Shit half an hour ago any coalition containing a Northern Irish party was at 100/1 and now it's suspended on Skybet, A Tory/DUP coalition isn't unfeasible

How do they get these exit polls I thought voting was strictly private

Don't they basically loiter outside major polling stations and just ask people?

Pollsters ask people as they exit the polling station

They interview people after they leave polling stations, hence the 'exit' name.

I saw that this afternoon and thought about it .... but everyone was saying a 50 - 60 seat majority!

they stand outside the polling stations all day and ask people to fill out another ballot as they leave. basically its a poll of how you voted not "how you will vote"

The exit poll is only based on 30k people, wouldn't get too ahead of steam

In only 40 seats. To say I'm skeptical of this is an understatement.

I don't believe the SNP for a start, no way are they losing 22 seats.

I wasn't convinced of such a large majority but had doubts it'd be this close apparently
