So lets say for arguments sake, Leicester won the league next season, say West Ham finished 4th,Spurs somewhere in top 4,Man Utd 5th again, Liverpool 6th or 7th just for the purpose of illustration.

When does the so called "big team" cease being a "big team" and the smaller teams recognised for their good players?

That's the issue, it's not that they're big teams, it's because they're establishment teams, with huge marketing value. Liverpool haven't been a big team in decades, but they're still getting the attention.

Vardy's involvement is literally the only reason I have an interest in England.

If it wasn't for Vardy's involvement I wouldn't really give a fuck.

I can't support England with that prick in charge, i'm almost done with them while he's the manager.

Thing is even with Vardy playing we all know he's gonna be played out of position anyway, so what's the point?!

When the tournament starts I might change my tune (When it's an excuse to go to the pub, the beer might start talking) but I have as much interest in England as I do Wales, France, Austria - The link, Leicester players. My passion for England is currently 0.

Part of me wouldn't mind England being knocked out in the group stages, on Vardy's part i'd be disappointed for him, but hopefully a dismal, embarrasing group KO would be a huge nail in Woy's coffin. :fc:

Yep, completely agree with you. I find the whole DD exclusion quite laughable now, it's just so wrong and I've heard absolutely nobody defending his decision. If Roy really wants to make a name for himself, then go out in the group stages by finishing 4th, please... for the good of the nation.

As said, I'm too only interested in England for Vardy. Hope he is given a proper chance to do his thing - we all know he wont be.

Almost hope vardy doesn't play as without him I don't give a flying f&@@K Green 17about England. I would have mixed feelings about a load of Tottenham players being lauded as geniuses for winning the euros and then Roy staying in place.

Sad - might support Wales, Austria or France.

My Dad's harder than yours. It's all a load of bull shit and there'll always be cases of unfairness but we are famous for picking the same type of squads and failing for the same reasons year in, year out. We're c u n t s.

Hodgson you are a disgrace. DD could have provided the assists for Vardy. Hodgson you are clueless. Now we will lose all 3 games plus Wilshire is guaranteed to get cricked.

He'll be played on the left side of a front 3. England will comfortably get out of the group, probably squeak through the 2nd round and lose meekly in the quarter finals.

Hodgeson reached his level at West Brom to be honest, he's totally suited to them (sorry baggies fans!)

Who was the last England manager to get three tournaments? Sven? At least he made a fight of it each time. Any previous England manager would of been sent packing after our last World Cup, I don't understand why Roy wasn't!

Hi Fellas

I'm a Manchester City fan, and just thought I'd put a view across, as this thread feels like Deja Vu.

Firstly, while I'm in no way defending him, I don't think it's Hodgson who's the problem, it's the whole England set up. Sure he's the manager and should be picking players on merit, but successive England managers over the years have done the same. They seem to be under orders to pick players from MU Liverpool and Arse, then just fill in the gaps afterwards.

If you had Pele, Maradonna, both Ronaldos and Messi playing for you, and they were all English and in their prime, Wooney, Wilshere and Henderson would still be picked in preference.

It's like jobs for the boys, much as Eton and Oxbridge gets you a job as a tory.

This has been going on as long as I can remember, and TBH, I just can't be arsed with international football anymore, as it just never seems to change.

I imagine WH are feeling pretty much the same about Noble.

Anyway, congrats on the title, and good luck in the CL.

(mind you, even if you beat barca 10-0 in the final, they'll still pick Wooney and co)

Thanks.

Got to say, it's good to hear it from fans of other clubs, because you do begin to wonder if it's bias that clouds your judgement.

You're right. Why should we take any interest in a team that is run so badly for no good reason?

I don't think England would have won much over the years even with great managers being allowed to get on with their job with no interfering, but I am sure we would have at least come close on several occassions.

The showing at the last World Cup was an absolute disgrace, and I don't hold much hope that this will be a lot better. It's such a shame when you can see that we could have a decent team.

Is there a solution? What needs to happen in order to stop crocks and has-beens being picked ahead of in-form players?

On penalties, obvs.

Never liked Roy, how he stayed on after the World Cup I have no idea. Would love MON as manager he would mould a good team and mentality or even Big Sam.

Gutted drinkwater not going. His crime is he wears a blue shirt. Should have been Drinky and Townsend in place of Barkley and Henderson. My guess is Rashford will be playing, and Vardy forgotten in France. Hope I'm wrong. Hodgson bangs on about our strong attacking players. Anyone remember similar chat (shit get banged) before our disastrous world cup effort ?

Like I say, hope I'm wrong

Is Danny even in the backup squad ?

Gutted that DD isn't going but more bothered about the waste of Vardy pushed out wide. Roy will insist on playing Kane down the middle whilst putting Vardy on the left wing. I wish he'd swap the 2 over, Kane seems the more likely to score from distance having cut in from out wide whilst Vardy is far more clinical down the middle. Always seems Kane is more comfortable going for angled, placed shots whilst Vardy is the more instinctive finisher.

I was lying in bed last night and the fact that 5 Liverpool players have made the squad is a shambles, especially as two of them are carrying knocks, they finished like 7th and won nothing yet still get picked.

It's a farce, just because the **** has managed them before, it wouldn't surprise me if he is getting a backhander, cause it makes no sense what so ever.

It will never change, and hodgson will continue to pick his favourites whilst he is manager.

Don't get your hopes up it will improve either because the next manager will be a Southgate type FA man, chosen by yeah, well, yeah, ummmm, yeah, well.... Trevor Brooking.

The whole lot should go and we should start afresh. But they will probably go for a 'dream team' and give another chance to Glenn Twaddle with David Bleat as his assistant twat. They can pick all spuds players then.

100% agree my interest in England is only about Vardy. If he's not picked (most likely as it's obvious hodgson doesn't rate him) and we play Wales (if King plays), Austria, (if Fuchs plays), France, (if Kante plays) or ROI with O'Neill in charge I suspect my support will be with those.

And that is totally because of the hodgson. Can't stick the bloke. Should never have got the job in the first place and should have been sacked after the dire world cup performance. But the FA don't want anyone to manage them except yes men.

If you want to know how the FA run football watch 'Mike Bassett England Manager'....it's the most accurate football film ever made. Some people tell me it's a comedy film, but I'm convinced it's a proper documentary.

The more you think about it the more pissed off you get
