How do YOU define a Leicester 'legend'?

For me, its as simple as asking yourself, "which are my favourite Leicester City players ever?" (which would be from the ones I've seen)

The first players that come into your head may or not be legends, but 9 times out of ten they will be.

Matt Elliot, Emile Heskey, Tony Cottee, Steve Claridge, Muzzy Izzett, Neil Lennon, Ged Taggart, Steve Guppy, Gary Parker, Martin O'Neil, Nigel Pearson, Claudio Ranieri and Season 15/16 Team.

Interesting thread. I think that in order to achieve legendary status at a club, an individual needs to combine length of service with some measure of significant accomplishment. Someone like Kevin Russell for example, or David Speedie should be thought of as ''cult figures'' rather than ''club legends''.

For what it's worth, here is my list of people who I think deserve the status of Leicester City legends:-

Adam Black

Septimus Smith

Arthur Chandler

Mal Griffiths

Arthur Rowley

Matt Gilles

Graham Cross

Gordon Banks

Peter Shilton

Frank Worthington

Keith Weller

Alan Birchenall

Mark Wallington

Gary Lineker

Steve Walsh

Martin O'Neill

Emile Heskey

Muzzy Izzet

From the current era, I think that we will be able to add the names of Ranieri, Morgan, Mahrez and Vardy to the list, but not Kante because his time at the club was too short.

Everyone of the 14-15 regulars of last season. Never to be forgotten! :)

Quite agree, all of those last season save Kante. They've have been many over the years, those who have been loyal and dedicated to the Club and happy to play and achieve milestones and certainly not those like Cambiasso the so-called one season wonder!!

In light of tonight's events I think Alan birchenall is the ultimate legend,

from on the pitch to off the pitch and his charity work,he is the whole package

Should have been knighted years back for his charity work. Hope he's still around to make the next list.

Amen to that.

Whatever you think of him around matchdays and all that, the work he does for charity and representing the club is first class. When he does retire he'll be a huge loss to the club and very tough to replace.

The recent events with Birch emphasises the need of a statue outside the ground of him.

One of the club's best legends.

Mike Stringfellow anyone?

Was at the club for a thousand years...Scored 80 odd goals....Still lives in Leicestershire... Tipped Leicester to win the league back in December 2015, etc, etc, etc...

There's absolutely no doubt that Birch is a club legend. In many ways as someone whose in their late 20's, it only dawned on me yesterday that I don't remember a time the Birch wasn't out there getting us up for the game or doing something for charity. I really hope he gets back out there as soon as he can.

Woth regadds to players, muzzy izzet, matt Elliot, Steve guppy et all are all legends in my opinion. Of course the 15/16 team simply for doing the impossible. But out of the crop there are 3 players I will probably remember and tell the kids about in years to come.

1) Jamie Vardy-for beating the record last season and for the fairytale that went with it.

2) riyad Mahrez-simply for being the most gifted and special player I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt. Some of the stuff he has come out with has been magical to watch.

3) Andy king. I know this is controversial choice but for me anyone that has been at a club for 10 years has got to be up there. Add in to that this guy has been with the club from the worst times in the clubs history to the very best, he has a place in legendary status surely.

And finally managers. For me there are 3 again. Martin o Neil, Claudio ranieri and Nigel Pearson. Pearson put the title winning side together, Claudio added the tactical advantage.
