ousefox Posted 4 February 2017 Posted 4 February 2017 Yep I'd rather have Musa come in tomorrow and I don't think much of him. Any alternative is better at the moment.
Guest Danny Clender Posted 4 February 2017 Posted 4 February 2017 Jamie Vardy is not scoring goals this season, therefore he should not be in the starting 11, neither should he be on the bench.
Izzy Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I noticed on that tunnel cam thingy yesterday that all the players arrived suited and booted looking smart with their club tie on. Except for Vardy. No tie, top button undone, looking like he'd just come in from a night on the piss. No 'big deal' I know, but what gives him the right to break the rules? Just looks slack, lazy and disrespectful to me. If players are allowed to get away without following the dress code, I wonder what else they're allowed to get away with? Tough discipline is what's needed right now, so buck your ideas up young man.
STUHILL Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I agree that Vardy has been below the standards he set last year, especially his work rate, however, the rest of the team have to take a huge responsibility for his lack of goals. Imagine having Fellaini in the team, and only ever playing balls over his head or through balls for him to use his pace...Absurd right? That is the same as what we are doing with Vardy. We are playing long, floated balls for him to try and win in the air. No real balls over the top or through balls for him to run on to. The rest of the team have to start playing to his strengths. Stop treating him like a Fellaini target man type player!

foxy boxing Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 the party has indeed fallen flat, the sweet music just isn't there anymore and all the good looking girls have gone home. there is just the rubbish on the floor and only the drunk guys are hanging around dreaming about how good it was last year and this years party is going down like a lead balloon. but wait the barman has just said last orders is the party about to get going again!!! do we have one last swansong!
Max Power Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Has anyone who has been paid that much money per week ever had such a poor first touch? It's genuinely awful. He's worse than he was when he first arrived but at least then he worked hard. Should be nowhere near the starting XI.
nnfox Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Vardy has made it, has nothing to prove and has put his feet up. His hunger has gone. I don't buy all this BS about the rest of the team not playing to his stregths, the guy gets paid 100k per week to score goals yet he hasn't scored in something like 22 of his last 23 games. If the team aren't playing in a way that suits him then he needs to be dropped and replaced by someone who can play to our strengths. Sad to say, but he is being carried by the team at the moment and we can't afford any passengers.
Fox 4 Life Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Just shows confidence is everything, last year his first touch, vision, passing everything was unbelievable, obviously the goals were great but his all round game was almost perfect. I remember thinking how does someone excel so quickly and improve almost every facet of their game in one season. Well that has well and truly gone, he looks completely disinterested and has zero confidence, he won't even really run at people anymore.
lgfualol Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Said it before, but the sooner he is out the side the better. When he plays, particularly with Slippy Okazaki we play so negatively and can barely keep the ball because it is programmed into our players' heads to smash it forward as fast as possible. Doesn't work anymore. The fact he seems to still be the first name on the team sheet after so many similar performances is bizarre.
foxinmyhouse Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I dont see how anyone can watch the matches and blame vardy for all the problems. The team as a whole is not creating anything at all. You could have any striker playing up top for us at the moment and there would be no difference. I made a comment earlier in the season again on a vardy thread, that we were behind the team at the bottom in the stats for passing, possesion, chances created, tackles, shots etc. Im sure those stats are probably still the same now. Take vardy out of the team but nothing will change, the problem is in midfield and defence. Players in midfield hold onto the ball far to long and end up running into trouble or passing back to the keeper who then kick it up field and we lose possesion. I dont understand why footballers are just not told to do simple first time passes to the closest player and move up the pitch that way.
southfox66 Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I was going to say the same thing foxinmyhouse, the service up to Vardy has been awful this season, the number of over hit and stray balls this season has been a big fact and reason probably looks bad is, as fast as he is he never going to get to most of them, even Kasper's distribution has been pretty poor this season and Drinkwater is failed to make those pin point through balls, but that probably down to us playing so deep in our own half and having no shape in the build up play. When Vardy did get decent service, he got a hat trick against Man City.
Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Vardy's been shite this year - so should start on Wednesday. No point resting him - he needs the practice! THE most important game we've had this season is next Sunday. Lose that and we're really fvcked. I hate to say it but the FA no longer matters. If he cant score at home against Derby then he really is in trouble. We need to use that game as a warm-up for Swansea. Start your "best" 11 and try and build some self-belief for Sunday.

That's true of football in general. But it would be erronoeous for me to take any credit for what Jamie has done or what the team has done. I'm just a very small cog in a very well oiled machine.' Whatever has happened this season with Vardy, Ranieri's decision to remove the sports psychologist who worked with him one to one will have had effect. Why even think about taking apart a well oiled machine?

Vardy scored so many goals last season by running in behind, and every manager but Pep knows what to expect. Unfortunately this is the only way he is able to play when he is so out of form, and I think it is affecting the whole team and why he has sat in the pockets of nearly every defender this season.

Yesterday the hoofs seemed to expect vardy to win in the air against bailey and smalling. I thought we were supposed to play thru balls or over the top for a race
TiffToff88 Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Not too sure he's bothered if he plays or not. He has a book and a movie to promote, as well as a wanna be posh&becks lifestyle to attain with the Mrs. Football just gets in the way of counting his money
ZeGuy Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Doesn't belong to the starting XI anymore. Period.
AjcW Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 I think him and DD will wake up a bit when they're dumped out of the England squad in a few weeks.

There are so many factors at play to why everyone is shit I'm not sure if I have just blocked them out of my memory, but I can really only remember us scoring goals from crosses or passes along the floor.

Pretty much what I was thinking, get the film scrapped. Out of the England team and he might start to wonder. I often wonder was detriment him getting in the England team was. When he played for them I always thought to myself, why isn't he playing like he normal does. Chasing balls down etc. I wondered if he's picked up something from England where he's been told to not do that... or he's just billy big bollocks now.
HoustonFox Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 He looks like he is trying to me. Service is awful, and I don't think anyone is looking up before hitting it long. He was chasing and harrying more (not to same levels as before) but got little else. He's proven with a few goals for England that he can finish as well, as go over the top. I also think he's lost half a yard of pace, and looks a little heavier. Pairing him with Slim (if he is ever fit) should help. Final point. What other options are there if we do drop him? Slim and no one? Shinji? Musa? Maybe just start Admiral Muskwe and Raul Uche up top?

Gary Neville was saying that Vardy needs to go back to being a pest and having the attitude of a non-league striker. So I'm not sure he has been involved in changing his game. 12 minutes ago, HoustonFox said: Final point. What other options are there if we do drop him? Slim and no one? Shinji? Musa? So why does Kasper NEVER roll or pass the ball out to defence/midfield so they can thread the ball through in the way Vardy used to love. Robert Huths new name should be Robert HOOOF. When we play it on the ground we always look so much better and more confident.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 Moves in to his new 2.5 million pad this week. Has a large clear glass section of floor on one of the upstairs corridors that could prove interesting.
