The American left is about equivalent with the centre in most of Europe - that's how much the Overton window is shifted to the right over here. You know, I'm reminded of something at this point - I think it was @MattP who actually discussed the idea first of whoever winning in 2016 facing an utter shitshow and it all coming tumbling down on them, their administration and their party. We'll never know if the Dems/Hillary would have turned out differently, but there seems to be more and more merit to that as time goes on.
