They would reintroduce the lower rate of corporation tax for small businesses. Page relating to small business in the labour manifesto: Yeah the thing is, that says Labour will reinstate a corporation tax for smaller businesses that is lower than that for larger businesses. Now I can't say for certain, but that's, in all likelihood, not going to be as low the 17% that the Conservatives are promising for all.

I guess you may have a point there but i can't believe the tories seriously want to keep reducing it. It's madness. The excuse that income went up when rates reduced doesn't hold up as there are a myriad reasons why income increased as I've described before.

There is a case to be made for cutting taxes to increase tax revenue, this is an interesting read: https://www.adamsmith.org/blog/tax-spending/cut-taxes-get-money/
purpleronnie Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Someone came round today from Labour asking if I'd voted, I told her I had and had voted Labour, she replied 'Finally I've found someone who voted Labour', so I don't think NW Leicestershire will be turning Red tonight.

Webbo Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Just been to vote. Steady turn out, not as busy as the referendum. Charnwood's a pretty safe seat though.

stripeyfox Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Looking forward to this. Find Election Night coverage strangely compulsive viewing! Hopefully last until around 0100 before falling asleep.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Exit polls predicting an increase in the Tory majority, or so I've been told...

Benguin Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Once again excited at the prospect of being called a racist, selfish dick tomorrow when the Tories win and the inevitable melt down of young leftie luvies ensues

I think she's safe with anything over 50 odd purely on the basis that Brexit negotiations start soon and attention will go to that.

I suppose, as you say, a narrow Tory majority is effectively a defeat for Theresa. May 1/7 Corbyn 9/2 Rudd 66/1 Johnson 66/1 Davis 100/1 Hammond 100/1 Leadsom 250/1 Gove 250/1 Farron 500/1

I can see the first few months of negotiations going particularly badly and then she gets shunted.

ramboacdc Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Ashcroft prediction out. That's not really a prediction. That's just saying "If everyone votes the same as before" And 4 predictions is hardly a "prediction"Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
ousefox Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Liz Truss also managed to disappear of the face of the earth for the last couple of months.

Izzy Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Just voted but a waste of time really. Bercow is my MP and seeking re election as the speaker of the house. The only other options were an Independent, UKIP or Green. I couldn't vote for Labour even if I wanted to as they didn't put up a candidate. Doesn't seem right somehow.
