Ulloa is one of the best finishes at the club. When he doesn't have to think about it, agreed. He's scored one goal for the club when its not been a snapshot first time finish, otherwise he dicks about with it and cuts in and out all the time & inevitably loses the ball.

We'll still have Danny Simpson's searching hoofs up the line... Yeah, but who would Amartey pass to if Wes was on the bench?
foxy boxing Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 He can't do any worse but he just hasn't got any pace and would be a target man so would encourage more long balls upfield which would be like hit and hope. He also needs a run of games to be affective and he just isn't getting any game time so would be very rusty

Andy King, who would rapidly work out what forward options he has, decide that are none, and would play it safe and give it back to Amartey. 2. Andy King again. 3. A member of the opposition. 4. Hospital pass to Mahrez, Simpson, or Albrighton. 5. Shoots, when there's obviously more promising alternatives available. 6. From the resultant throw-in, shows purpose in winning the ball back from the opposition player, and then gives the ball straight back to him.
adam Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 He has been harshly treated this year. Never let's us down. Get him in. Ulloa and okazaki up top on Wednesday.
murphy Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 Maybe we should try him at centre half? Couldn't do any worse.
foxy boxing Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 Leo start the fight back, Leo Leo start the fight back we seek him here, we want him there leo Leo we want you everywhere
totbl Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 I'd like to see him play more, has scored some important goals for us and would be hungry to solidify his place

weller54 Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 I'm beginning to worry about Leo and what he's doing with all his spare time!?
crazyleicester Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 I suppose we could attempt to bypass the midfield because they are so weak at the momentum and have a bit of Slimani and Ulloa hoofball with Gray and Mahrez picking up the knock downs and running at the oppo? It would also help us defending corners. I cant see there being any harm to trying something different. Its no coincidence that Sunderlands change in fortunes occurred since they bought in Anichebe and had someone to hold the ball up and a more physical presence up front. BTW we play hoofball but have the likes of Vardy or Oka trying to win the ball which is pointless.

STUHILL Posted 7 December 2016 Posted 7 December 2016 I think if we are pinning our hopes on Leo, then we are in big trouble Decent enough player and can be useful coming on when we are defending a lead, but offers quite little otherwise. I mean by all means, lets give him a go, as he can't do much worse than Vardy at the moment, but I really don't think he is the answer. Slimani is the guy to start for me, and either with Okazaki if Claudio insists on this 4-4-2, or ideally as part of a front 3, with Gray and Mahrez either side of him.

What style? Literally our only tactic when DD isn't on the pitch is Morgan playing straight balls over the top. Last year Vardy made the effort and made crap balls look like good ones. As the stats about sprints & lack of shots on target & general lack of effort show - he's not trying and is, in my opinion our 3rd choice striker ATM.

How short is some people's memory. Take his goals out of the great escape we would not have a prem title. Not leo's greatest fan but he bailed us out of relegation. I would put money on it if he had vardys time on the pitch this season he would have more than 2 goals. I'm also sure he would not let his Mrs on TV in an arsenal shirt.
Ted Maul Posted 7 December 2016 Posted 7 December 2016 Leo has never let us down; His goals kept us up in 2014/15. He scored goals right at the moments we needed them last season, just when people were expecting us to wobble under adversity- last minute vs Norwich after the Arsenal loss, last minute vs West Ham when down to 10 men, brace vs Swansea with Vardy suspended. We looked a different team when he came on at Spurs- they were turning the screw, and all of a sudden the ball just seemed to stick in the final third, we eased the pressure on the defence and looked like scoring ourselves. I can guarantee you, this man is more than good enough for where we are now. I'd have him in the team above Vardy any day of the week.

My memory is in good working order I of course remember some important goals he scored for us, but also recall the countless times the ball bounced off him and him making an easy chance seem anything but, by being hesitant and clumsy. The argument is now, that Vardy is playing so bad, Ulloa is definitely an option. He won't be match sharp, but you could argue that he will be a lot fresher. If he starts tonight, then lets all hope he has a great game, and he can fill the Vardy void in the short-term. I still personally believe that a formation change where we just need Slimani and have Mahrez and Gray either side, is the more promising option. Prove me wrong Ulloa, I will be more than happy!

FireFox Posted 7 December 2016 Posted 7 December 2016 Played like it mattered in a game that didn't matter. More than you can say about Vardy recently in games that do matter. Even if he is just playing for a move, improved contract, PL sub appearance.
lcfcben76 Posted 7 December 2016 Posted 7 December 2016 I agree, thought he at least showed a bit of desire when he came on
