sylofox Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Neither him or Wes should even be on the bench. Drop them both till march then let them fight for a bench spot. Get rid of both in the summer if anyone is stupid enough to pay them what we do. Just give them away if need be.
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 His return rate is beyond poor and anyone else would have been benched a long time ago. That said, it's not all his fault. His service has also been poor and his confidence has suffered. A few goals and he would probably be flying again. Vardy does always offer that threat of getting something out of nothing and benching him would probably make us even less of an attacking threat than we are now.
WardyisPukka Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Only way i can see us scoring goals is if we drop vardy and try the slimani albrighton again combination and thats it. 4321 with slimani upfront
foxes21 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 clutching at straws here but don't we have any youngsters we can throw in? the senior players aren't performing & the youngsters would actually try. pascanu, chilwell, choudhury, kapustka, muskwe, recall barnes & lawrence???

Look at this guy ^ - stick that up front with Slimani and we'd score more ****ing goals at the moment. Good call. Don't think a bench can be offside or indeed booked for anything. Do it!

NewquayFox Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Transfer window is closed so unless we have a bench already we are fooked....

No i would say the defence are the problem Morgan huth and Simpson are the ones hitting aimless long balls every time if are defence could pass would help a lot

He's living off last season's achievements and looks completely out of confidence. That shot that went out for a throw-in was a joke. And the corner in injury time that didn't get over knee height. Cant just blame Vardy though. At least 6/7 just don't really look interested in playing .

jon1bc Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Bench him and replace him with who? Our demise does not stem from Vardy. The quality of balls coming through to him is poor and he cannot be blamed for that. I think he's been unfaily criticized and resented because of his high wages.
Guest Danny Clender Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 He's a very good example that any player can be sold, we would not have missed him this year at all. Such a shame he's not got the intense belief to have a consistent season in a row.

But whenever he is on the pitch everyone seems to forget how to play football and we end up playing this fast hoofball that teams easily deal with.
jon1bc Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 He has a couple of half chances and one which he probably should have scored.. is that bench worthy?

SecretPro Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Id drop Vards and Drinky for the foreseeable. Vardy has been atrocious, forget the service for a moment and look at the other aspects of his game eg. closing down, chasing, trying to win the ball himself, dropping in when needed, its all shite. One game pre Christmas he had 6 touches. All game. Keep hearing about Service, and true to an extent, but Slimani has been without service, more so if you consider him a target man (nobody putting balls in the box) and yet he is statistically our best forward this season. Top of Goals, Second in Assists, Top of Aerial duels, Responsible for half of our points total in all competitions, work-rate very high and always drops in to collect the ball, try and create his own chances and help midfield, YET he gets slated on here as being shit, a waste of money etc on the basis that he is new and not one of the boys. Vardy is playing because up to this point, the Fans and the Manager are blinkered to the fact he's been shit, blue tinted specs lot on here would still be cheering him on if he pissed on their wives. Rarely, until now has he faced criticism and anyone that does criticise has been given short-shrift on here. He isn't interested and to be frank, could well be a one trick pony. He seems incapable of changing/adapting his game and now that he's been found out tactically, that could be the end for him.
Rusko187 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 What a perfect opportunity to get Ulloa back onside, drop Vardy and start Ulloa (if fit).
EGBFitness Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Yeah good idea, lets bench our only fit and (can be) effective striker. We all know he has a big time Charlie ego so I'm sure some time on the bench will help stroke that. Yes his goal return has been poor this season, his magazine covers etc hasn't helped the situation and he doesn't seem as committed as he looked last season but if a team are failing to supply their striker how on earth are you expecting him to score in the first place!? Would be interesting to see his chance to game ratio
DeepBlueSomething Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 I cannot understand the logic. If you give Vardy chances, he can score. His problem is the lack of chances he's being given. He's not a chance self-creator type of forward and needs feeding opportunities to prosper. If the team isn't giving him chances, how can he score? Who else are you going to put there, seriously? Imagine the furore on here if somehow Gray was put up front, was provided with 5 chances and failed to score. If Vardy was getting a boatload of chances and failing to score, you'd have a point. As it is, that's not happening so you're picking on the wrong player.
foxes21 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 players who need to be benched before vardy: simpson, morgan, huth, fuchs, drinkwater, gray, albrighton
