adejo92 Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 Can we close this threat and put it behind us? I had a nightmare last night

That resulted in him never winning a major league title. Now is when we see how good he really is, I hope he can turn things around for us. Finishing anywhere outside the top 6 would be a failure.
foxinsocks Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 Lastnight i dreamed that drinky told me he'd donated 20k to the catholic church to curry favour for the foxes..... Does anyone know if drinky is a catholic? Or was this just a result of too much cheese before bedtime

Corky Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 21 hours ago, NeilLCFC said: this season the players just don't look like they care. All of our success in recent years was built on a never give up kinda attitude, think back to 5-3 against Utd. CR saying he'd given up at half time, goes against everything we were as a team. I've been saying for a while, the more CR changes things away from the NP days, the more things seem to be going wrong. Whilst most on here are happier with a manager that is good at holding press conferences, I will again state that I strongly believe NP had more to do with last season than CR did. That's complete crap. They cared against Arsenal, Swansea, Brugge and Burnley. They've played poorly in other games but we've had an inconsistent season, mixed with good and bad performances.
chrishlcfc Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 1st game I've been too for quite a while. Was a very tight and even game before we switched off for the 1st goal, that goal gave them confidence but we did gift them 3 goals from set pieces. It was a bit of a freak result for me because I still didn't think they were that good, they turned it on for 20 minutes. Frustrating result and defensive performance but still had a great day out as usual.
st albans fox Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 Perhaps we should buy Neil a season ticket at the ipro ? i get the feeling he would be better served as 'NeilNP' rather than 'NeilLCFC' ??
K1FOX Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 On the plus side, was a very decent away end I thought. Considering we got hammered

Bernieboots76 Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 The owners stated after the transfer window closed that they had ambition and wanted more success the trouble is we don't know what they would say would be a success this season. They have invested a lot of money into the playing side during the summer with a reported £27 million for Slimani and £13 million or there about for Musa and new contracts for existing players which shows there intent so who knows if they would be happy finishing out side the top six. The fact of the matter is we are champions of the premier league and yet we have been given a sound beating for the third time this season and that is not right. The fact of the matter is we are conceding goals in all sorts of ways not just from the set piece and that is not down to just one player it is as a team. The thing which worries me most is it seems that we are not getting Vardy into to the game as much as we did last season with his 24 goals in 36 matches we knew that if we conceded we felt like we could still score and have a go. It seems we as fans don't know which Leicester will turn up on the day beyond Porto we have Southampton who took care of West Ham today 3-0 away I think these two games will give us a better idea of were things are going 2 victories and happy days anything else and I dread the questions which will be asked.
Callabinho Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 One thing that is really pissing me off is the attitude of "do some people really expect us to finish in the top four again"....erm ****ing yes. Since when did someone (or in this case a collection of people) achieve ultimate sporting success to then not build on it and try to achieve more greatness? It's the most redundant statement I've seen to date on here, I don't want to see my club dwindle away back into the darkness following what happened last season, I want to see us go from strength to strength and continue to upset the upper echelons of football.... Success should breed success, and for me if we finish outside of the top ten this season then it's a short term failure. And whether Claudio is a hero or not he and his team would have failed. I have a love for my football club like nothing else, and it hurts to see this happening to us. And before anyone pipes up "but they spend X amount", we could have done too...obviously not £80odd million on one player, but it took us until the end of the transfer window to splash £20million on a player. Our transfer activity this recent window has been poor.
RonnieTodger Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 Surely now after two 4-1 thrashings, we have learnt the lesson regarding 4-4-2 with no Kante. What's worrying is that we need to play a midfield three away from home and we're struggling to find one player who is worthy of partnering Drinkwater. I accept that it's more of a challenge, but he is literally the only one who looks to have any assurance on the ball. The back 4 were absolutely tragic on Saturday, all 4 of them. We were crying out for a RB in the summer, regardless of how well Danny Simpson does (he's been shite so far), because our back ups are underwhelming. These players all deserve a crack at the Champions League and not to instantly lose their place, but we missed a bit of an opportunity in the summer. For what it's worth, I think we'll be fine but the gap between us and "top" sides at the minute is enormous. We looked great against Swansea and Burnley, yet absolutely hopeless against Hull, Liverpool and United. This was probably harder to take than the Liverpool game, because it felt more of a gift. We were shite against Liverpool, but they were just as good as we were poor.

Our transfer activity this recent window has been poor. Agree entirely. It would be a crying shame if we didn't capitalise on last year's heroics and use it as a springboard to be challenging top 6 on a regular basis. No no left back cover, no proper midfield cover and nothing but ageing centre backs in that position, must have the majority of us questioning the Summer's transfer business, and with three losses in the league already that top 6 looks very unlikely.
RUDZY Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 Substitutions worked well for us at half time. Added a bit more strength in the middle which gave us a bit more confidence to break quickly - resulting in Demarai Gray producing a wonder goal in the style of Riyad Mahrez. If we can stay switched on for 90 minutes and tinker with Maximum Efficiency then we CAN have a good season.LEARNING ALL THE TIME!
