Peter Shilton leaving for Stoke was traumatic for me!. Lightening struck twice there after the same happened with Gordon Banks!!

My point being that nobody is irreplaceable and although I would rather start next season with all our main players, we shouldn't worry too much if we lose 1 or 2. The most important thing will be the players we bring in rather than the ones we lose. While Kante was a huge loss, it was felt even more by us as our transfers last summer were pretty poor. Gibson and Sigurdsson  to start with will do nicely! 

This is right except for the figures. Add at least another £5 million for both Mahrez and Kasper. If they want to go, then with no buyout clauses, play hard ball with their suitors. Pickford would be good. Sigurdsson too but unlikely to come here. 

 

Vardy I hope stays. Suits us in many ways.

I think the only competition we'd have for Sigurdsson is Everton. Can't see any of the top 6 wanting him. But with them getting a new ground and being in Europe next year, they may be a more attractive proposition. They are also being linked with pickford.  One thing is for sure, we will want things sorting as early as poss. Wouldn't want us selling players at the back end of August and not being able to find replacements

Honestly Zieler isn't that bad. If we motivate him to stay and get a good fee for Kasper, and improve our midfield so that we don't have to rely on a keeper making impossible stops.

Morgan has reached his level, no top 6 team would want him, so he's best where he is, even Vardy is borderline whether teams would pay what we'd want for him, so this mass exodus won't happen, the point I'm making is IMO Kasper kept getting in front of the cameras when we were shit, Morgan not so much, Kasper is hitting his prime Morgan's prime has already come an gone. I'd offer Kasper the captain armband if it meant there was a chance of him staying.

I think Everton could be a real pain in the a**e for us this summer as they will be targeting similar players to us IMO. And you're right, they could look a more attractive proposition than us with European football and a new ground.

1-de leat is notoriously known here as not a "great defender", and as for schlupp, well, schlupp is schlupp, that's all I can say.

Taking those two as an example is just not right, there are fullbacks that can do both (and just to clear things, I like simmo and I'm not calling for him to be replaced)

 

2- if you define "calling it how it is" as snipping then that's your problem, not mine, I never discredited anyone of them so you don't need to remind me.

 

3- well to his defence, he would be more willing to put the extra shift in if he thinks his teammates can keep up with him. But him running after hoofballs for 50 yards are not exactly the most motivating thing.

What's to like about Everton though? If I was a pro footballer I'd obviously choose Leicester. No brainer really.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I can see Man U pouncing for Vardy. They've lacked someone to score goals in a lot of their games, and they could pay Jamie 200k a week without thinking.

Southampton have gone through far worse, good recruitment will keep us moving forward. Mahrez was expected to leave, so no surprises, kasper I hope will stay but we will see... Vardy I'm sure will stay and can't see anyone else leaving who could go anywhere else in a better position than us anyway.

There are always different schools of thought regarding players leaving clubs. Personally and not with any benefit of hindsight, I thought Kante should have been applauded for being instrumental in the title triumph, being completely up front regarding his intentions once the league had been won and moving on with no controversy or harsh words. Some people differ with this view.

I also feel the same with Mahrez. He could have left last summer while his stock was at it's highest, he didn't. People will argue that he didn't leave because of the wage rise but I disagree. I think he stayed on to give us one more season as much as anything else because I genuinely believe he is a respectable bloke. He didn't make Leicester City and we didn't make him. It was just an incredibly sweet union while it lasted.

I also think it's unfair to sling too much mud at him for this season. Who has been better this season than last? Kasper, that's even arguable but certainly no one else.

Riyad may have looked disinterested at times but he is that type of player and it's easy to forget the utter frustration the players must have had for the first half of the season as performances and results nosedived so dramatically.

 

I, for one, wish him all the best and thank him for some wonderful performances and memories that will never fade.
