davieG Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 Hmm I must be the only one who thought Simpson was poor then, well except for this Arsenal Fan Quote However I do think your still even with additions short of numbers, my concern for you would of the loss of kante and cover for the two full backs. Danny Simpson repeating last season level wise will be difficult as he always seems a tad out of place positionally for me and yesterday Morgan and Huth saved him on a number of occasions defensivly
okie fox Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 Schmeichel 7 Dealt OK with everything Simpson 8 Pinched inside and got us out of jail a few times Morgan 7 Did a good job Hush 7 Good in the air, scary in possession Fuchs 7 Kept Walcott in check Mahrez 8 Some good runs Drinkwater 9 Was everywhere Mendy 6 Not as good as Kante in winning the ball, but early days Albrighton 6 Helped defensively, but not great in attack Vardy 8 Caused problems Okazaki 6 Works hard but a bit lightweight and no end product (SUB) Musa 8 Lightning pace almost turned the game (SUB) Ulloa 7 Hold up play was better than usual (SUB) King 6 Improved over last week Opposition: Arsenal 8 Referee: Clattenburg 5 Never going to give us a penalty or send Coquelin off Ranieri 6 Could have brought Musa on a bit sooner

Clattenburg, the best referee in this Country, just had a poor game. Wasn't biased to any side. Not moaning too much about the penalty considering we got one last week when we shouldn't have. Arsenal 8 - Love watching Arsenal, they are brilliant. Eh? They passed it about nice and tidy but did they have a goal scoring opportunity? I thought they were poor and I gave them a 4,

One minute we've got a corner next minute three of them are coming forward.

But I can't understand what made you give them an 8? Especially when you only gave one Leicester player an 8 and called him 'clearly MOTM'.

We were good and could've won but they could so easily have won too. I vote our MOTM, not overall.
Chester Dontlie Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 Huth (MOTM), Schmeichel, Simpson, Mahrez, Shinji, Musa - 8 Wes, Fuchs, Vards, Drinky - 7 Albrighton, Mendy, Ulloa, King - 6 Claudio - 7, Clattenprick - 1, Arsebottlers weren't too bad - 6. I thought Mendy was decent, he seemed to be improving his game in the second half but then the injury happened. There's a hole in the midfield now that almost calls for a panic signing. Hopefully Don Claudio will fix it somehow. King is just not effective enough playing alongside Drinkwater. Also, Clattenprick was barely few yards away looking straight at Musa as he was mowed down by their player in the penalty area, WTF. So blatantly robbed. He should be banned from refereeing for a few games at least, blind cnut
bovril Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 From tele: Kasper 7 Simpson 6.5 Huth 8 Wes 7.5 Fuchs 6 Mahrez 6.5 Drinkwater 8 Mendy 6 (King 7) Albrighton 7 Vardy 7.5 Okazaki 7
Corky Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 Schmeichel- 6 Simpson- 6 Morgan- 8 Huth- 7 Fuchs- 7 Mahrez- 7 Drinkwater- 8 Mendy-6 Albrighton- 6 Vardy- 7 Okazaki- 7 King- 7 Ulloa- 6 Musa- 7
AyewJoking Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 everyone gets a 5 apart from musa 7, drinkwater 6 and albrighton 4 i'd give drinkwater man of the match but if he's playing alongside mendy and king i'd expect more from him as an attacking threat. had musa been on longer he wins motm all day long as he actually provided a threat.
Captain... He is not deployed as a right back to cover the flank and gallop forwards. His job is to tuck in when we don't have the ball, leave the space for the opposition to attack down our right side and make sure there is no space in the middle for someone to cut inside him and get one on one with Morgan or Huth. Walcott, Sanchez, Chamberlain can't hurt us with the ball in the corner, once they have the ball there Mahrez and Simpson try and box them in (Fuchs and Albrighton are more effective) and force them backwards or force them to cross. If he comes flying out trying to dive in and win the ball he can get skinned easily and leave us exposed. The other difference is Kante was deployed to cover the space between Mahrez and Simpson last season. Force them down our right, Kante comes across while Simpson stays narrow. I thought he played well yesterday, did his job and put in some good solid headers.
iancognito Posted 21 August 2016 Posted 21 August 2016 Drinkwater 9 and MOTM, I can't remember his last bad game. Wes and Huth 8s, Wes especially made two excellent blocks. 7s for most of the rest, 5 for Mendy who apart from getting injured barely got a meaningful touch of the ball, everything went round him, players and the ball too. Clattenburg had a decent game apart from the 2 penalty calls which weren't even debatable.
cc_star Posted 22 August 2016 Posted 22 August 2016 6 - Ranieri 6 & 7s throughout Drinkwater 9 - Immense Vardy 5 Clattenburg - Very poor Arsenal average but Kos - Immense

Sionnach gorm Posted 23 August 2016 Posted 23 August 2016 I find it strange that Ranieri gets a very low score from many here. I thought he did very well in turning the team around especially when they had a very hard fixture.
Fox Ulike Posted 23 August 2016 Posted 23 August 2016 All 7s and 8s. So good to see Huth, Okasaki and Albrighton back in the team. I'd written off Albrighton at the start of the season - he was very pooor in the Charity Shield, but I think he showed what we had missed against Hull. Our shape and discipline is so much better with two workhorses like Okasaki and Albrighton. The first thing you need in the Premiership is players who will run themselves into the ground for the team. I hardly dare to say it but if Musa deserves a place in the team then at the moment you'd have to say it's Vardy whose place is most under threat...!

Thats not so much a dig at him as the rest of our starting 11 are very good players and he seems an average RB. But that being said, I thought against Arsenal he was one of our best players, 8 out of 10 for me.

Worked last season with Mahrez. No player should be completely undroppable if out of form although I do think dropping Vardy after a couple of games would be very hasty. He is a confidence player as well so CR will know better how to manage that credit to Musa though if he is already pushing Vards
