How can we improve the atmosphere at the KP

Recommended Posts

Fair play to the lads and lasses who've tried to get "We shall not be moved" into these games, realised Group G doesn't scan so just go with "Top of the Champions League" :D

As with all the games so far, the noise at the start was excellent, I felt it went a bit flat because at 2-0 many thought the game was done. Had we gone to 3 or 4 it would've been louder throughout.

Stop singing the 'Ranieri wooah' chant that does my head in and the Andy king song, as he no longer gets the ball or scores a goal

Yeah and whilst we're at it we should get rid of 'come on leicester boys' because no one actually goes wild and 'walk into the Spion Kop' because I haven't seen any head kickings down Filbert St in a long time, nor does the Kop 'roar' very often.

Binning all of the non-literal chants will help solve the atmosphere problem IMO.

Expectation, most I'm sure having seen the 1st game expected us to turn up roll them over, seems we have a lot with this attitude, for the 1st half we made them look like the championship standard they are, the 2nd half however we made them look like dortmund.

We can discuss this to the end of time, it seems our fanbase just isn't that way inclined, lets be honest, which ever way you want to flip it

CL football, under the lights a chance to qualify, playing well, no noise.

2nd Half, up against it, players maybe needed a lift, still no noise.

The clappers need to **** off, but we are stuck with then, so we just have a constant, odd noise, yet can't hear a song lyric for more than 20 seconds before it gets drowned out buy a slightly louder clapper noise.

Agree totally about the clappers.

Get rid!

We were playing great in the first half yesterday, 2-0 up and on our way to the last 16 of the Champions League, and it was still pretty flat. How do you explain that?

Plastics everywhere.:P                         . Whoops my hand slipped, cant delete it

Most of the posts have been " Yes the atmosphere isn't as good" but very few suggestions as to how to improve it. Here is one suggestion. How about before the game the club plays " Rocking all over the world" by Status Que , one of my best memories of supporting City is 40,000 City fans singing that at Wembley in 96. Worth a try. If we get a good atmosphere before the game it tends to carry on into the game.

One of the best chants in big games this season has been "Stand up for the champions". Even the front rows of the east stand get involved for that, but it petered out seconds after SK1 tried to get it going. It's definitely down to us being crap at the minute.

There's no doubt the atmosphere should be better. We've got no divine right to be a top club and there's an evident "can't be arsed" mindset from fans but that's usually reflective of the energy level (or lack of) on the pitch.

I use this as a go to chant when the atmosphere is flat.

Which is exactly when most people don't want to stand up.

Not really an immediate solution, more so end of season, but creating space for union fs to grow its numbers... same can be said for K1 but less likely there I suppose

You know what would improve it? People getting off their arses and singing.

Honestly, it's not rocket science. People just don't want to take responsibility.

People need to stop going to the football waiting for something to happen. Enjoy yourselves FFS.

But it's not going to happen, not nowadays any way, that's why the club needs to take the lead. You go to germany where these so called great atmospheres are, and music gets blasted out through a proper pa system, not a shitty tannoy, which all builds to the anticipation and gets the crowd going. Sorry but that's just how it is.

I assume those that don't sing still enjoy themselves?

Singing we are the champions of England right now makes me feel embarrassed to be honest!

Embarrassed of the greatest achievement our club has ever had in its whole history?

"The atmosphere is so shit every week, all I can hear is the away fans!"

"Where do you sit?"

"In the family stand, directly next to the away fans"
