Kendal Fox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 This game makes it clear. However average Bale has been, his teammates are not in the same league as him. They don't read his passes, his flicks and tricks. He's miles better than any of them. Big shame that Ramsey is out cos he's the only player that can get anywhere near him. I agree but at the same time, like I said earlier, it seemed as though he kept forgetting his teammates simply didn't have the reflexes and fleet-footedness to pull off what he was trying to provide. So he ended up wasting balls.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Parabens Portugal. We were off key tonight. As much as I admire Andy King we missed Ramsey. We were also too cautious. Better to have gone out 5-0 with all guns blazing. Still proud. And bring it on Welsh haters... ;-) No one has any hate for Wales, they did fantastically well... and should be very proud with what was achieved. I hope they get a true heroes welcome when they go back home
Izzy Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 How anyone can criticise Bale is beyond me. He works his nuts off, tries to make things happen and surges his team forward. I love his attitude and he's a credit to his country.
Dan Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Non-entity of a game but Portugal just seem to know how to win games. They're nothing special but they're an effective side. Giving a few jibes back at the Welsh who've been at it to us all tournament (although rightly so in some ways) but they've done well on the whole. Never thought they'd get anywhere near this.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 2nd goal was the killer, it was pure fluke, and allowed Portugal to be even more defensive. Wales missed that link player/workhorse between Robson Many and Bale, which was Ramsey. At 1 nil I could see Wales come back. Up until the second goal, I thought both teams were equal. Well done Wales for getting this fAr
BoyJones Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Wales battle through the qualifiers, through the group stages, get to the last four and then don't turn up. A bit more of an attacking game plan and Wales could have won that match. Playing ultra defensive made in easy for Portugal. Ronaldo was always going get one of two chances against a defence containing two players almost as old as me in Collins and Williams, why not go out and give it a go. Wales will probably never get a better chance to seize their place in history, but basically bottled it.

Kendal Fox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 It's up to his team mates to raise their game and improve to his standards instead of Bale dropping down to their level surely? I agree. But I don't think they could. With 2 elite level players - Bale and Ramsey, they are obviously inspired enough to get by and probably would've beaten Portugal comfortably. I think the ref was a fvcker in the game vs Belgium and it ultimately cost Wales. Just my opinion.
Izzy Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 At the end of the day, Ian Rush is thick as pig shit. At the end of the day..... Legendary striker but god awful when interviewed. Shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a microphone bless him. At the end of the day....

SystonFox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Is it ok to stop rim jobbing Wales now? Great achievement but didn't turn up on the night. Hope Portugal lose the final
Sharpe's Fox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Been a poor tournament really. That these two get to the semis and Portugal the final is atrocious. Has anyone been any good? The only good performance I can think of is Italy vs Spain and they're his out.
reynard Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 What an anti climax that was. Fair play to Wales for getting this far but tonight they were very poor. Portugal were little better. Simply not enough quality and their one world class player basically didn't turn up with the exception of a couple of long range shots. In fact some of Bale's play was nothing short of woeful. Free kicks and passes that just went out of play etc etc. Tonight really showed how terrible the overall standard of this competition has been. Very few good sides and a lot of negative play throughout. Too many teams in it and it has gone on for too long.

The only good performance I can think of is Italy vs Spain and they're his out. Maybe. But our performances against Russia and Belgium were very good. Am very disappointed tonight as we got it wrong tactically - too defensive- but overall very proud for such a small nation. So back to the Foxes now.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Bellamy is a div. "We lost cos Ramsey didn't play." After loads of "we're a team" talk. Bellamy is a cvnt
