Sir Shep Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I think randomly Neil Lennon had a great debut back in the day! Can't for the life of me remember who it was but I seem to recall him having a cracking game. Or was it Muzzy, oh I don't bloody remember!
weller54 Posted 8 January 2017 Author Posted 8 January 2017 Think I also witnessed Frank Large 's first game.. Away to Spurs, Dec 1967.. He was a handful for them and we won 1-0 (Alan Tewley scored)... And Neil Lennon.. Away to Reading (came on at the start of the 2nd half)... If my memory serves me well?
Leamington Fox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Collymore (if the thrashing of Sunderland at home was it) had an incredible debut. I can't think of a better one. It all fell apart so quickly afterwards. I remember taking a mate of mine from Uni whom I had gradually converted to be a City fan over three years. It was his first ever visit to Filbo. He loved it. He is now- I sh*t you not- a buddhist living in California with no access to Sky Sports. Funny old game.

Corky Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 It wasn't Collymore's debut, he played at Watford a couple of weeks before.

ramboacdc Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 i like Paul Gallagher's debut. Barnsley was it?
Corky Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Waghorn and N'Guessan both scored on their debuts to help us beat Swansea, as subs too.

Lennon made his debut away at reading and gave away a penalty and Izzet made his debut against Sheffield Utd in the infamous MON out game. So not amazing debuts. Ryan Smith - away at Derby, came on at half time and looked amazing. Thought he'd go on and play for England. Left Arsenal for Derby and god knows what happened to him. Probably works at Tescos.

All round had a good game though.

foxes21 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Ryan Smith Vs Derby on loan from Arsenal. Came off the bench and looked like Henry.

red5 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I remember at Bury saying, this new guy(Gokhan Inler)looks crap, but the little black lad in the middle(N'Golo Kante) looks great.
Chico1958 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Shilton................ Impresssed the Management so much they sold the Great Gordon Banks He was only 16 or 17 I think
urban.spaceman Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Full home debuts seem so be a thing with our club. Collymore hat trick against Sunderland (Ohhhh Stanley Stanley...), Cambiasso scoring against Man Utd in the 5-3, Slimani grabbing a brace against Burnley.
Sir Shep Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 If we are on about home debuts I think a Heskey came on against Norwich and helped change the game, I think though his debut was against QPR away.

Steve Earle Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Diomansy Kamara - unbelievable debut, but utter shite a few weeks later...
