I'm most annoyed that the club have charged me £70 for a membership that's probably worth £30 at best, more fool me I guess....

Well, if we got to the final, Gold members wouldn't get tickets, does that make their membership worth less? Subjective I guess...

It's dissapointing however i have managed to get every PL game this season and therefore personally feel i have got my monies worth out of the membership.

Which ever way you go about it, there would always be people missing out.

If we get to the final most season ticket holders won't get one,

we will most likely get 15000 tickets with the rest going to cooperate and sponsors

Exactly, demand goes up and supply goes down, there will always be people that miss out.

Its an absolute joke! Having stumped up the cash for all three games in the group stage and the last 16 plus god knows what else ive spent this year it leaves a really bad taste. I don't think for a minute its a case of season ticket holders and gold members coming out the wood work as the numbers don't add up. More likely Uefa keeping the corporate sponsors happy by cutting down the allocation inside our own Stadium! F***ING JOKE!

We need to expand the stadium, like someone has said its already been at capacity for 3 years.

Ok we are getting ahead of our selves slightly but i wonder what system the club will come up with if this is the case? Years you've been a season ticket holder? or will they use the away game system?

It's why I have never agreed with charging for memberships because you are buying it's for nothing more than priority. You are not physically buying anything.

The memberships should have had the caveat you will at least get the opportunity to go at least five games as a Gold member, two as a Silver member and one as a Fox member. If you don't take one of those 'opportunities', you'll have some priority knocked off. Failing that ballot them off for each game like Manchester United.

However, this point is irrelevant here as this was always going to be way oversubscribed and the CL games have a reduced capacity thanks to UEFA and television. There will be Gold members what missed out on this fixture.

4 years a sth on over 200+ points,I'm sure they will use the away game system but with only fans on high priority getting a ticket

I'm a gold member so if we get to the final my chances of getting a ticket via the club are zilch so I don't have a dog in this fight.

The fairest way to distribute the 18,000 or less that go on sale to the plebs once corporate and sponsors have had their fill would be the point system. I'd be ready to commit murder if I had 200pts because I went home and away and didn't have some sort of priority. I'd imagine everyone on 160pts+ would be able to get a ticket with that format.

And here was me very naively hoping we'd get Monaco in the final and get about 70,000 tickets.

The final is really an away game so I'm quite sure they would use that system.

As for those moaning that the Silver member ship now isn't worth it, have you not used it yet this season then or just waiting for what you perceive to be the important games?

I don't think it's right that those who have purchased the group and last 16 tickets can't get one, regardless of being a member or ST holder, there should be some kind of priority, however this was never advertised so you can hardly cry outrage over it.

We all know the system is flawed, but nothing will change. When you buy a membership you are essentially entering a lottery for the big matches, but you know that when you sign up for it. I know gold members who missed out on Everton last season, but then also know of people buying a membership in April jumping on the bandwagon and getting a ticket to Everton, that's not fair but the club don't care as long as the tickets are sold and people still buy memberships to bring in as much revenue for them.

I thought we had 18000 STH's? If that's true then every STH should get a ticket if we did somehow manage to get to Cardiff.

Don't know the exact number, but I think we have around 23000 season ticket holders.

You bought it yourself, no one forced you to do so. T & C are pretty clear.

There are several levels and always a chance you'd miss out on tickets on special occasions.

I can understand that we all would want to be part of something historic as our current Champions League stint and I see you're disappointed - but always remember, there's a lot more people worse off than you...

The only way this problem can be solved is by expanding the stadium. Or changing/scrapping the membership scheme altogether.

This argument can be flipped. Up until this game it had not been worth forking out for a Gold membership as Silver has got you access to every home game thus far. This is the ONLY home fixture to date where being a Gold member has come into its own and that is the privilege Gold members paid for (and Silvers did not). Have a lot of empathy for those fans that missed out though.

The gold members who got one, did you get your usual seat? The ones available were clearly season ticket holders who never got them, the rows that I usually get mine on were not available, clearly held back or sold/given away.

I'm confused, how was it so easy to get tickets for the group stages?

I think quite a few probably didn't fancy forking out for the three game package and were prepared to play the waiting game. That and some STHs were caught out.

Combination of factors but to name a few:

-Fewer STH's and Gold Members taking up seats

-Fewer seats being taken by UEFA (this is a big one, in the group stages UEFA didn't take much at all, where as at the minute they have around 3,000 I believe)

-Fewer seats being taken by the club for guests/hospitality

I got an Everton ticket pretty easily last year. For this game I was held in a queue for about 30 mins and could only get two (not together) in A2. I normally get seats in J2.  It seemed like more people were online. Luckily when M1 became free I got my seats switched as I was fairly on the ball and I am sure many Gold members had logged off and were unawares.

I got the same seats together as I did for Sevilla, however the seats that were 'green' were disappearing rapidly-far faster than I've seen ever before, so I think the demand was just incredibly high. It was really strange, as within the couple of minutes it took me to log on and select my seats, greens were turning grey everywhere leaving single seats by the time I checked out.
