It doesnt matter who signed them originally - they were clearly good enough last year so it shouldnt come down to ability, it comes to motivation, tactics, confidence etc, all of which Ranieri plays a huge part in. What does the fact that NP signed them have to do with anything? If they weren't good enough Ranieri should have cleared them out
EGBFitness Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 21 minutes ago, Struwwelpeter60 said: Yes and no. Slimani and Vardy had two perfect chances and wasted them. Again. If they score, it's 2:2. If Schmeichel hadn't thrown the ball directly to a Swansea player, it wouldn't have been 0:2. Remember, Schmeichel did the same mistake at Hull and it also cost us dearly. Zieler would have been slaughtered here, if he had done the same. Wrong subs? In the second half we had Slimani, Vardy, Mahrez and Gray on the pitch. Did we really have better attacking options on the bench, which CR should have played instead? If you think so, please name them. Not enough crosses into the box. Right, but I doubt, that Ranieri told Gray, Mahrez, Fuchs,Chilwell, Amartey & Co. not to play crosses. Morgan, Huth Should be benched. But are Benalouane and Wague really up to it in the PL and CL? I doubt it, but would give them a chance to prove me wrong. Whoever is responsible for not bringing in two good defenders in the last two transfer windows, should be fired. Especially, because it must have been clear to the guys in charge, that the announced crackdown on holding/blocking in the box would turn Huth and Morgan from big assets into huge liabilities. But nothing happened. At least, it seems so. Hard to understand. Yes slim should have put that chance away, from where I was sitting Vardys looked like a half chance (if we are talking about the same chance) yes if these had gone in it could of been 2-2 but if I remember rightly I think these was our only 2 chances about the whole game? For a team who seen the majority of possession for the second half it's still poor to create so little especially in the circumstances of the game. I think Kasper was at fault for the Hull game and remember him getting abit of grief about it, I wouldn't hold him accountable for their second goal today though - it was poor marking/defending that allowed Swansea space down in our RB position - Simpson out of position and Albrighton not tracking/marking properly, remember it was their LB who scored... he shouldn't of been able to get into that position alone. For a game we was chasing that could be vital to our season then yes the subs was poor - a LB and RB who didn't seem to be through injury. Maybe that's poor team selection which lays with CR? Once again down to his options on the bench is his decision! I'm sick of hearing what his options are from the bench when he is the man who picks the bench! On top of that he had Musa, Shinji and even King! Yes we had Grey, Vardy, Slim and Mahrez on the pitch but we was 2-0 down and not even challenging Fabianski - maybe one of those players needed to come off our one of the ones mentioned needed to come on rather than changing full backs. In regards to options of the bench from what I said previously, last season our only attacking option off the bench was Ulloa so he has more to play around with now too. Obviously I don't know what CR is asking for, don't think he knows himself either but beings as we seem to have no winger on the right and Grey seems to be encouraged to take player on/ take it to the touchline it doesn't feel like he is encouraging crosses into the box. Felt as if Slim was bought on to knock the long balls on to Vardy to chase. Im not sure if Wague or Benny are better? It is a problem we are now facing - defence is a problem with changes as you need good communication and organisation to have an effective back line so 2/3 changes isn't always the best outcome. Obviously he whole back line isn't performing, not trying to get carried away with Derby result but a Chilwell has been pushing for a start for little while now and had good game midweek so could of deserved a start today (maybe HT sub suggests that?) and surely atleast trying Benny is better than never knowing at all? Especially as Huth imo has been the worse out the 2 CB's and Benny looked to put in a decent display midweek. To constantly overlook options after weeks of poor defensive performances is only going to allow low morale/motivation for the squad especially players who are being overseen. Agree someone needs to be held responsible and sacked for failing to strengthen this area though, especially knowing the gap/protection being left from Kante.
char123 Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 hes gotta do something and quick. my personal opinion would be to try something like this kaspersimpson amartey benny chilwellkapustka mendy ndidi gray slimani musakapustka and gray to swing crosses in for slim and musa there to win any knock downs. its probably not our strongest but we have everything to gain and nothing to lose cuz if it dont change soon we are doomed!!Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Number 6 Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 I think people are making inferences about the way we played because if the end result and lack of positivity around the place. That's not to say I'm saying it was good, but we did create some chances today, maybe more than Swansea. It's not every day the opposing CB sticks a volley away like that and I've no idea what Kasper was doing for the second. Subs were OK. Changing a defensive full back for a more attacking on IS an attacking change. Gray was good for me, lots of effort to create. Vardy and Slim, although not taking the chances, did get in positions to score. We're at low on confidence at the moment that were snatching at chances. Problem is that confidence could be battered before our next winnable PL game. We've got a tough FA cup game and then tough games against Pool and Sevilla before the Hull game comes around. Strongly suspect we'll be in the bottom 3 by then, and think it may be Claudio's last chance.

To now say they are Pearsons players is pathetic excuse. Yet he has spunked £70 million and all of them are still playing.. what does that tell you
elvisfmcfly Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 Starting to care less now about this shit, unacceptable from owners downwards,we got what we deserved last season we will get what we deserve this season, each loss I'm less angry and more resigned to championship football, only we could go that high to that low.

Yep, same here Its become one, very poor, joke. We've got plonkers on here saying that Ranieri isn't to blame and that it's all the players fault..well who's the bloody manager? The club has been run in a shambolic way since the summer. We've signed some rubbish, we've not signed players we should have done. We've given players enormous contracts Ranieri has turned into a laughing stock. The owners don't appear to have the faintest clue what's going on. It's all a bloody mess and, incredibly, unless it miraculously turns around, we look like playing back in the Championship again. Ridiculous, ridiculous, ridiculous.

For me disagreements on signings with Ranieri, shit atmosphere,Ranieri's bizarre team selections and picking the same shit over and over.all in all Rudkin and Ranieri need to go,cause no ones telling me we are where we should be when Burnley and Watford sre comfortable mid table!

henry's horn Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 I am really not surprised by this result. I don't think its tactics or the manager. The players are just not interested anymore. Last year, the fixture list helped. We didn't play Arsenal till October time. By that time we built a winning mentality and even though we did lose we had belief to win the next game. Now it's almost as if we've lost a few games into the season and all players have gone "well we're never going to beat last season" and just gave up. I don't think any Leicester fan expected to match last season, we just want to see the same fight and desire. Personally, a top half finish and plans for progression would have been more than enough. But instead we are seeing these dire efforts. Of course, some may disagree but this is what I'm seeing Schmeichel - one of the good guys. Not much more he can do. Morgan and Huth - championship quality at best. Now getting found out now they ain't got Kante to hide behind Fuchs - looking more disinterested by the game now he's found out the league ain't so easy Vardy - looks like he is trying but can't be easy knowing he could be in the top 4 had he gone to Arsenal. I guess he had to stay knowing his film would be mainly based on what he's done with Leicester. Mahrez - so wanted to leave. No one came in so he took ud for £100k (or whatever stupid wage he's on) a week instead. Gray and Ndidi - the only outfielders putting in effort. Says a lot that the only 2 decent players are a young players who have only been here for a year, one of which only a few weeks. The rest - just look traumatised they ain't able to live up to last season, which no one expected. They should all be ashamed. They are idolised here in Leicester. Can't walk down a road without seeing them some painted on a wall. Right now it's looking like a waste of paint.
Kasey Keller Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 Just pull the fecking team out the hat....we can't get any worse, All these formations and players topics on here are doing my fecking head in....iam sure iam not the only one.

Agree with both you and Col. We will get exactly what we deserve, whether we do another great escape or pick up and move away from the relegation zone or worst case go back to the championship. It's puzzling how something so right last season, can't string a sentence together, never mind a few passes to one another. If the blame is to laid, it is collective blame, board, Claudio, Jon Rudkin, players and that is it. Not one singular person is to blame. It's us the fans that suffer, the ones who make this club what it is, through thick and thin. As you rightly say, we should be sat shoulder to shoulder with Burnley and Watford in mid table. To be quite honest, the thing that worries me the most, Swansea looked nothing special at all and were there for the taking-we just couldn't capitalise.

Im sorry I cannot feel sorry for them, or accept the lack of quality and commitment this season, that has led to us being in this position. We have seen what they are capable of, and if we had played half as good as last season, we would be safe now. I think they need to look at themselves, stop sulking, and feeling sorry for themselves, and talking a good talk in the press, and start playing like the results hurt them, like they just give a fook, as for me they haven't shown any of that all season
SuperMike Posted 12 February 2017 Posted 12 February 2017 REALLY, REALLY SORRY - BUT WE'RE DOOMED AFTER THIS RESULT AND PERFORMANCE.
