spudfox2911 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see England do well at the euros, but if this is plan A.... we won't be there long. As others have said same old shit, no presence, no apparent desire, a total **** up of tactics and again why play vardy out left? As I've said before, he knows vardy strengths but won't play to them. Can only assume he's either deliberately trying to kill the blokes confidence or is a genuine ****wit. Sad thing is, it's probably both. same situation for DD really, must have been demoralizing hearing woy in his press conference stating his bizarre rationale then contradicting it several times. It's genuinely really ****ing annoying.. Aghhh Wot scrapes a 1-0 and will believe he has seen an amazing selection and tactical plot. Bell end of the highest order
promised land Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Gareth Southgate, that proven club manager. Shows you what a closed shop the FA really are.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Major shake up needed in the FA this sh*t has been happening for years, just wrong players in the wrong formations and bloody atrocious football. Why is drinkwater not there... why can't Vardy play his game, why do we have to shift the team to accommodate Rooney ? year in year out, same problems. We need a manager that understands football first off... and then one that isn't a yes man, someone who isn't going to play just the players with the biggest sponsorship deals.
PhillippaT Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 You watch a game like this, and wonder what would happen if we'd play with a couple of 'proper' wingers crossing the ball in, rather than Vardy and Kane on each wing :-/

Watched Shearer's doc last night, and you could see how much respect the players had for Venables. At least Keegan had the balls to say he was not quite good enough, can't see Hodgson being man enough to admit that.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Rooneys favourite word......erm. I thought he was trying to paper over the cracks as best he could. Thankless task after that performance.
Corky Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Apparently Leicester play boring football OMG DEY ONLY HAVE BOUT 23 PERCENT PURZESHUN! We are ten times more entertaining than that, but if you like knocking it across the middle of the pitch before going down blind alleys then that is perfect for you.
HankMarvin Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 One natural winger in sterling, whats the odds vardy on the left to accommodate Called it!!! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ian-wright-furious-over-jamie-8105247

smr Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Same old shite again from England, guaranteed we'll get nowhere in this tournament, proper big shake up from the roots up and top down needed at the FA. Why we're playing a diamond I've got no idea.... if Rooney has to play in it then yeah his best position is to sit in behind Vardy and Kane but we need to drop him and stop trying to accommodate him. 4-4-2 would work brilliantly for this England team, Drinkwater should be in there, Vardy and Kane up front, build the team around them, set up to play direct forward football, none of this trying to be fancy and pass it around and work it into the box. It doesn't work, it's stale, boring to watch and needs completely eradicating. If we actually tried playing like Leicester do we'd do really well imo.
Corky Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Who said that? No-one specifically, just watching that made me think of all those who banged on about how we were boring because we defended and didn't dominate possession.
pazzerfox Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 I thought England as a team were synonymous with high tempo, entertaining football with a bulldog spirit to match! I have seen none of this for a while now. It's just a shame that everyone knows how England's 2016 campain will end.........With a whimper.

I always want England to do well, but I have had enough of Hodgson, he doesn't have a clue... it will end badly but the bright side to that is no more bloody Hodgson. I have prepared myself for this campaign to be yet another embarrassment
