There hasn't really been proper fighting in the grounds for years because segregation is taken very seriously. There will be almost no fighting in the ground at Villa Brum. The problem is the Olympic stadium wasn't built with segregation in mind and they've made a dreadful attempt at altering it. The warning signs have been there for weeks, it was just waiting for West Ham to host one of their local rivals to properly kick off. Lo and behold. I wouldn't call what happened between West Ham and Chelsea as fighting. I remember West Brom "Yooths" throwing coke bottles when they came to the KP last season.
AKCJ Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 West Ham fans handing these out last night. What a complete set of twats.

I think the territorial-ness of football supports creates a better atmosphere. I'm not condoning chair throwing or violence btw. Years ago there was no segregation and games had very lively atmospheres with little trouble. But of course we're much more educated and civilised now.

Wymsey Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 The new ground has really made the perception of West Ham fans as distasteful and pro-Brexit. Felt safe going to Upton Park and their fans were generally alright most of the time then. The FA must decide on sanctioning soon and arresting a dozen people per game won't act as a deterrent.

I personally wouldn't want to integrate with other fans at football, I like the whole stand singing together, which you wouldn't get with integration. But i guess that's just my opinion.

Well they used to do that. They even used to take "weapons" (rattles) in with them. No doubt there was taunting, but it was all done in the right spirit. I've never understood people who seem to spend all the match abusing the away fans and not actually watching the match (which I'm not implying is you by the way! ). I'm not saying that I think it could happen nowadays, it was just more of a comment on modern society.

Unfortunately it's a class thing , most rugby supporters are well educated calm thinking people , most of us are the opposite ....it's a fact not an observation the criminal conviction rate (any crime) for 1000 football fans as opposed to 1000 rugby fans is about 8:1

Of course it doesn't but as I said above those that oppose it will be only too happy to use this as a reason not to allow it. There justifications are not logical so finding reasons to oppose it won't be logical

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 credit to them for trying to get face and payet in there as a rhyming couplet.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOSH Violence in stadiums will always, always be used to justify the status quo, regardless of whether or not it's caused by safe standing. That was Davie's point and he was completely accurate.

Little scraps occur at grounds and in their proximity (including at Leicester) all the time but it's unreported. Every West Ham home game is under the media spotlight at the moment because of the trouble they've had at the new ground. Seems literally every incident/argument/ejection has been picked up on, though this is obviously the most high profile and violent to date. "Little scraps" Did you see the video

It's a point he was making a relevant point while fans continue to behave like animals the chances the authorities will allow safe standing disappear it's a very good observation and a very good point , seriously you can't see that's relevant and a very good observation ??? So funny this thread for what its worth 1) the mixing of the Bobby Moore standing crowd from Upton Park with families that want to sit down is the root cause of the inhouse issues 2) the huge amount of entries and exits to the stadium grounds as well of massive pieces of open ground around the stadium is all adding to making it impossible to police 3) West Ham have on the whole been shit at home and the champions league chasing locals can't face another relegation scrap so they kick off 4) the stewarding is pathetic hundreds of minimum wage 16yo kids incharge of pissed up aggressive white trash from Dagenham is a recipe for a disaster 5) policing is poor at this stadium , last night I saw 4 police officers videoing the trouble while 2 officers try to use Battons in a crush situation , laughable and dangerous , also shockingly the police radio system won't work in the stadium Solution : 1) away fans bussed in and out for rest of season 2) reduce capacity by 10,000 for rest of season 3) lifetime ban for anyone convicted of causing trouble 4) no alcohol in stadium plus Breath testing at turnstiles , anyone twice the legal limit to drive is refused entry 5) 500 extra experience stewards 6) 500 extra policemen West Ham to pay all costs

Breath tests on the turnstiles? We can barely get in the ground before the champions league games when the club tries to search peoples bags. Imagine trying to breathalise around 55,000 people

Was missing infact id ban West Ham fans from eating drinking or sleeping 24 hours before a home game can't fight or cause trouble if your conked out snoozing
fuchsntf Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 But London is the fine, educated, civilised center of the UK...!!
GaelicFox Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 The most shocking info from West Ham today was they have over 50,000 on the waiting list for a season ticket ....WTF to watch that shite
stripeyfox Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 Is John Terry gay? If so, he's done a good job of hiding it. Possibly the worst football chant ever
