jonny_wright Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 I know this is technically tickets but Atléitco tickets for the home game have just sold out without even making it to the silver membership which many people paid £70 for and were told there would be a guarantee of tickets. I've been a season ticket holder for 15 years but had to Give it up due to work so became a member to go to the games I can make, feel a bit let down tbh!
Finnegan Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Biggest home game in years. Surely this isn't surprising?

What's suprising is the fact that when buying the membership the club guaranteed a certain amount of tickets would be held back for silver ones to potentially buy!
Ted Maul Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 I'm not sure how there could be a guarantee of tickets for this one- what were they going to do, tell a few hundred of the gold members that they couldn't have tickets to cater for silvers? I'd imagine pretty much every ST holder and gold member would have tried to get one.
Illusion35 Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 I believe this guarantee applied to premier league games only. UEFA may still return some, fingers crossed for you!

Yes basically the gold members had an allocation of 2000 and once that's sold out gold membership cost buy them, that's how it's worked so far, it feels like the Everton game last year where tickets seem to have gone missing, seems 500-1000 have gone to the chairmans mates around the world, just a hunch

wokinghamfox Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 and it will get worse should we progress even further. The allocation for the final will probably only see season ticket holders ( and not all of them) get tickets. We will only get about 18k. 50% of allocation goes to all the corporate bolloxs. I applied but missed out due to the high demand just in case.

So not enough for each STH and that's before the club cream a load off for guests etc! But I'm sure it won't come to that.

Sir Shep Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Yeah it's a shame, all those who couldn't be bothered before are now wanting to go but hey ho that's life I guess.

Its a clear statement of just how bad football has got in terms of money being the end all. 18K tickets in a 70K stadium regardless of who plays the final is quite frankly a joke. Incredibly big if but if we do get to the final at last 20% of our season ticket holders will not be able to go.
ALC Fox Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 As for the Atletico game. I kept noticing that tickets were available periodically for Sevilla at home, even after it said 'SOLD OUT'. There's hope but I guess you've got to be lucky or on the constant lookout.

Expect to see a LOT of returns floating around if we get thrashed in Madrid though..

The 500 guaranteed tickets has only ever applied to Premier League games. When you purchased a Silver Membership, you would have known that you would get third priority on tickets for cup competitions after Season Ticket Holders and Gold Fox Members - this was surely a risk you were willing to take in not taking out Gold. I posted something similar in the tickets thread, but not many people who are saying it is unfair have really came up with a viable alternative that the club should have adopted instead, other than the membership scheme is unfair and should be scrapped, although it has worked for them for the majority of the season. Ultimately, the club have set out a clear selling criteria for members and stuck to it, rather than move the goalposts at this stage, which would have really gone down a storm. I can't really see what anyone else expected them to do differently. I am sorry for those who haven't got tickets, and hope you can get hold of some from UEFA returns, but whilst I can empaphise with you, I cannot agree that is is unfair.
Karljohn Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Wife, Son and I have Gold membership and picked up 3 tickets in M1 yesterday but were lucky. The whole membership scheme is very flaky..league games a minimum of 1500 tickets, silver minimum 500...it's all set up so they can adjust it for corporate plebs. They are making an absolute killing and it's the biggest con the club have pulled to date. Season ticket or nothing for me next season.

I think in the season ticket renewal window there were literally less than 100 season tickets that made it to Gold members. All the crap about not extending the ground due to not having big games is ****ing bullshit. We sell out every game and have done for almost 3 years.

To be fair they've been doing that all season for Premier League games, I know this is obviously a bigger game than most but I can see why its caught people cold, the club I'm pretty sure never said the 500 would apply to CL tickets so its not unfair but I see why people are frustrated

Might be a few more this time around but when 2 categories (gold, silver)are guaranteed just 2,000 tickets your right, the only answer is an extension.

Or follow the game on FT and listen to requests for streams.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 As previously mentioned the 500 for Silver thing was only ever advertised specifically for PL games, but it's a shitter for people that missed out, the whole membership structure is garbage but at the end of the day every man and his dog wants to go to this and people were always going to want to go and not be able to.
jonny_wright Posted 5 April 2017 Author Posted 5 April 2017 I'm most annoyed that the club have charged me £70 for a membership that's probably worth £30 at best, more fool me I guess....
