Post match reaction to Radio Leicester

Hi guys, here are my thoughts today......

1) Musa is not ready for premier league football - why was he bought?

2) Slimani is not worth £30 million - Who else could LCFC have attracted for that money?

3) Ulloa wants to leave - if he does in January we will be in trouble due to African Nations cup. Renegotiated terms needed, he has to start against West Ham.

4) Mahrez slated - he always has been inconsistent, he is human.

5) Chilwell - impressive, outstanding, committed, our best player on the pitch IMHO.

Our first half performance was OK, but after the changes in the second, it didn't work out did it? Unsure why.

We as a team need to get it right, tactically the long ball into the box is not working.

We need a holding midfielder/defender, almost everyone agrees this is a must.

Buying in January will cost a fortune, what committed, good player is going to come to LCFC to help fight a relegation battle?

For £30M per say what would you get?

Never mind performances on balance, when you look at this team, the quality we have in various areas of the pitch, they are too good to go down. The PL is extremely competitive, but come on guys.....

The market is inflated.  Most players go for a lot more than their worth.

Benteke  £30m

Pogba  £89m

Lamela  £30m

There are so many players with inflated prices. That's just the way it is. Slimani is a good player buy has limitations.  I'm still convinced that in a team that's playing well he'll score a lot of goals.  Unfortunately he's currently playing for a side who hoofs it up constantly - notwithstanding Slimani's own poor form.

I think Slimani would score a lot of goals if the side was playing well. Yes, his all around play is pretty shit, but I think he's a good finisher who will score given the chances.

The problem is mostly with the midfield. There is just no creativity there at all. King and Amartey are not creative. Albrighton's crosses are on the whole poor, and Mahrez is off form. Gray didn't too much to impress upon me that he should be starting. Drinkwater being back is hugely important.

Chilwell was easily our MOTM. I'm confident on this display that if Fuchs gets injured that he's good enough to slot in for a run of games.

Ranieri has to take a lot of blame. His signings in the summer weren't good enough. I'd take Kante back over everybody he brought in combined. It's shocking that we didn't use last season's success as a chance to build and improve the squad. And now we are paying for it big time.

To the premier league football on my opinion is almost no one ready, everyone needs time to adapt, Musa is a fantastic player

Concerning Slimani I agree, personally I don't see a place for him in our squad, given Ulloa and Okazaki...i'm full of confidence in Ranieri, but think he's unfair to 2 above-mentioned players and i can't accept his choice...

Mahrez has been my favorite player but he's not showing what he can...unfortunately...maybe he's no incentive...

If we'd have offered 25 million plus Schlupp for Rondon we would have got him. Better than Slimani and already premier league ready.

We already have holding midfielders, we need more creativity in midfield.

Slim didn't look good but against a three most of the time never found the end of some pretty poor crosses. We had endless free kicks to put into the spot area and didn't manage to get anyone on the end of anything.Need to find another way to play through.Vardy Drinks and Mahrez need to be on the pitch

Its the club's fault Slim was £30m for waiting so long and then getting desperate enough to start bidding on teams' best players 2 days before the window ended. Wasn't Slim available for like £21m in July?

Musa was clearly brought in to help us play our long ball counter attack way, but teams know all about that now so we probably won't see the best of him (or Vardy again) until teams go back to thinking we're shit

Would rather have had Benteke for 30m

Was going to say myself, Benteke may miss a few but his work rate is ten times better than Slimani. Slimani relies to much on crosses.

lol tell that to Palace fans. One of Slimani's few positives at the moment is that he keeps trying, keeps showing for the ball and trying to battle, keeps pressing defenders. He's quite passionate and hungry I think, even though he is not working in our current system. Benteke is lazy as fvck.

So Steve Walsh Snr wasn't really the Messiah

It looks like Pearson-Walsh was a more effective team than Ranieri-Walsh, when it came to team-building. The latter obviously nailed it in terms of results!

The manager's role in that relationship used to be for the boss to specify what he was looking for, help narrow down targets and green light the final transfer. It's quite a significant role when you think about it, and the manager's close understanding of how the scout works, his tendencies, weaknesses, is all obviously going to be important.

It's possible that Walsh's role was overstated and Pearson's understated, over time, as a result of people finding ways to rubbish Pearson's contribution. In retrospect it seems like it was a fairly typical interaction between manager and scouting network, as opposed to an all-powerful Assistant constantly flexing his muscles with our transfer policy, until Ranieri could stand it no longer.

Of course, Walsh was probably by-passed more frequently by Ranieri than by Pearson. Inler, Benalouane and Kapustka could well be three examples. And we don't know what input the board / Rudkin might have had.

You're right. He does keep trying & battling. Problem is he's not good at playing football. (At the moment)

Been saying this to my mates for ages, Rondon is quality and so underrated, somebody who would actually improve our squad.

Said the same in June when I watched him at the Copa America. He was outstanding and his work rate and physicality is immense. Unfortunately we wasted too much time and effort on Deeney and Rondon is playing well for West Brom, so will cost a fortune now.

I agree with that a lot. I think for all the signings haven't really added to the team, we have barely played to a single one of them's strengths. For all the stick Musa's gotten, has Albrighton been significantly better?

That's literally the opposite of real life
