Number 6 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Not saying our players did or didn't say anything to owners but Savage's evidence as to why players shouldn't was not saying anything to the owners when Taylor was here. Kind of wish you'd spoken up Sav, willing to these days.
Legend_in_blue Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Well, even our own local radio station is at it this morning. Something is starting at the clock tower tonight before the game. This'll only incite trouble.
Number 6 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Our own fans are going to condemn us to relegation at this rate. Seen the march described as a show or appreciation in places but also as a protest. Whatever it is, it doesn't help us as a club.
BenTheFox Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 To be fair I'm starting to see a few more reports from pundits and journalists saying that they understand the decision. Graham Souness yesterday said that it was understandable.

Without fans, clubs are nothing. And they really need us behind them here

Graham Souness yesterday said that it was understandable. Initially it's all a big euphoria but when people have time to reflect, they can see the logic behind it (some people anyway!). Even Savage to a degree although he's still being a t***, he seemed astounded yesterday by the amount of Leicester fans calling in on 606 to back the decision. Made him unusually quiet!
ozleicester Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Its interesting that the media is seen to be brainwashing now, when its been doing it especially for the past 20 years of Moneyball. I find it laughable that the Sky commentators, who made a fortune as players and now even more as pundits, thanks to the destruction of club football can sit and talk about Leicester having killed a little bit of football. Having said that, our fans who willingly accept and even support the sacking of the only man who has ever (and most likely will ever) brought us the 1st Division title, have been mindlessly led into the moneyball concept.."The premier league is all that matters"........ Yep, the media are brainwashing, but it began 20+ years ago and anyone who supports the sacking of Ranieri is already drinking the cool aid by the bucket.
Monsell1976 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Wish the press would **** off and get over it, I'm as gutted as the next man, but **** me this is getting silly. Its like they want the club to fall apart, and if people believe everything they read, they will get their wish. Time to move on, these ****** abusing the players need to rap it in and grow up, and let's get on with trying to stay up, because all this crap will send us down

The last thing anyone but lcfc fans want is for us to stay up and justify the decision. If I was Shakey that would be my team talk, everybody wants you to fail now get out there and prove them wrong. Leicester City thrive as underdogs, let's see it again.

Foxes1 Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Savage is one of the biggest culprits. Remember when he was at Birmingham and he wanted a transfer he openly admitted that in some of the games he refused to try.
RonnieTodger Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Got to love Savage taking the moral high ground here. the bloke couldn't wait to **** off when we were relegated.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Scrolling through Newsnow Leicester City Headline in the (vomit) Star 'Claudio Ranieri: Sacked Leicester boss spotted abroad, but what was he doing?' Shock Horror.......Taking his Grandson to the Zoo. Leave the guy alone.

There should be some form of newspaper/media regulation, whereby celebrities/politicians/famous sportsmen etc can request the media to put the spotlight on them when they want, so that they can get on with trying to enjoy their lives without having the feeling/without noticing they're being watched all the time. Working in media surely has its advantages but some journalism, it's etc need to learn when it's actually right to observe people to get a balance of writing something to make a headline without the unnecessary need of 'being in the way' of well-known people trying to get on with their lives in private.

Doesn't get much lower than the Star....except me opening the link I guess! Popping up in other papers without the sensational headlines. Good to see him looking well

Sad thing is as you get older and have more yesterdays than tomorrows you move further away from being taken seriously in any capacity in life.f acing that is a worry - football managers, politicians (?) and lollypop ladies aside. Many references on FT posts to his age!!!! Dilly Dong man getting older is a privilege that we all hope we are gifted with, alternative? He wont realize it yet as he's a proud man but he's better off out of it IMO. Money helps isn't everything and to lose purpose hurts as i'm sure a few of us know. Really do hope the guy gets a job in media, far better than the clowns we have.
Wycombe Fox Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 I took some stick at my local on the Isle of Wight on Saturday night. Having endured the usual banter in 2014/15 when we were bottom, the backslapping when we survived, the ridicule when we appointed Ranieri, the bandwaggoners through 2015/16, the backslapping again when we won the title and the mickey-taking this season, it was different on Saturday. How can I support such a vile, disgusting club? How can we sack Ranieri after what he did for us? Apparently we deserve to be relegated purely for sacking Ranieri, not by the usual method of failing to accumulate enough points to finish 17th. I'm sad that he's gone, but I'd be sadder if we get relegated. Tossers.
Pentatonic Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 The players are denying that they urged the owners to fire Ranieri. And now the owners themselves have made a public statement exonerating the players. But the pundits are still at it: Quote http://www.skysports.com/football/leicester-vs-liverpool/live/356589 NEVILLE ON RANIERI SACKING Speaking on Monday Night Football, Gary Neville says he hopes none of the Leicester players had anything to do with Claudio Ranieri's sacking. "If the players were involved, and i say if, then that is the most unsavoury part of his sacking," said Neville. "The route from owner to player around a manager's future is not a chain of command that should be available. "The reality of it is, if that's what has happened, I can't get my head around that." This is as bad as old school Fleet Street journalism gets. Can any of these football pundits cite a single named source for "The players went to the owners to get Ranieri sacked"? How can these people sleep well at night?
HybridFox Posted 27 February 2017 Posted 27 February 2017 Carragher and Neville in total disbelief at HT! Loving it. Even now, they're tryna put us down. Slating Liverpool
Collymore Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Well done @UpTheLeagueFox for telling the truth just before kickoff on talksport yesterday. Durham had gone over to him with a bee in his bonnet wanting blood but Geoff stopped him in his tracks. Ray Wilkins (I think it was) also agreed with Geoff and backed him up which was nice. I know Durham is a shock jock but it was infuriating hearing him drag the club's name through the mud.
TrentFox Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Seems to have gone full circle, judging by the papers this morning. Now the supporters and leading the press!! "The closer you get to Leicester City, the less emotional people feel about his sacking", stars The Times. The story has sailed and last night's performance torpedoed it irreparably.

A bit of sensationalism sells papers and gains listeners/viewers but I just call it as I see it, rightly or wrongly.
