Musa and Slimani are showing as much work rate as everyone else though. If anything I'd imagine Slimani has covered more ground per 90 than all the strikers.

Mendy isn't lightweight either. Looked a bit overweight. But you don't captain a French team to 4th place aged 23 if you're crap.

Can't upvote you anymore today. Good post.

Man city he was great and worked just as hard as the team, bournemouth he looked well off the pace.

maybe you will be correct, nigel reo coker captained west ham at a young age to fa cup final i think, doesn't make you a top player either. I never said mendy is crap. We have not seen enough of him to make that judgement, only akinbiyi and junior lewis I would have said crap. Celtic friendly he was bossed and pushed off the ball so easily. to me looks too lightweight, comfortable on the ball, good range of passing but does not know how to use his body to his advantage like Kante did. average but lightweight for me.

Hernandaz is a decent player He offers so much more than Simpson. Simpson always seems to be playing on the edge. it's just that he lacks the physicality for the premiership.

He played so long in Spain that he's probably gone soft. A few tough challenges might change his attitude and realise if he doesn't toughen up he'll get hurt.

Simpson has been one of the few players playing better this season than last season, in my view.  He's a class act.  I agree that it is too early to write-off Hernandez.  Many people seem to be very quick to write-off any new signing who has not blown us away after two or three games.

I suppose it was thought it would be sensible to get in a CB who could cover at RB.

Simpson is a player with a good fitness record, so getting in a 6 million RB who plays 5 games a year was probably deemed not really sensible.

However with The Don rotating more this season it would have been better to get a specialist in rather than shoehorn a CB into RB.

I like having Hernandez on the field when utilized offensively.

During the first two Champions League games, we used him to launch the ball into the box anytime we crossed half field - we did the same against Bournemouth, which of course didnt work out so well - but more times than not, the defense looked at a loss on how to handle the ball coming in.

I see him as someone who can contribute offensively - which is something we need right now.

I'd even play him in front of Simpson whereby he could help out Simpson and support Mahrez. His throw in is worth 5 to 10 goals a season. The problem with his throw ins is that their to direct. Whereas we should be using them to create better second Balls. With Headers across the face of goal or out to the edge of the Box. For someone could get onto the end of to score.

Why does everyone pile on Simpson so much? He's been a model of consistency.

I seriously want him back in the side, just a little joke. I went to the Bournemouth game and the amount of slagging off Hernandez got was really something.

Hernandez is actually growing on me. You can tell he cares. The ref did something to upset him against Bournemouth and you could see him fuming for ages! His throw is lethal.

He kind of reminds me of a right sided poor man's Tunchev. That's a big compliment because if you're half the player Tunchev was, you're going to be quality.

He will be playing in his natural position which is good, but Amartey may slot in alongside Wes. Or maybe Wasilewski coming in.

If he does play, we'd probably be best off with Wes as the Right sided CB, and Hernandez on the left, considering he is the more comfortable on the ball of the two. Plus, Wes tends to be much better on the right, so no point disturbing him as well. Hernandez played as the left CB alongside Was against Barca in pre season, and did pretty well, so I'd like to see us try that.

He'll will need to toughen if he's playing CB against Lukaku or he'll get muscled of the Ball. That's the only thing I feel he lacks is the traditional rought house brittish CB approach.

then Wes, as the senior pro and captain should take Lukaku all game then, they only play with 1 up front
