My Mahrez moment

To think he's taken an absolute hammering from some on here week in, week out this season. Some even saying we should get rid. Not had his best year but some of the criticism has been a joke.

Supported City since I was 7 and Riyad is the most exciting player I've seen in 25 years. Love the guy. Think some might appreciate him a lot more when he's gone.

The pass to Vardy to put us 3-0 up against Man City this season was the best bit of skill I've ever seen live at a football match.

70 yard pass, on the move, half-volley, wet pitch and an inch perfect through ball.

That was the first one that came to my mind. The best example of his sublime individual skill, unselfishly used for the benefit of the team. It's been a privilege to watch him develop with our club. He was central to our league win. We will miss him, but we can move on without him. I wish him all the best.

Got to be the goal away at City. Remember watching them break up the City attack and Kante carrying it, offload to Mahrez and then watching Mahrez put Otamendi on the deck and cutting in for the shot - it felt like slow motion and I must have shouted "go on, fvcking go on" at least 10 times in that passage of play. Away end lost it.

His first touch for us put George Friend (think his debut was vs Boro) completely on his arse and looked effortless for him. Could tell from then he had the right stuff. Class player and we can only thank him for his excellent service to us as a club.

The way he drops his shoulder slightly before rifling it past Hart at city away is class. The whole goal is ultimate tekkers.

the way he killled 3 villa players in one move.

the flip flap vs stoke

the goals at Watford and palace

the way he let vardy take a pen vs Norwich?

his French accent

i will miss him a lot. Club legend. Hero. Taken some stick this season and mostly rightly so but actually I respect him still for coming out now and saying he wants to go. All the best to him.

thanks Riyad

The goal against Watford away,

I sat there after Spurs and Arsenal drew earlier in the today with the feeling that we were going to win the Premier ****ing League!!

, Mahrez was a huge part of the greatest season in this clubs history. For that I'll always be grateful

Obvious ones are goals v Chelsea (h) Spuds (h) & Man City (a) and his first one away at Forest.

However for me it's 100% his elastico v Stoke (h) to set up Ulloa.

It prompted the following report extract ...

Wollscheid just stood their frozen, eyes cast downward looking like a child inspecting the damage after he’d just pissed himself…

I grew up idolising Ronaldinho. When I saw Mahrez pull off the elastico like he did I couldn't contain myself. Amazing player.

I was flying back to Oz as that game happened (Bastard Sky Moved it!!) and watched on the plane.... surreal in that i was watching Leicester live at 30,000 feet... but even more... like you, that was when i thought... we are going to win the league :)

You must have gone mental - I'd love to see what the other passengers thought!

So many many highlights even when he joined us under NFP at the end of the promotion season.

He has developed incredibly and has such sublime touch, movement and skill - sadly we may never see his kind again in a blue shirt. I genuinely believe that he could grace Barcelona or Madrid and whilst he was not as effective last season he at times was 2 or 3 man marked and clearly was distracted having probably made an emotional decision to stay for a year when he really wanted to move on to become a top level star.

The moments against Stoke, Watford, Man City and Villa will live in the memory but my teenage son and I were marvelling at his touch in warm up against Bournemouth recently when you see the natural talent that cannot be trained!!

Riyad has left us with so may memories and those of my generation and older probably will die happy having witnessed a proper football genius - they are few and far between!!

loved all the attempted overhead kicks lol

in all seriousness, he's scored some magical goals. The one against Blackpool (his first goal for us?) stands out.

Think is first was the forest game Phillips missed pens.

The flip flap  against Stoke.

The goal against Man City away where he absolutely mugged Otamendi.  Also the assist for Vardy's goal against Man City this season.  Oh and simultaneously putting three Villa defenders on their backsides. That Champions League free kick.

In general though, his first touch is consistently the best i have ever seen.

Thank you for being a fox!

Still to this day think this is his best goal for us. Was the moment I realised we had a real player on our hands.

I love the little interchange between Walsh and Pearson at the end of that.

"Not a bad find, eh!"

"Yup, yup!"

This is one of the things I'll miss the most, he's possibly the most naturally gifted player I've seen play for us. When we switch the play from one flank to the other and he's standing on the byline, killing the ball dead instantly with the outside of his boot, ready to take on the full back.

Honestly the best first touch I've seen in a Leicester shirt. Maybe even in the league.

My personal favourite moment which nobody has really mentioned was the third game of 2015/16 when Tottenham had gone ahead with minutes to go. Immediately Riyad conjured up a magical piece of footwork before curling the ball past Hugo Lloris. His celebration through the driving rain, the passion of a lion in his eyes, this is when the boy with a touch of flair turned into a man. Then came the memorable goals against Chelsea, Manchester City and Watford to write his name into Leicester folklore. This season hasn't lived up to expectation, but we can overlook that, for £400,000, his skill, trickery, flair and positive arrogance has made him into one of the greatest Leicester players ever. History will be very kind to the man.

Leicester City gave Riyad the platform, Riyad gave Leicester City the world.
