We're not on course for 40 points.

Nope we are on course for 36 which should be enough, however if we get worse which on current showing is possible and Hull Swansea(already signs) palace or boro go on a decent run then we are in trouble.

Does everyone really think that Ranieri is going to take us down?

He took over a bottom of the Premiership side and led them to the Premiership title. The team seems to be having the same hangover as Chelsea last year. Many pundits predicted us to struggle. Ranieri himself said we want 40 points, and we're still on track for that.

So let's help him raise the Titanic and see this season out. Sink or swim, do it with a grin.

All kind thoughts greatly appreciated. And any miserable b*ggers go to another thread.

Lets be honest Ranieri landed on a perfect storm last season, credit to him for the way he set the team up and credit to him for somehow keeping the players head on it for 38 games, but lets not pretend he's turned into Alex Ferguson over night. He's managed some massive teams during a 21 year managerial career and aside from last season he's won one major trophy.

You can discuss his postive and negatives all you want but the simple fact of the matter is he's far from too good a manager to take us down.

And unless my maths is missing something we are on track for 36 points.

He can go back to 442 as "that's what his players are good at", but he needs to remember we started the season in a 442 and we've looked dreadful all season.

I think he's losing his mind (and I'm not trying to sound derogatory - I genuinely think he's losing his marbles), and I think he's lost the key players, the others will follow soon too.

Our team is stale and in places very thinly spread.  I don't think he did a very good job in pre-season.  I don't think he's the man to take this club forward, starting with turning around this shower of shit.  Some of the players he's brought in are just diabolical.  And trying to shoehorn Drinky out on the right side is a joke - it will never work.

I'm sick of hearing "well he won you the league, he deserves to stay at Leicester until he dies".  It's not like us 'moaners' are asking to win the league again, or even end up in the top 6 (or top half!!!)  - I just expect my team to work their bollocks off, work as a team and actually put a real shift in.  If they do that and give everything, but we still lose, I can't be mad at that.  We're not showing any of that this season.  I don't even think under Pearson's last season we were played so off the park by as many teams.  At least we gave it a good ****ing go under him.  I need some of that nasty grit back at this club right now.

Last season Claudio was always saying the target is forty points, was that a prediction for this season! something is not right at the club because you can definately see it in players attitudes.fans will get behind the team but it works both ways with the players needing to give the fans something to cheer about

Based on what from this season?

You cant limit peoples thoughts to just this season. It doesnt work that way.

There are arguments for and against Ranieri continuing - and we should be getting behind the team whether or not we think he should stay.

But let's not distort history (see amendment above).

It's difficult to get behind a team that show so little pride, spirit or determination, I'm not talking ability or skills here just 3 basic requirements that every player should give week in week out.

We could play 9 at the back and still lose.

we could play 9 at the upper end  of the pitch & still not scored

i doubt it is 442.. i bet you can try 3331 or 4321 or 2242 - and it would still be the same

Hmmmm...cup final and drop anyone? I'm thinking we should be without Ranieri henceforth, I've completely lost faith in his ability to communicate his ideas to the team (by his own admission post match interview). Getting my kicks by watching videos of last season rather than the sh1t that's being served up currently.

Yes.

We lack absolutely everything and along with Palace and Sunderland we are possibly the worst side in the division.

We don't create chances and we cannot keep clean sheets.

Here are my positive thoughts on our current situation

Yeah, I've got nothing!

So If I want back to some time after that Stoke game all those years ago and told you we would be above the relegation zone in the prem and looking forward to a fourth round tie with the sheepshaggers and a last 16 tie with Sevilla in the cl, you would say "Ah crap nothing positive to look forward too.'

Perspective please!

Indisputable facts. Palace look rotten but Sunderland made us look like Wigston girls team. The portents are not good.

I'm still loathe to say 'sack him' but a huge improvement must be seen against BOTH Derby and Burnley, otherwise time will have run out. In the grand scheme of things, the Derby game isn't important but we are getting worse on a weekly basis and immediate improvement is required to try and get on some sort of roll. Being humped by the big hitters is one thing (though still unacceptable when it happens almost every time) but a woefully out of form Southampton were given a stroll in the park.

The odd bad performance can always be forgiven but i start to worry when we play to league 1 standard EVERY week.

The performances put in are shocking and to think what some of these players are earning / worth is crazy given our position.

Not once have we been 'unlucky' to lose, we have been poor and if anything have been LUCKY to not loose some games (when we robbed Middlesborough).

I know someone will refer me to the win against Man City but if the truth be known we capitilised on some suicidal tactics by their manager.

I like the optimism on this thread but the concerns and danger of relegation are very much real and i struggle to see where we begin to turn it around.

I would like to see us beat Swansea however having seen then against Liverpool i think we will come away with a sore arse.

I admit yesterday was poor but the negativity from some of the fans behind me was unreal, I know we need results quickly but some dont see the overall picture

I think you're the one who's missing it.

- We got 21 points in 22 games.

- Hull and Swansea seem to have turned up.

- We got easily trashed by a team that lost 4 of their 5 last games and struggled to win more by more than 1 goal.

- We got one point out our away games and began to lose at home too.

- We got 1 goal for in 5 games and conceding to no end.

- It's the end of january and we still don't know what's our starting XI or which formation suits us.

- The next fixtures ain't easy.

But keep telling yourself that the fans are just overreacting and everything will be okay.

You are comparing two totally different situations.  We were once relegated to League One.  Does that mean you would see positives in us being 18th in the Championship?

I will be satisfied , if the players see the real picture...

I suggest, zulu, Alamo, escape to victory,  Even Custers ( Claudios) Last  stand...Not forgetting 'they died with their boots on'

OR the Mona lisa. Claudios wry and secret smile.....

Or just to set us up for the Big R....'Crash dive'
