so a deal was agreed, it's nice to become some part of the leicester family. I'm hearing we will play you in our final friendly before the season starts (gala match). I'm curious to see how everything develops but I'm reading lots of great comments about Vichai and Top S. It would be nice if some of you could make the trip to belgium for the friendly.

What will happen with loaned players during midseason that have made a lot of progression? Will they move back instantly to Leicester, leaving OHL with a problem to continue on the same level? A lot of questions.

But we don't know very well the new owners....

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see as a mid table club in the top division within five years. Our owners will certainly have your interests at heart if Leicester are anything to judge by.

 

I'd imagine you may get a few African and South American players joining as they can't come to England as they don't get the work permit unless they're regular internationals.

I can promise you they are excellent businessmen and very rich so your future will definitely be financially secure.

 

 

I also think that, when dealing with people on a day to day basis they operate with  fairness, kindness and integrity and they seem to pull on their Buddhist religion  when it comes to how they should treat people. They are kind to the fans and you will grow to like them very very quickly.

 

If how they have treated Leicester City is anything to go by, you will be very impressed with how your club progresses... they never give up on a project either so don't worry if you don't get promoted next season - they wont quit on you...

We already were a mid table club in the top division not too long ago. Until the current board started f*ing up. Most of the fans are hoping the new owners will kick them out ASAP. In fact, if Top wants to capture the hearts of the fans, that should be first on his list.

Thanks. Some promising comments, fingers crossed.

We really hope to become a stable 1st division team in the first place, almost everything is in place for that, a region with a lot of (economic) potential, good atmosphere from the crowd, lots of young supporters going to the game, ... OH Leuven was considered as a an added value to the first division and a possible challenger for the bigger teams in the long term.

Hopefully we can come back quickly to the top league, because second division is a graveyard, you have to meet professional standards, but there are practically no revenue streams, income from television contracts is ridiculous, some teams bring less than 100 away supps, few sponsors, ... not comparable to the championship in England at all. Although it is changing, 6 out of 8 second division teams ( yes only 8, we play 4 times every team...) are acquired by foreign companies (Chinese, South Korean, Russian, Egyptian, and now Thai) and are trying to climb up.

I have no problem whatsoever with bringing in African or south american players, as long as they can give your team an added value. I think that will certainly be the case as your scouting system has already proved itself.

that may change with Brexit as being a Belgian citizen might not be as useful as it has been in the past

I don't think it's a case of African/South Americans becoming Belgium citizens. These players can't get a work permit for the UK until they achieve a certain amount of caps. It's a case of buying these player cheaply before they become internationals.

I don't think it's about being a belgian citizen, I think it's more about the work permit for african players that have not yet played a certain number of matches for their national team. Correct me if I'm wrong. They can't become a belgian citizen in the first few years anyway.

Sure. In the EPL i've noticed a lot of chants on the tune of "In the jungle (the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight)..."

 

You could try something like:

 

"Polle buiten, zet Polle buiten, zet Polle aan de deur. AAaaahwiiiieeeeeeh... zet de Polle aan de deur."

It's the way the work permits have tended to work - they sign and go to Belgium on loan because you've got lighter requirements for citizenship. Take up belgian citizenship and get a work permit through EU freedom of movement.

Whilst I have been very supportive of the Thai owners since their arrival here I do have to question their business acumen in acquiring a second rate Belgian side who just avoided relegation to the third tier of Belgian football. Possible "feeder club", we've already got enough dud players!!

Difficult to question the business acumen of the King Power Group. There are reasons for this move.. We may have to wait to realize what they are.
