Thracian Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 www.theguardian.com/football/2017/apr/10/football-claudio-ranieri-speaks-out-leicester-sack-players-premier-league After all the controversy about Ranieri's sacking maybe the man's own comments point more clearly towards the real source of undercurrent against his leadership. Don't get me wrong, Ranieri's departure was on the cards from September onwards and I believed the decision should have been made earlier. But that wouldn't excuse anyone going behind his back to undermine his authority. For me Ranieri could only be talking about a handful of people who might have had the clout to be listened to - and some of those I'd be inclined to rule out. Indeed, after Ranieri's interview some of them might decide to publicly distance themselves from any innuendo by offering reassurance that they certainly weren't involved...as some players have already made clear. We can all make our guesses, assuming Ranieri himself is right, but that doesn't mean we'd necessarily be correct. But Ranieri's comments will surely leave a nasty taste around the place and one we need to be rid of, if still in situ. Everyone has opinions in football and, sometimes, if they're important, it might be appropriate to raise them with the boss for all that it would take some bravery and there might be risks involved. But far better that, surely, than going sneakily behind someone's back and acting like a traitor in the camp, at least in respect of the manager.
StanSP Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 you pick the one line out of last night's coverage just like BBC and Sky did 1 minute ago, Thracian said: But Ranieri's comments will surely leave a nasty taste around the place and one we need to be rid of. i thought he was quite graceful (?) and didn't actually throw anyone under the bus. He was even respectable and man enough to speak with the person(s) face to face and not wreck them out in the open, in front of the world. Can't ask for more than that. We were lucky to have him last season and fortunate that he's not gone and diminished the club as the media want, and perhaps some fans want...
Wymsey Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 Ranieri needs to get that chip off his shoulder, it'll ruin his reputation if he harps on about it. Did excellently last season, but when things were poor this season under him - he had plentiful opportunities to turn it around, but always stuck to the same old then-failed method that made him a victim of his own success. Sorry, but it's getting rather boring now, Claudio.

Samilktray Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 It's amazing that there is a 9 page thread about this right near the top of the page. And yet this thread gets made

I don't read all the threads on this forum - who does - and simply didn't associate the headline of the thread you mention as being associated with the same topic. Can't imagine i'm the only one whose "ego" has set me on such a course. What an abominable individual you are. How would "ego" have anything to do with a football fans website? I'd say "get real" but wouldn't really consider it appropriate to yourself. Anyway it'll please you to know I'm out of here and hopefully for good. You can talk to your own gang or those you approve of. In the end it'll be a bit like talking to yourself but I guess that's what gang culture is all about. Spit insults at, and alienate, anyone who doesn't sing to your own tune and you'll be sure to keep calling your own. You're beneath contempt but we'll be well rid of each other.

Tbf Thrac a subject like this is likely to get a mention from others. A little looking before you post wouldn't go amiss.

Tony shouldn't have to spend time looking for stuff in his own country, Webbo - He should be allowed to post whatever and wherever he likes on behalf of his own people. And he once had a jet black girlfriend. Jet black I tell you.

There's a huge thread that very clearly states it about his appearance on MNF. Also this place is very active, doesn't take a genius to work out that people would have already been talking about his TV appearance well before mid morning today. You know nothing about me, to call me abominable individual shows the real you. I always treat those who deserve it with respect, which is why you have none from me. The ego part is clearly that you feel you have to start the conversation, have you own creation be the area this issue is talked about. You do it in GC too, creating threads about Labour that could go in the politics thread that you've recently posted in. But no, everyone has to see how important your views are. Can't say you'll be missed if you do go. I'm more that happy to discuss things with people who views conflict mine. Webbo, Strokes, MattP etc are perfectly fine to discuss things with. I don't think I'm the only one who finds you horrible to interact with.

To be honest, it would be a shame if Thracian stops posting. I disagree with some of his stuff and I do believe he is biased towards King and always has been. but he is usually pretty spot on with his post match views and many of his thoughts in general. I think whoever posts online though and especially on a football forum, needs to be able to take things in good humour and put it down to mainly banter. Personal attacks are a bit much though and whereas I think you pushed the boundary with the "ego" comment, I took it as banter still and I have been guilty of starting a fresh thread before because I wanted to stand out from the "plebs" in another...so it made me chuckle! Calling someone an 'abominable individual and beneath contempt' is too much though and I hope that isn't Thracian's final post on here, as it is not a fitting one for usually a decent poster.
