foxes_rule1978 Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 People shouldn't expect second best anymore, that is the Arsenal and Spurs mentally
GaelicFox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Mickey Mouse games the hard training out there left the lads with tired legs ! We will be monsters at Hull , and batter them and all will be back on track i like claudios style he is as cunning as any manager in the game
ronnup Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 I can't think of another team in the world that would've played 442 against PSG. If that had been a competitive game we would've played a different formation. It was about seeing players cope with a system for me, mainly Mendy and Amartey. Absolutely nothing to worry about.
sylofox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 How things change 3yrs ago we would have been so happy to be on the same pitch as one of the biggest clubs in the world. Now we loose a pre season friendly and the end of the world is nigh. That sad thing about last season is some of our fans will become Billy big bollox. Just like the trees and fans at the so called big clubs. I have always been proud to be a city fan even in the dark days of Mc Cvntock n Pleat not so sure I will feel like that now.

Without Kante you can almost forget 442 for me, he made it work

Mid table next year would be perfectly fine with the vast majority of fans. I've got a bet with a mate $100 for us to make top 10 and i win. Give me a 10th placed finish and i'll be happy. Bets aside anything lower than 14th would be a semi-disaster
desertfox2 Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Not worried in the slightest. It could be a blessing in disguise, our success is built on work rate and if anyone was getting carried away this may bring them back down to earth. Vardy is one of the fittest players in the league and on the OS in the training gallery he had his shirt off almost straight away. It's very hot over there. Boxers sometimes train at altitude so that they adjust to less oxygen etc. Coming from LA to playing in Hull might have a similar effect. We will be ready and Kaputska could/should be a great signing.
hejammy Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Those thinking that the world has ended by us losing to PSG need to hang their heads in shame. It's a friendly, do you think the team starting that game was CRs starting 11? In fact at any point was it our starting 11? Friendlies are there to experiment! Which is what he did, we looked decent at times, with it being our 3rd game against a world class team who gave Real Madrid a tough time what do you expect? Crazy when you think about it. We do need replacements for Ulloa and Shinji I agree, they did a good job last season but we need to step up, we were always going to miss the presence of Kante, but I have faith in CR to find the right system to sort that out. CHILL OUT!

I'll give you Chelsea underperformed but the notion that the rest of them are going to double their output this year is a myth at best. We're a good side that have so far lost one player. One player who would have been very important in the Champions League but whose impact will have been diminished in the league anyway because people are going to give us much more respect this year.

4everfox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 PSG beating Leicester Reserves is not the end of the world, I've seen the game and I'm telling you Vardy would have buried the Musa and Albrighton chances. Had we been fully fit and at full strength we could have won that game on a different day, like next March in the last 16 of the Champions League. Don't worry about a thing, 'cos every little thing is gonna be alright.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Didn't see the game, but seen extended highlights on YouTube. Looks like the 4-0 scoreline was a bit generous, we had our moments. Clearly a few players were just ring rusty. If anyone thinks we're going to start with that line up, or any of the combinations played, on day 1 of the EPL season, then they are crazy. Chill.

Finishing 10th or god forbid 14th would be embarrassing.

That's all fine and dandy, but that's you speaking at this point in time. The transfer window's still open until August, it reopens in January, so we could be looking at losing more players of that team that won us the league. As for the respect part, we'll see... I personally doubt it, as the opposition have now had one season to figure us out. Time will tell whether Ranieri and his management team can adapt to different proposals with our new squad that could still get more work done on its facelift.

Exactly, if you can't expect more after winning the league then when can you? people with high expectations know we have a great opportunity to become a serious side, those settling for less have small club mentality

Grewks Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 I learned 3 things from that game. The difference between every PL side and the European elite is staggering. Their 'Squad' players would walk into the first XI of any of our sides. PSG will be a force, again, this season. I'm expecting the last 4 of the champions league at the very least. Kasper needs a kick up the arse. His attitude is a disgrace. Had a right go at ben chilwell for putting the ball behind for a corner when he had no idea what was behind him, ran over to him and screamed in his face. Then, 20 seconds later, PSG are awarded a penalty after a terrible kick by Kasper. The man is an average keeper, who makes very few saves you think 'good save', and his kicking is getting worse. I remember watching Buffon at the world cup. Florenzi made a shocking back pass and put a player through. Immediately after making a save, Buffon went over and apologised to the full back, even though he wasn't at fault. Kasper needs to take pressure off the players, not put it on.

Kante is without doubt a world class holding midfielder but he is gone now. If we can keep Mahrez and add Kaputska we have done well this summer.
