Maybe mahrez should be keeping it to himself about wanting cl football next year, if he did actually say that, because it's no more than touting himself to the highest bidder whose playing in the competition next year

I still don't see him going. He comes across as a nice but very introverted guy, full of doubts and his body language could be misleading. But he's, as Ranieri and Shakey said very self critical and willing to improve. I'm fairly certain that his frustration is directed first towards himself.

If we sign a good CAM, CB and keep Kasper (I suppose his departure could have a domino effect), we can genuinely compete for an european spot. That's food for thoughts for the young man. He's a star here and I'm not sure the big ones will patient him. On the other side a great coach can unveil his full potential, if he still didn't reach it that is.

If any player, stops enjoying walking the Clocktower, or

doesnt enjoy letting his kids feed the deer at Braggie park..or

Breaks out in cold sweats when just thinking about port pies, or

Leicesters finest Balti pies.

Then they are not destined to go in the archives of being a true Leicester Legend..Simples.

Honour contracts...now theres something , even weirder than my posts...

Mahrez spoke today to sky sports

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/10874529/leicesters-riyad-mahrez-to-consider-future-in-summer

He  said  I want to play champions league and win trophies every year

I think only real Madrid/Barca, Bayern, Juventus, PSG an maybe Chelsea in Europe guarantees winning trophies every year (that are commercially lucrative). An will those clubs be interested in Riyad? PSG possibly Chelsea are the only 2 I can see a lot of the big clubs in England don't win trophies every year.

The only time as a Leicester fan that I've felt really sad/gutted/emotional/upset to sell a player, is when Lineker went to Everton.

If we lose Mahrez this summer I reckon I might feel the same...

Will be well and truly gutted if Riyad goes to another PL club.

I could stomach PSG. Hell, if I was in his boots that kind of offer would turn my head as well. Paris, for all it's faults, has got to be a great city to be young and wealthy in.

If that's his ambition then he'll need to put in a lot more effort and commitment at any of the bigger Clubs. They won't stand for his moody-ness or being late for training.   Whereas here can get away with a certain amount of sub-standard performances simply because we know what he's capable of.

Plus he doesn't have the added pressure of a big Fee. The Grass is not always greener elsewhere.

PSG that's surely a joke, They never win anything.

That's exactly what I've just said.

Oh yes, so you did haha! I think if you suddenly have 3 players on you, perhaps it would be a good idea to pass it quickly to one of several of your own players that are unmarked. If you do this a few times in succession perhaps your team might benefit from it. Or you could perhaps try and run at the lot of them and lose the ball?

Its funny that a lot of riyad's "critics" don't want to see him go to another PL team, they know in the right team with the right players he would be at least a top 10 in the league.

He was playing with a fullback that doesn't overlap, was pretty much marked out the whole second half of the season (and still came clutch with goals in palace and Watford) and still managed to grab 17 goals and 11 assists.

Just last game, look in the start of the second half, he caught fire. But if you look closely, you can see that he wasn't dropping deep which allowed him to go on those short bursts. It's no coincidence that mahrez was unstoppable when he played along side de leat (even tho we were leaking goals like crazy)

It's funny that a poty would be going for less than an average overrated English player.

Look at spurs, all that quality and work rate but still came short more than once. People would say mahrez doesn't fit spurs, but you know they will be coming for him in the summer, a poty in his prime for less than £45 million is a great deal.

Work rate will win you a lot of games, but players like mahrez will win you trophies.

Do you mean the box to box mid, the overlapping full back or the second striker with the amazing technical ability.

I'm not so concerned about Mahrez as Kasper, it's not only the player but the leadership skills that would be such a loss.

Um Morgan? Everyone is hyping up Kasper. He's a great keeper for Leicester but he's not yet on the level of De Gea. Let's be honest.

Honestly Zieler isn't that bad. If we motivate him to stay and get a good fee for Kasper, and improve our midfield so that we don't have to rely on a keeper making impossible stops.

Morgan was pathetic during January/February. Schmeichel was the only one who looked like he cared. & Schmeichel saved us points though with match winning saves, without him we'd be fighting relegation at the moment.

I don't want to lose any players but if they want to go then let them if we get the right price. If kasper wants to go, we demand  £30m for him and then buy pickford  for £20m. If Mahrez wants to go we sell him for £40m and make a cheeky bid for Redmond for  £20-25m. If Vardy wants to go then he would arguably be the most difficult to replace as a regular scorer in the prem isn't easy  to come by.

My point being that nobody is irreplaceable and although I would rather start next season with all our main players, we shouldn't worry too much if we lose 1 or 2. The most important thing will be the players we bring in rather than the ones we lose. While Kante was a huge loss, it was felt even more by us as our transfers last summer were pretty poor. Gibson and Sigurdsson  to start with will do nicely!

You can't afford to have an overlapping winger with Marhez, can't you remember what happened before Ranieri installed what is essentially old fashioned right and left backs, there's a reason. Shakespeare does the same for the same reason.

Marhez is a wonderfully gifted player in so many ways but flawed in as much as this year he's been bone idol and unfit at times.

As for you sniping at the ability of our other players, you might like to remember that it was those players that won the title, not just Marhez. My point was that should 3 opposition players be on Marhez, then logically that means we've had free players at times, players that have been available but Marhez has chosen to ignore at times by running into blind alleys with his head down. In the last few games in fairness he's mixed it up a bit more.

When it's said he'd be better with better players, we won the title last year.  If you remember watching Barcelona in their pomp, in or out of possession, they ran their balls off to either be in a position to play or receive a pass or to regain the ball back off the opposition. Klopps Dortmund and Liverpool base their game on hard graft. Messi and Ronaldo work their balls off. Marhez grafted last year.  The days of the mythical flair player that hangs around not contributing for the majority of the game are gone I think.

Mark my words, if and when Marhez leaves for a so called bigger team his work rate will spookily increase and he will consequently achieved more in his game again. The fact that he states that he wants to play Champions league football every year to me sounded like a come and get me. We did well in it this year but I'd hardly say Marhez was the reason for that more than any other of our players.
