Gray ..... £60k a week

why are people talking about gray like he is a super talent? he is talented ,no doubt but he is not that good, people talking about him having the potential to be as good as mahrez if not better, get in the bin! you are telling me that gray gonna be a poty caliber player, he is living of mahrez (and what i mean by that is mahrez is taking all the heat while gray only has to go against 1 player), n'didi is a super talent, gray isn't

if the talk is real, let him get in the bin too, for a 60k a week we can get a player from the calcio or ligue 1 with a lot better potential, more ready to lead a team and less of a headache on social media

some won't admit it but, if he wasn't an "english talent" people here would have fed up with his social media antics and lack of end-product a long, long time ago

Drinkwater is on >100K/week . . .

drinkwater was a starter on a PL winning side, 100k is a little much but he deserved it

It seems like an April fools joke to me. I doubt very much anyone would give him 60k a week. He may get around 25 to 30 but that's it. Isn't Rashford on 25k with Utd. Kane and Alli on 70 k with Spurs. Gray hasn't even got himself a permanent place with us yet. He's improving but still has a way to go.

Gray is decent but there's no way he's worth 60k a week right now.

Our big earners like Kasper, Vardy and Mahrez (Kante even!) are entitled to their pieces of silver as they came through the hard way. Gray hasn't put in the yards yet to justify that sort of increase.

Well, sterling is on £180k pw

That may well be but we all know Man city pay over the odds because they have money to burn. It doesn't make it right or that all other Clubs can afford the same.

Sterling made a big mistake leaving Liverpool where he was developing nicely under Rogers. He went backwards for two years and is only now re emerging.

It's taken him that time to learn and add other parts to his game. I don't believe Gray is as good as Sterling right now. But he does have the potential to go on and be better.

He's shown glimpses of things (lets be honest, he hasn't even played that many games) that most other players in the league couldn't do. He's played a grand total of 9 times in the league, that's all his minutes put together, not starts.

He looks dangerous far more times then he doesn't. Was one of the standout players when the team was shit with Ranieri.

Stop comparing a player in his prime to a 20 year old that needs to be nurtured.

It seems you use him as a scapegoat to make Mahrez look better?

Using the English argument as well.

I like Gray because whenever he gets on the ball I'm excited, just like when Mahrez does. The way he skips past players is amazing. His end product will most likely come with game time (something we never give young players nowadays).

I think you have a very harsh view of him. Is he not allowed a proper run in the side in your eyes?

Mahrez' end product was a problem in his first 18 months but he was still drooled over by most of us. I don't think being English has much to do with it for most of us tbh. For what it's worth I think 60k is a bit ott but he has earned an improved deal, whatever that may be.

All agents are ****s and unfortunately unless the game gets rid of them, money will continue to take precedent and if the club is not willing to be held to ransom then it's case of finding one that will.

Which will happen.

Agree 100%

they are scum of the earth and put nothing back into the game

anyone any idea on how we can turn back the clock and get rid of them ?

There's only one way and that's for Clubs to agree not to deal with them. it may cause disruption to the league for a while but it's the only way. There a parasite on the Game taking fees off the Clubs and Fees from the players.

Agents or no agents, money is consuming football rapidly.

Too true.

Sterling is on 180 k per week (apparently). Just let that sink in awhile... over half a million pounds every month.

Its obscene.

That's a lot of sterling for Sterling.

At the same age Mahrez had just moved to second division Le Havre and could only get a game in their reserves. How's that bin looking?

you know that there is something called an anomaly, right? not every 23 year old from ligue 2 can go to win the PL and POTY. and even then people could tell that he is special, just because you started young doesnt mean that you will go to do big things

well, gray can be an anomaly too,but from what i saw, i don't think so, young players get carried away easily, especially young english players.

I think you have a very harsh view of him. 5-Is he not allowed a proper run in the side in your eyes?

1-that didn't stop people from having an opinion on musa, didn't they? yes he didn't play good but if gray in his second year in the league has the benefit of the doubt then musa should get it to.

2-and that is my problem with him, against stoke he looked unplayable but still didn't show any end-product

3-oh really now, you gonna go there i see, no problem. so, tell me how me saying that he has more space because mahrez is double marked considered "scapegoating", mahrez has nothing to do with this, this is my opinion on gray, not mahrez.

4-just like zaha's and redmond's, right?

5-he had, is 1000+ minutes not enough for you? listen here, i find him a headache with his social media antics, i'm not looking to gray as a young telent, i'm looking to him as the next player to lead the team after mahrez leaves, and he is not that good(imo), get another player in the summer (if mahrez is gone) to be the main man because as of now, i don't see the potential of the next big thing.

as i said to others here, the quastion that i asked my self is "is he ready to lead the team" and he is not, i have to problem with him learning for another season (under mahrez or another player for that matter) and i'm ready to change my mind about him but, as of now, he is not good enough,

Sadly I think we're all going to have to get used to all this social media shit (no offense to the owner of this forum) from young players, particularly those from the pampered academies in England.

Still think he's potentially an amazing talent though.
