possiblygeorge Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 I've watched the highlights (effectively lowlights) of the match but thought i'd watch the game in full. I thought Hernandez is a super signing for us, loves a throw in, a big one at that like Fuchs, and will only get better as the season goes on. I thought Chilwell did pretty well, was berated by Kasper a few times in the first half, most noticeably at around the 24' minute mark when he kicked the ball out for a corner kick, don't think there was much he could've done about it or whether Kasper called for it by Chilwell had other ideas. I thought we did well for the most part in the first half albeit the very few chances we had a goal. As soon as we conceded the first, due to a wreckless challenge, we seemed to have lacked composure and our heads dropped after that. Seemed like a white flag and the heat took a bit of a toll on our players. If we can play as well as we did for the first 22 minutes for most of our matches i have no doubt we can string together some decent wins, mind you with a solid starting line-up, not a makeshift one as we've seen for the PSG fixture.

Corky Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Ranieri isn't deluded, he's very aware of our strengths and weaknesses and doesn't panic. He'll take the positives and negatives to make sure it doesn't happen again. He's just not had many defeats to learn from.

Every time we lose a match we go on some insane streak and we don't lose a fixture for a number of months. I'm not expecting a win against Barcelona, but i'm expecting a decent performance to back ourselves up and take something away from the ICC

I'd also like to ask why "Man City beat this lot last season" is some kind of barometer to measure our potential success this season? Why are you assuming/expecting that we will finish above Man City this season? We shouldn't.

Had we been fully fit and at full strength we could have won that game on a different day, like next March in the last 16 of the Champions League. Don't worry about a thing, 'cos every little thing is gonna be alright. Leicester Reserves?
Finnaldo Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 All gon be alright when we beat Barcelona 2-1*** ***never quote me on this (unless we win 2-1)

I was just saying that people seem to think the European elite are miles ahead of the premier league, I just pointed out man city despite for them which was a bad season beat PSG over two legs. I don't expect but I do hope we make a fist of trying and not just flop to mid table.

This PSG side looks full of pace, power and technical ability. Their loss of Ibra, will improve them as a 'team'.

We will be monsters at Hull , and batter them and all will be back on track i like claudios style he is as cunning as any manager in the game I thought they looked tired and am putting some of it down to this. Having done a few pre-seasons over the years, this isn't a bad thing and both an early defeat & putting in the hard yards at this time of year may be positive.
Stevie Synex Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Knowing the amount of City fans that would normally travel to watch a pre-season friendly it is of no surprise to me that there a number of posters getting frustrated by others on here who just do not seem to understand the concept of these games. If you were one of those who sat and watched us this time last year against Mansfield then you won't be too alarmed at what you saw this morning. If you were watching City for the first time in a pre-season friendly then you may well be horrified to see us concede four goals against a quality side in front of the watching world. I don't like this ICC, my preference would be a pre-season relatively speaking behind closed doors where the staff and players just get their business done. Jetting off to California for a game and then onto Stockholm for another is not good preparation and means that we will miss playing an extra game which on today's performance we good do with. Onwards and upwards, it's Barcelona next which in all probability will further progress the meltdown on Foxestalk from some of our members. My preference would have been Burton Albion and Port Vale but the club has progressed and we all have to move into the new mindset as brand Leicester City does.

The money is there, we have CL football, so why not try to sustain it... We won the league for god sake we haven't just been promoted This 100%. It's frustrating to see fans happy to settle for mediocrity as if finishing 8th is some sort of achievement next season. I know it will be very difficult to get top four next season but that has to be our aim. Another season in the Champions League and prospective signings take us seriously rather than we're Yeovil Town who just won the PL and we'll be back to slugging it out for survival in no time. We'll rarely have a better chance of building on our success and going up a new level than we do this season so stick your "happy with 8th" mentality where the sun doesn't shine.
sylofox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 I really don't give a fook about this result. All this is about is the players putting in a shift to get match fit. But I really will be pissed off if we don't spank em in the CL final next may. Anyway off to cut my throat now as football finished when Kante was sold. Parps the club should invest in some egg shaped balls now.
ARCHER Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Leicester City in... Football team lose in pre-season friendly shocker!

On a positive note we caused PSG a few problems. We have a lot to do in a short space of time! Can we do it? When did you start following Leicester? We've played 2 (or 3) pre-season games. We've not had the squad together for more than a couple of days. We've travelled to the other side of the states Players think they're on holiday We have won the prem in my lifetime so who cares?
deccers Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 I think the OP would do well to remember this excellent pre-season, and the eventual outcome of that campaign...
TJB-fox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Just on another note regarding the opposition, PSG are better than any side in England.

It doesnt give us the right to go over the top, and not to dizz off other teams, like the national lampoon barrow boys from the smoke do regularly.BUT.... The above posts are how we should be thinking, nobody can take last season from us, I still go hot n cold trying to accept and realise it happened. It did though and the club ,Ranieri and our players have moved us into a new era, this era has to see us strive forward, expect no miracles, but dreams should also be recognised targets, especially now we have proven that dreams do actually come true.We have a good squad, and a great top 14 group of players. Not at PSG level, dont forget they have slowly built their skill in their squad. The posters above are talking about expected and awaited aspirations, they rightly in my opinion we should be chasing, and within that chase there is minimal expectations.Top 8 must be in, improving on our deliverance and style, we should be seeing. This game was a friendly nothing more, it gets serious next week at Wembley just to grab some small edge. Besides King Dick is still on his hols and paddling his feet, he wont to rest on his laurels when he returns to the field.

If you wouldn't even consider finishing 8th as ok then God help you. Last year was a dream and we were utterly superb all year. Will be difficult to happen again and I'd be very happy with a top 10 finish. No one has a ****ing small club mentality by saying they'd be content with a top 8 finish. We're Leicester city. It'll take time to consistently keep finishing towards the top end of the league. I bet you'll be booing us if we lose to Hull and arsenal as well. We might stagger a few again and finish top 6 but if we don't then it'll be no great travesty so please just be open minded and don't criticise us if we don't batter hull 6-0 on the opening day.

All those who played will have big parts to play this season due to the number of games we're playing and the miles we'll be covering.

Either way there's no way that Claudio would have the players thinking that was a must win, it was simply about team cohesion and getting fitness levels up. That was Leicester at 50% at best.
foxfan92 Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 We're luring them into false sense of security ready for the Champions League. It's clever tactics from the tinkerman. When people underestimate Leicester - Leicester go on to surprise you. Dilly ding dilly dong. And maybe the team are just sick of pizza!!! Also ahead of this game Claudio in saying he hoped Mahrez isn't going anywhere said "we can replace Kante" http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/10516749/claudio-ranieri-leicester-know-how-to-replace-important-players. I'm hoping this means someone that allows us to play 2 in midfield again since I'm not certain we've enough there yet to do this against better opposition though Amarety didn't look too bad to be fair, we may keep James if we don't sign anyone and build up his fitness again ... and I'm not judging Mendy on a couple of friendlies.
