Ric Flair Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 If I stay until the end it takes 20-30 mins to get out the ground. Fcuk that. I watch the remaining minutes in the aisle and if I can't do that then I'll bog off. I find people happy to stay in their seat until the end and be subjected to half an hours wait very peculiar.

It only takes 2 mins to get out even after the whistle has blown. While I agree with your point, it takes a lot longer than 2 minutes to get out if you're near the top.

Agreed I can actually walk back to the car and nearly be back in Hinckley than if I wait until the final whistle at the top of SK1.

Good job there are a few thousand of us who are happy to be 'peculiar' then, because if we all followed your lead, not only would you not get away early as you wanted but there would be no one in the ground at the final whistle and no one to applaud the players. I don't know where you sit but it takes me around 5-10 minutes to get out at the end, certainly not 20-30.

BenTheFox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 I've never understood leaving early, I just don't get it. That was the game that mathematically secured our place in the premier league for next season. Stay around, sing and enjoy yourself!

You having a laugh. If i walk down the steps to leave on the final whistle i save at least 15 mins. If i stay like i normally do i'm lucky if i get out the ground before 5pm.
UniFox21 Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 Still don't understand the people leaving 10/15 minutes before the final whistle Same with people leaving 10 early to queue for food You've paid to watch the game yet people spend lotta time down queuing for food or leaving early

If that's more important to you, why go to the game in the first place? They were filling the aisles where I sit yesterday a good three or four minutes before the end. Insane. Missing one of our best counterattacking goals of the season serves them bloody right. PS if you were one of those early leavers, could you please explain yourself as I just don't get it. What I dont get is why you think you deserve an explanation of other fans actions. It's their business what they do or have planned. And no I've never left a game early.
SystonFox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 It did slightly irk me watching on live stream yesterday and I can see 3 or 4 empty seats in the home section together and I couldn't get a ticket (as a member) as it was classed as sold out?! and Watford leaving 1,000 empty? Why not send the tickets back and open it up to city fans?

All I did was politely ask a question - there was even a 'please' thrown in there - the reason being that I genuinely don't understand why people leave a game early. It has always baffled me that so many pay to see a game of football then voluntarily choose not to get their money's worth because they apparently have something more important on.
Spudulike Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 The amount of incidents and goals that I've seen in the final minutes down the seasons means that I just couldn't leave before the whistle. Clapping the players off at the end is all part of the occasion for me. It really would kill me if I heard the roar of a goal from the stadium when I was half way up Raw Dykes Road.
lifted*fox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 Someone who pays £30 for a ticket and then leaves 5 minutes early is wasting £1.67. Really makes you think how someone could be that wasteful.
TheSomersetFox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 I think leaving early is a sign of disrespect first and foremost, but despite that you're still paying 30 odd quid for a ticket to leave early? For the sake of 10 minutes where you could be clapping the players off the pitch? Weird

Was just making a point about people who keep saying 'people paid all that money to then leave early'. I was just being facetious tbh.
lifted*fox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 genuinely though - whilst I don't leave early, winning or losing - I can kind of understand why SOME people might want/need to. I'm an advocate of sticking it out to the end and clapping the players off - especially as we seem to have a good atmosphere after games where they walk the pitch and everyone claps / sings each players songs. I don't really have anywhere to be after a game - an extra 10 minutes walking up the road / back home / to the car, etc makes little/no difference to me. BUT I guess if you've driven all the way from somewhere else and you've got a long journey then saving 10/15 minutes on the walk might be of use. You might have kids with you, you might have an early start. Whatever. It's not my choice but as long as you're not standing in the ****ing aisle blocking my view of the pitch I couldn't really give a **** tbh.
UniFox21 Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 May seem like just a few minutes that people are missing and tedious questioning it, but i see the same people every time leaving 10 minutes early, or running for food 5/10 minutes or so for one game doesn't seem a lot, but when you look over a whole season at home you're averaging missing around a game or so of football just to beat the rush home or avoid a few extra minutes queuing for food And the people who leave early and just stand in the stairs blocking the way for everyone else or such really bugs me
lifted*fox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 But maybe not everyone feels the same about the football as me and you. They probably like going to the game, but maybe don't give enough of a shit if they want to spend 5 minutes queuing before half-time for a hot dog or a shit pie or a watery beer. Maybe they prioritise shit food and beer over that 5 minutes of football. Maybe it's their favourite part of the experience and therefore they're happy to forego some action on the pitch to fill their face with some substandard rubbish. I guess that sorta shit makes some people tick. Let 'em have it I guess.
Old Fox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 250 mile round trip and takes 3 hours from the ground to the door at home but you know what I would not miss a minute of this team. Some of you don't realise how lucky you are watching this team - our best ever! Watching Mahrez, Vards, Ndidi, Drinky (even though he needs an op), Schmeichel et al is a pure pleasure. Stood with my lad at the final whistle to clap every player off the pitch - having watched some pure trips over the years I really don't understand some fans but each to their own!!
