The media brainwashing fans

These days, there is so much information available, it's reached the point where you simply don't know who, or what, to believe. There is an argument and a counter argument for everything. White can be pretty much made black and black can be pretty much made white, with the right argument or the right lawyer.

This forum, in my opinion, epitomizes this. Opinion, counter opinion swings back and forth like a pendulum or a metronome.

What you tend to do is to seive out the wheat from the chaff. For example, I'll never listen to or believe Paul fookin Merson. Average player, turned pundit, who seems to thrive on sensationalizing everything and talking an awful lot of bollox.

What I won't do though is to ignore information, like it never existed. There is usually no smoke without fire and it's clear that something must have gone on between Claudio, the staff and the players this season. We'll probably never know the full facts, but in my own mind, I've developed a mental picture of what I think has happened.

And that's really all you can do in the absence of hard facts.

Another myth that's doing the rounds is if Ranieri finished 15th last season he'd still be in a job  Swansea and Palace finished around there and they've said ed their managers this season. Swansea have sacked 2.

Lots of drivel and media witch hunt against our club.  No analysis. No stats. Just a lot of emotional garbage.

If we'd have finished 15th last season Ranieri would have been gone by Christmas.

What makes it worse is the sheer sense of entitlement used to talk about us, we're not entitled to be in the Premier League like Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea (even good old division three stolwarts Man City are more entitled to be there than us) according to the press. Their attitude of, "we won the league so should accept the fact we'll always have that and nothing else" is maddening. I really like a lot of you have said don't care if we are hated now, we needed to do right by our football club, the timing was awful don't get me wrong - but what have our owners always said, they want us to be an established premier league club, this season would have been the end of that. If the media is so upset by it all why aren't they having a go at the Premier League? Theres now so much money involved with being in the league that now every year you'll see managers fired down the bottom of the table, no club can now afford to go down.

The amount of times I've heard "What did Ranieri do to get sacked?" On numerous radio stations. Erm well we could be bottom by the end of the weekend.

Anyone who listens to the likes of Merson is beyond help anyway.

media in this country is a farce. Football media is even worse for blowing things out of proportion and mass hysteria. That's all this is - you're better off not paying attention

Headlines like these don't help either. Rob Tanner said yesterday he didn't believe this occurred and he's close to the club. Non LCFC fans latch on to this.

True, I did find it refreshing to read Barnay Ronay's piece in the Guardian today.

Brainwashing? Fans aren't idiots. Give them some credit.

And the media, although shite, isn't a brainwashing cult.

You can only be brainwashed if you can't  think for yourself.

Im gutted Claudio has been sacked, I really wanted things to get better with him here, but we have to be realistic, these players could still take us down, but it was clear Claudio wasn't getting any sort of reaction out of them, and we hit new lows every week, right decision, shame on the players for not reaching any sort of form.

Love how all these explayers pundits are talking about lack of loyalty by the owners - how many of them showed any loyalty during their careers - not much most of them chased money.

sadly we had no choice and if it had been any other manager they would not be making all this fuss.

I'll tell you one thing- it's going to be sweet if we stay up.

There is nothing like a siege mentality to spark a bit of life into a team. I'm hoping all this negativity from outside the club works in our favour. Just hope our fans fully get behind the team on Monday.

I'm sorry. You don't need to be an idiot to be brainwashed. You just need to be force fed one-sided arguments. This is the power of the media and that is what is happening re Ranieri's sacking right now. The outpouring of grief is so widespread and sensationalist it's as if he was literally stabbed in the back and is no longer with us.

Can someone remind these media outlets and pundits that they said we were 'nailed on' for relegation when we appointed Ranieri.

Media is just shit.

Paul Merson has been on fire this afternoon.

First of all he said "I don't think it's a good job, it's not a Crystal Palace where they had decent players like Zaha, Cabaye, Benteke"

Ok Paul what about Vardy, Mahrez, Gray

Then he said "they should test the water with Hull and try to get Marco Silva"

Marco Silva the man he tore into when Hull announced him for, not being English, only managing Sporting Lisbon & Olympiakos.

And now it's 'Leicester need Pearson' lollollol he's been on the buggle again hasn't he?

If I feed you one sided arguments about your own football club, I won't get anywhere.

And brainwashing isn't being feed one-sided arguments. Brainwashing is crippling psychological manipulation.

And you accuse the media of sensationalism? It'd be easier to agree with you if you do not do the same.
