Yeah, the angel on my left shoulder doesn't want Claudio into a situation with mediocre players and worse management. The devil on my right shoulder agrees with you. In between, my head doesn't give a hoot about vindication in the eyes of the pundits and the ignorant. I would rather enjoy the sight of Claudio watching Bocelli sing at a trophy presentation at the Stade de Nice.

Claudio is and should always be respected and worshiped , beyond reproach ... the team shafted him .... shit happens , but this club will probably never win another premier league .... for 2015/16 Claudio is and always will be a God

The title went to his head, started thinking he was untouchable and ripped up the methods and close team spirit that had bought us the title. He shafted himself and it's lucky he went when he did for he was very quickly eroding away at his legacy here. I'll always thank him for the title but I don't rate him as a manager and wouldn't ever want him back.

Do not discredit players who have given their all for this club over a number of seasons, for a fraud who won his only major title off the back of other people's work. The players have given far more to this club than CR. no employee wants to get rid of a good manager.
The Fox Covert Posted 23 May 2017 Posted 23 May 2017 Palace are looking for a manager now. Can't see him wanting to go there either. Or Blunderland.

Despite changing their manager so frequently and chopping and changing a lot of players every year and a lot of loan players which could all really unsettle a club, Watford have shown themselves to be rather resilient. They have finished 13th and 17th in the league and never really been under threat of relegation, as far as I'm aware never having been in the relegation zone or at least only for a very short period. The 17th this season was down to a long losing streak at the end when players had clearly lost faith with the manager who refused to even learn English. Heck they even sacked the manager who got them promoted to the top flight potentially nullifying all their winning momentum, then finished comfortably mid table. How would appointing a Premier League winning manager with a wealth of experience around the world automatically be a disaster for a club that have shown so much adaptability to change as Watford.

Because based on Claudio's performance this season, he's not capable of keeping a club with mid-table standard players out of relegation danger and Watford's players are worse than ours. So far Watford, a season battling relegation and for Claudio, the loss of the illusion that he's a great manager, a disaster for both parties.

Yes he inherited a team on the up but his tactical decisions and how he dealt with the Media were major factors in us winning the title. Ranieri didn't just walk in, sit at his desk and do absolutely nothing and just happened to stumble across the Premier League Title. How anybody can completely discredit Ranieri's input baffles me.

But he took a bunch of mid table players to the league title the year before? Seems a bit harsh to just use this season as the sole basis for the judgement of Claudio's future performance. He might surprise you again, he might surprise all the pundits again.
filbertway Posted 24 May 2017 Posted 24 May 2017 On the plus side, the players are already used to having an Italian manager who makes no sense when addressing them
Corky Posted 24 May 2017 Posted 24 May 2017 ****ing hell, we've got people calling a title winner a fraud. Our own title winner a fraud. Utterly incredible.

Maybe there was too much pressure on his shoulders / maybe his desire had gone after winning the league. We'll see when he gets his next job!
fuchsntf Posted 26 May 2017 Posted 26 May 2017 Claudio, Claudio Claudio........ We must not forget, we never had 'The Darkest Hours' with him We defintiley had the best Hours and moments with him, both on and off the field. With all "buts" one could put out he still. He tweeked and made slight changes, that were successfull He found , the right moment to encourage giving individuals the confidence boost, and the right moments and timing to bolster the team through the season. Importantly he was there and in charge of that title team. He is without doubt the most successfull manager, we ever had. Still not necessaryily the best..!!! His character The Mr Claudio Ranieri, got into and stuck to the hearts of the whole of Leicester, and with pride we fans seen, how the world took to Leicester through his seen success.Quite rightly all of us young and old, got to love the man... Lets not forget he did his job!! No matter now how we see, disect, analyse this last season, no matter how some over the years, will try and crucify him, to prove there own articulate knowledge and nous on the contradictive , contraversal, confusing world of football.Even of myself who will discuss and debate the shit out of this seasons turmoill, in which he himself was the major quantity. He gave us that dream, the tears of pride that can nver be washed aside, because of him we all will experience that moment, over the coming years, where we let out an uncontrolled snicker of laughter and sigh, suprising fellow passengers or street passers-by, when we just are having a flashback and quaint thought, that brings a certain picture from last season, flushing back, even in 20,30,50 yrs time. Claudio has notched himself a special nitche in my heart that will never be erased, or lost..!!! Nonever I thank the owners, for taking that wise and hard descision, that kept us in the PL. And NO I cant see him returning to the PL at all. If he does goodluck to the man..
