ASpursFan Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Hi, I'm a Spurs fan. I don't have anything against you guys really, but I've noticed you guys seem to be starting to hate us a lot and I can't really understand why, so I thought I'd ask you guys why you seem to dislike us. Thanks.
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 It's just a bit of pisstaking after the "we're coming for you" stuff, certainly no genuine hatred from me. (although the widely shared of the Spurs fan on TV who called us nobodies in the title race irked a few people) I'll be cheering you on to win the league if you are up against the Moneychester clubs at the end of the season.
Out Foxed Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 always had a soft spot for Spurs...until last year. Don't like poch or any of your players and your fans were embarassing last year.
CosbehFox Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Arrogance. All as been with Spurs - back in the O'Neill era when we were a better team, achieving more you'd still have Spurs chirping up. 1999 League Cup Final you had Spurs thugs swinging punches at women. Add to that, the bitterness of Pochettino, Verthonghen's complete lack of respect for us, various decisions going against us at White Hart Lane in the past three seasons and a spoiled brat syndrome developing in the likes of Alli/Dier. To top it off, a huge section of Spurs fans who absolutely lost it at the end of last season. Yeah that's it really.
Captain... Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Don't hate Spurs the club or the fans, but with the lack of a traditionally rivalry in the PL they'll do as a go to team to take the piss out of. There is a lot to like about Spurs, good young English team haven't just thrown money around and built their success, but then I can't stand Levy and Dele Ali is showing himself up to be a little shit. The online representation of Spurs fans are a bunch of sad bitter little virgins (fighting cock forum) but all the Spurs fans I know and have met in real life are sound. It's not hatred, it's not even a rivalry, it is just a cheap shot joke because you were coming for us and we are still waiting.
stripeyfox Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Don't hate them but unfortunately for you Spurs were the pantomime viillians last season (oh yes they were) and the retards on Fighting Cocks didn't take it very well. The fact you've spent more than half a century being a "big" club but not actualy winning the league, then actually get a decent team which looked like it would be capable of taking advantage of slip ups by the traditional contenders, only to be well beaten by (p)lucky Leicester. In fairness though, most of the Spurs fans who I actually know were pretty magnanimous in defeat.

Even I find them a good source of comedy
ASpursFan Posted 1 November 2016 Author Posted 1 November 2016 Also, can I just ask why some of you guys dislike Poch. He seems like a nice, down to earth guy and is a great manager.

His whole team lost the plot - totally lost their heads in a game you should have won. He must have felt massively let down by them

His captain did similar His touchline behaviour on Saturday was awful.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 The kind of Spurs fan I detest are the youtubing, social media, mongooses who still somehow proclaim they were robbed of a title they didn't even finish runner up to and 11 points adrift of in the end. We aint used to battling it out with clubs with such a massive media presence and a lot of them don't deserve the air time, all very different to trying to stay up or battling Burnley to win the Championship. So your youtube bloggers army of twitter idiots and Hussain on 606 can take a run off a cliff.
urban.spaceman Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 I was at Wembley in 1999 as a 14 year old so that day will always have bitter memories - I still don't think we deserve to lose but the thing that always sticks in my mind is walking out with my dad and some other fans, we encountered a bunch of drunkards from the nearest pubs whose aggressive behaviour towards children was disgusting (stealing hats and flags etc). Not to mention the whole Andy Impey incident in the actual stadium. However, that feeling did soften a bit a few years later when I moved to New Zealand, and the only job I could get was working in an outdoor shop akin to Blacks/Cotswald. The manager was a Spurs fan who had also been at Wembley 13 years before and completely understood what it was like to support a "crap" team (I think this was the season you lost the first 4 matches under Redknapp). He used to let me come in later on Wednesday mornings so I could watch Tuesday night matches - once he even let me pump Radio Leicester commentary through the store radio. In Auckland. Lovely guy. So I suppose I ended up with a bit of a soft spot, until last season when we won the league. Some of the opinions and behaviour coming from (some) Spurs fans were absolutely hilarious; the sense of entitlement and the popular delusion that you were playing the best football made our victory and you finishing behind Arsenal even sweeter. That said I don't really hate Spurs or their fans just feel a bit of pity towards them. No hard feels though.

I don't have anything against you guys really, but I've noticed you guys seem to be starting to hate us a lot and I can't really understand why, so I thought I'd ask you guys why you seem to dislike us. Thanks. ahhhmmm. let me start, i like alot of spurs players, i don't mind walker, vert, kane, eriksen and dier, i like the moose, i like rose and hugo and i respect alderweireld but, dele on the other hand. he is just the kind of guy that rubs me the wrong way (on the pitch), i watched spurs and alot of times i have seen him picking fights and actually hitting players when they are down, he is a spoiled brat that needs someone to slap the crap out of him, but the one i "dislike" the most is poch,i passionately "dislike" him and every spurs fan that will say "but i trust poch",they are like "poch burned alot of players, but he got us third place so, i trust posh" , "he was a chiken against dortmond, but still i trust poch", "he killed my mother, but she had an "attitude" problem(even though i don't have any proof of a bad attitude), so, i trust posh" i don't like how he deals with player that he doesn't like/want, he freezes them out for a season, then he go on public to say they are "surplus" to recruitment (townsend and bentaleb), and good players like chadli, capou, sigurosson. ohhh and i "dislike" the anti-bentaleb propoganda on twitter, he is bossing the BuLi , 3 goals and two assists for schalke this season, and those people still talk trash about him because he said "i don't regret leaving spurs, and the fans didn't support me", TL;DR: i "dislike" poch, dele and the "i trust poch" fans, but the others are good in my book
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 The arrogance of your lot from last season. Hatred is completely justified imo.
GazzinderFox Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Is it just me or is it a lot less socially acceptable to say 'I hate' any particular football team. When I first started watching Leicester play as a teenager in the 90's I'm pretty sure we hated at least 50% of the other teams we came up against! When I'm sat at home watching a generally neutral game on TV the very thing that makes it interesting is that I generally 'hate' one team more than the other and that's what keeps my interest going to a certain extent. I like watching the aftermath of a cup final or a game that has resulted in a team being relegated because you can guarantee that there will be some shots of grown men crying. And to be honest, that amuses me. Am I really on my own here? I don't lie awake at night fantasising about burning WHL down or anything, but I'm quite comfortable with saying, that in footballing terms, 'I hate Tottenham'.

It's pretty hard to hate anyone after last season. Even Arsenal and their selfies, Spurs and their bitterness, John Moss, every pundit and journo who wrote us off, it doesn't matter because we smashed the league. The teams I used to hate, Derby, Forest, Wolves, Villa, Millwall for various reasons have become irrelevant and a shadow of the clubs that used to think they were better than us, steal our managers and players and regularly take points off us and out perform us. We are not that same club and neither are they. Most rivalries have been put to bed for now. Even Chelsea made it harder to hate them by trolling Spurs and sealing the title for us, although buying Kante has made it difficult to actually like them.
kingcarr21 Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 The thing for me is how everyone still goes on about how Spurs play 'the right way'. What exactly is this phenomenon. How does more possession and higher pass stats = 'The right way'. Well done you keep the ball and pass it around your defense and midfield. Genius. Then you have Spurs fans moaning about our 'long ball' tactics. There is a difference between your traditional long ball tactic of hoofing it to a target man (which for some strange reason people were relating Leicesters 'Long Ball' to this strategy) and us putting the ball into wide areas for players to run into. Pace Pace Pace is what everyone wants now. The sport has evolved to a point where every player needs to have pace. We had pace to burn and ran teams ragged last season. Our style of play blew everyone out the water and we steam rolled to the title. 10 points clear. TEN. That is a massive amount. But no of course the team who finished 3rd played the best football yes of course how silly of me to think otherwise. Even Arsenal finished higher and they had a mare of a season. Yet Spurs fans STILL moan about us being 'anti football'. You scored 1 more goal than us and conceded 1 goal less. Yet we finished 11 points ahead of you. If we beat you by 1 point to the title i could kind of see where Spurs fans were coming from but ffs ELEVEN points. There is absolutely no debate to be had. We tonked the league. Little Leicester made mugs of everyone. If dominating the league is classed as the wrong way to play football then more fool you (You as in Spurs, not you directly) and everyone else who thinks so.
ScouseFox Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 dont hate spurs more than i hate most other teams but i dont think spurs have had a likeable player since about 2003. just cu nt after c unt after c unt. their starting line up from 1 to 11 is just a massive bunch of people who are disgusting. actually thats a bit sly on son, probably a dick but doesn't show it in every minute of his life like the rest of them.
Webbo Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 I've hated Spurs since I was a kid, don't take it personally. If it's any consolation, I hate Man U more.
Jimothy Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 This video didn't exactly make me like Spurs, it's funny now though I've never really like Tottenham though. I think it's the thinking their a huge team with nothing to back it up the irks me about them.
