The Ipswich Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 What a player! Thanks for the loan, we're all kind of hoping we buy him, but he'll probably go for more than we can afford. As you won't be going down, do you think you might keep him? He's no Mahrez admittedly, but he's too good for the kickers and hoofers in the Champs. Best wishes for the rest of the season - any team who breaks the monotony of Chelsea/Man City winning the league deserves their place in it for years to come.

And thats exactly the sort of football we play.

Tom Lawrence is our no.10 next season in the championship, he would walk into our current pathetic 11 if we could recall him
Swarles Barkley Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 With rudkin in charge of transfers you could probably put in a bid of mcgoldrick and a haribo and it would probably get accepted
The Ipswich Posted 13 February 2017 Author Posted 13 February 2017 You'll not recognise this league now. Even when you were in League One, I bet it had more quality than the Championship does at the mo. We beat Villa on Saturday away and they've spent more on one striker than we have on our whole team since about 2010. Then you've got your 'never going up's' like Derby and Reading, and your 'never going down's' like us and Forest.....it's football as played by John Beck and Charlie Hughes circa 1991.
StanSP Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 he's obviously going to sign permanently for you and score a hat-trick at the KP on the first day of the season against us.

You can have Jonathan Douglas, Luke Chambers and a packet of Refreshers? Or a couple of Mojo's thinking about it. Our owner probably can't stretch to the Refreshers.
Gerard Posted 14 February 2017 Posted 14 February 2017 How good do you think he is @The Ipswich ? He only played for us a couple of times as sub and looked way out of his depth. Is he your best player, would he get in a Championship XI?

He's carrying our current bunch of herberts and we're halfway in the league. He's energetic, pacey, scored some fabulous goals (he's the only entrant so far in our local rag's Goal of The Season competition with four of his strikes) and he never stops running. Influenced players like McGoldrick to start playing better. Mick McCarthy must thank him for saving his job daily. And yes, we're shit and yes, we know it and yes, we're sick of it. It's only the odd laughs we get, like at Villa on Saturday (should have seen their supporters' faces when that 83rd minute winner went in) and the fact we've got Burton, Rotherham and Wigan in the division keeping us up that keep us going. Without Lawrence, I'd have quit me ST long, long ago. And I've been a regular since 1992.

If Lawrence is half decent, then he'll be off in the summer if he's got any sense. Good luck to him.

There but for the grace of god if your owner ever loses interest and stops investing, citing FFP as the reason (when every other club in the Championship, even Rotherham who paid more in transfer fees than us, couldn't care less about it and even the Football League don't punish anyone who doesn't adhere to it). 5 minutes ago, Wookie said: My thoughts on Ipswich: 1 minute ago, Wookie said:

You're better than those three, even if current form is shaky. I've already had twenty quid on it.

We've lost 5 in a row, no league goals in 2017, no goals in 10 hours of league football, no away win all season. I think we're the worst team in the league, and that the table will reflect that before long. The manager desperately needs replacing, but it's not going to happen in time.
Fox92 Posted 14 February 2017 Posted 14 February 2017 He scores goals and creates chances from midfield.... should be playing for us.

Is it really that bad I'm not looking forward to the championship if I'm honest, especially as it will cost me more to watch the likes of yourselves, leeds, wolves no doubt than it does to go away in the premier league now. But i was pleasantly surprised but the quality of league one years ago, surely a few of the teams, hate to say it but Norwich etc actually play on grass.

The whole world smiles Posted 14 February 2017 Posted 14 February 2017 the home game where Leo scored and we won 1-0? strange I have no memory of him playing, getting old i guess!
