ben_lcfc Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 I am worried that: - We'll struggle to compete with the 'Top Top' teams - We haven't spent enough money and don't have enough quality at RB, CM and ST - We don't look sharp enough (7 days until the community shield) - Our delivery and finishing is poor - AND even managerless dull city could do us on the first game of the season. On a positive note we caused PSG a few problems. We have a lot to do in a short space of time! Can we do it?
Jimothy Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Why are you judging by this performance? It's a ****ing friendly!!!!!!
Aus Fox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Jog on moron dilly ding dilly dong wake up man it's a ****ing friendly
Harry - LCFC Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 I'm just amused by the fact people never learn. We lost to Northampton when we won the Championship, we struggled a Lincoln when we won the league last year. Having watched football for several years you ought to know by now that friendlies, for many reasons, should not be used to judge how the upcoming season will go.
Aus Fox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 In other news Melbourne Victory have won the Australian leg of this tournament. beating Ath. Madrid, Juventus and Spurs to the prize. Spurs lost every game. do you thing anyone has gone into meltdown on their forums?
Carl the Llama Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Need to move Mendy & Musa on and find a new manager asap.

What's the excuse going to be when we lose community shield next week? Jet lag?

Judging by the way their forum acted towards the end of last season, I would say almost certainly yes.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 We haven't looked great but they are only friendly games. Doesnt mean anything. They just give chances to test things out or new ideas. Hopefully a total different show by time Hull comes around
Bayfox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Please bring back the impressive pre seasons we had under tatter peeler. Oh wait.........
Marmite Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 It was only a matter of time before some idiot started a thread panicking over a friendly

Claudio will be concentrating on hull. Despite what everyone says, the community shield has no points available for either the PL or CL. pres season friendlies are to build fitness. If we take 6 points + from our three August games and finish 4th next may then who will remember this fortnight.

Tanya Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Friendlies are for learning purposes only. There was a couple of bright spots; we should have scored at least one and some of the guys played well. Would like another clinical striker. Ulloa didn't do a bad job but the pairing of him and Okazaki is bad news. Both of them don't pose a great attacking threat. Musa needs to sharpen up, hope he gets considerable game time against Barca to do so.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 The performance was a total embarrassment , we have money let's spend a bit

foxinsox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Some pluses: Hernandez looked good. Composed and skillful with a good long throw. I see him as a CB. Chilwell also didn't look out of his depth, though could have stopped their second. Amartey generally very good. 2 of our best chances fell to him. Both were just a yard off spectacular. Mendys and Musa the jury is out. Gray looked sharp. He and Mahrez will get us goals. Drinky looked good too. The rest of the team looked jaded and off the pace. Two weeks to go, two more games to get it right and Hull are no PSG!
kingfox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Just don't play Mendy in a two and Okazaki & Ulloa together then we'll be alright.
Crinklyfox Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 It was useful to measure the team against class opposition who looked fairly impervious to pressure, were all confident on the ball and had good control and passing skills from front to back. We won't run into many teams as good as PSG over the next nine months. You learn more from your defeats than your victories and the experience will stand us in good stead for the Champions League.

Won more balls than Mendy and was happy to drive forward with the ball. Mendy seems happier just to sit and offload the ball once he wins it.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 31 July 2016 Posted 31 July 2016 Kante has gone, and he made a lot of what we were about last season, the way we played worked because of him, we now need to start to spend and fill that gap because he is a massive loss.
