Melbourne Fuchs Posted 30 May 2017 Posted 30 May 2017 He was so exciting, there was a point last season where everyone time he got the ball I'd yell MAHREZ in anticipation of him doing something great. His first touch is one of the best I've seen as are the little passes through the legs of defenders. I remember one time he flicked on one of Schmeichel's kicks in mid air with the back of his heel to Okazaki, it was amazing. His mid-air side-foot volley assist for Kingy was also one of the best I've seen.
foxtillidrop Posted 30 May 2017 Posted 30 May 2017 As a Leicester fan since 1995, I haven't seen a player like him - a sheer delight to watch. I read today's statement with great sadness. I remember his home debut v Boro - there was a massive storm at kick off - little did we know the football gods were raising the curtains for one of the most magical football stories ever told. With legs like pipe cleaners and a suspect haircut, he appeared as a substitute, showed that crisp first touch and played one of those reverse passes through to Nuge from the right side. Then came the assists and through passes to Vardy against the likes of Barnsley and Birmingham, the goal at Forest, the bromance with Knockaert, the goal against Blackpool, the goal against Sheff Weds. In those days you may have been lucky enough bump in to the player whilst out and about in town. Then came the great escape season. If memory serves me correctly, he was used carefully by Nige and the coaching staff although his talent was clear for all to see. Neat and tidy on the ball, fast-dazzling feet and deceptive body-feints all contributed towards our great escape. This is the season where he developed the work-ethic and fitness to be a prem player. We all know what happened in 15/16. Riyad had a new mate in town called N'Golo - they won the league together with Vardy and the rest of the Impossibles. I'm absolutely gutted that we won't see Mahrez in a Leicester shirt again. It will be a long summer and I'm clinging on to the hope that our owners and the management can persuade the player to stay. If he is going to move on, I wish him the best of luck and will continue to follow his career with close attention. The lad was pure entertainment...pure theatre, with his nonchalant, effortless swagger. One of a kind. We won't see another Riyad Mahrez - a truly unique footballer. Bring on the Andy King testimonial so we can see Mahrez in a Leicester shirt once again!!! Blue Army!!

It was incredible... very late so most were asleep. The stream/video was dodgy (which is understandable in midflight) and kept freezing, there were patches where i would have nothing but a black screen for 3-5 mins, at one point id nearly given up and another guy came up to me from a few seats back and told me to do a reset and it worked smooth. Its very difficult to celebrate whilst squished in a plane seat

KFS Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 It's been a joy, Riyad. Blackpool, City away, Hull this season, and tearing up the Champions League. Always given us big goals in big occasions. Sadly I think it's right for us to both move on. He's clearly sick of being marked out of the game by two players and he'll go on to reach crazy stat levels if he joins a side that can offer him the time and space that he needs to work his magic. On the other hand, we've become known for our workmanship and team effort and other than showing up for the CL, in the main this season he's been nothing short of lazy and clearly been distracted. He'll always be a legend in my eyes and so glad to have seen him play for my club. Good luck! For us, it's going to need a big shake up this Summer, boys. Strap in...
cheshamfox17 Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 I think for me personally, since I moved away just before the 15/16 season I didn't go to anywhere near as many games as I'd have liked in the title winning season, but I did go to the Swansea home one that Vardy was suspended for. I remember the tension and the nerves going into it and being worried how that game was going to go, then Williams hit Mahrez with the ball and he just fired it into to the bottom corner, you could feel the sigh of relief in the stadium and that's when I really thought the the title was ours It wasn't an amazing goal or anything but just that calmness to take his chance was great
StriderHiryu Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 His goal against Man City away in 2016 was my Mahrez moment. It was also when I truly dared to believe that the impossible was possible. The scenes in the away end during that game were incredible and one of my favourite memories ever, not just from football. What.A.Player. Privileged to have seen him play for us.

Sometimes we forget that football is supposed to be about entertainment and joy. Players like Mahrez and Knockaert remind you of that. It's a shame he's dropped off a cliff this season because he's been brilliant to watch since we signed him.
RonnieTodger Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Yeah has to be the goal at Man City. He just glided past their defence and blasted it in with his right. Joe Hart just stood there looking stunned.
ZeGuy Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 The assist to Vardy against Chelsea. One of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Also Manchester City away (was he man of the match on FT, or people still thought he didn't run enough?).

Mahrez literally planted it on the big bastard's thigh for the goal.
HKFox Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 My moment was united away in the 1-1 game during our title win. Yes there were better moments for mahrez such as spurs + chelsea home, west from and man city away were outstanding. For united away I had to sit with united fans, and to hear united fans watch in amazement at a leicester player was a brilliant feeling. United could not get near him, normally I am at home games watching opposing players saying how good he is, or I get to watch Suarez etc today. To hear United fans saying how good Mahrez is showed how lucky we are with this guy.

Rewatched the highlights and he had one of his best games that day.
Sammy Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Man City away last year and assist for Vardy this stand up, his first touch from every cross field pass is just unbelievable and the number of goals for a winger has been unreal. One moment that still sticks out for me was his first goal at Forest tapping in a rebound after they saved Super kev's penalty. Our end was carnage and I remember looking up and see him trotting over almost confused as to how much it clearly meant to us, that combined with the fact I didn't have a clue who he was at the time makes me laugh looking back.
foxy boxing Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Clearly the goals against Man city and Chelsea. against Man city where he nut megged the defender before giving Hart the eyes was amazing and also turning Aspilicueta inside out before putting it past the goalkeeper.
Lovejoy Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Bit left of field and may sound a bit cringey, but I think my favourite Mahrez moment was his goal vs Watford earlier this month, because deep down I had a feeling at the time that would be the last time I'd see him score in a Leicester shirt. Incredible talent, has been a joy to watch in a Leicester shirt.A player we'll all still talk about in 30 years time.

Wasn't a nutmeg but a step-over that sent Kolarov Demichelis to Tahiti.

Vacamion Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 That pass to Vardy against Man City at home this season genuinely made me cry out involuntarily. It was utter, utter filth. Rarely do footballers of any team make me cry out like that. Aside from that, I always enjoy re-watching his long lobbed ball to Vardy against Liverpool at home to score *that* goal in our title winning season. Of course, everyone raves about the goal, but I've disagreed with people who said it was a hopeful punt upfield by Mahrez. I think he meant to do exactly what he did, and under pressure, too.
foxtillidrop Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 The goal against Chelsea at home was class. He kills a high looping cross from Albrighton..does a skillful dance for a few seconds and then finds the top corner without any backlift...all in front of the kop. An all time classic game at the KP. Jose Mourhino sacked the next morning. Definitely my favourite Mahrez moment.
