Probably aren't going to get anywhere near a leader and party that has had a disastrous campaign and offered up a manifesto that has been greeted with massive negativity across the board. How will the left and Momentum at night knowing that a it was there for the taking and a moderately competent leader and shadow front bench would have put Labour in a position to stop May. I suppose they'll all be out protesting Saturday, occupying Trafalgar Square and taking to Twitter to dismiss any Conservative voter as stupid and intellectually beneath them. cos the country is full of **** tards like this
Guest MattP Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Up at this ridiculous hour working for a spread betting firm. (For a pittance) Conservative 400 possible....evidence was there if you read if from @Alf Bentley

Opposition indeed. It isn't early in Sydney.
stripeyfox Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Looking forward to election night. I'm off to vote this morning (Polling Station is conveniently located at my kid's school so can do it when I take them in - which has the advantage of showing them the process). I'm going to vote Conservative. I'm not someone who votes the same way all the time, I try and make a judgement on the information I get (although I don't scrutinise everything!). My gut tells me that Labour's plan to spend spend spend and give away free this and that is doomed. Putting tax up for the "rich" usually does not actually generate more tax revenue. Who knows what could happen today but as a normal, middle of the road guy, I suspect Labour need lots of people like me to swing to them. Maybe under Burnham I would have been tempted, but not for Jezza. Whilst he is a decent and principled politician, I do not believe he is a good leader of his own party (as evidenced by many of his fellow MP's), let alone a leader of the country. Also, thanks to the guys on here (Matt P an Alf to name but two - but there are lots of others) for their insight. Don't agree with everything that everyone has written but it has been a good debate I think. Good luck guys - make sure you use your vote!
The Doctor Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Voted. Won't make a difference - I live in a very safe Tory seat - 32% majority in 2015, UKIP in second place; 41% over labour.
Finnaldo Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 It will be a crushing Tory majority win. There'll be nothing we can do about it as we all perish in the workhouses. Still voting Labour though.

Voll Blau Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 I had a dream last night where there Tories got 398 seats and Labour got 198. Woke up in a sweat, then had another dream where Tony Blair won an election with his invention called 'The New Party'. Need to lay off the Stilton afore bed.

I've backed em to get over 400!

Maybe you're a visionary? In a couple of years' time pilgrims will be walking barefoot to the Ruhrstadion to pray for your divine assistance - and people will be smoking Stilton, hoping for hallucinatory enlightenment.

If she can't make it, I just saw this on twitter about registering to vote by proxy. Might be of some use if she's keen to vote?

Do enjoy it when people talk about something they half caught as if it were fact. Co-worker is saying news this morning was talking about a 60% conservative majority. That'd mean about 80% of the vote country won't be that blue even once it's underwater.
Mike Oxlong Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 Think I might go Green for the following reasons 1. Never voted for them before 2. As a protest at the shower of shit served up by the traditional parties 3. I'd quite like a 4 day week 4. It doesn't make any difference where I live anyway 5. It was one of the best albums of the 80s
EastAnglianFox Posted 8 June 2017 Posted 8 June 2017 It's really starting to grate on me the amount of people who are so impressed with themselves by sharing a video on twitter of them buying a full newsagent stock full of The Sun and The Daily Mail etc, then burning them or throwing them away. How fvcking arrogant of these idiots to assume that because they think they know best then nobody should be allowed to read the stuff and make their own adult decision. Although what is kinda funny, is that they don't see by doing such things is one of the reasons they never get the result they are desperate for and are so narrow minded they really cant see it.

They're like Nazis burning books, not that they'll see it that way. I'm sure the owners of those titles will be happy with the increased sale though.
