Juventus having a little slip yesterday and Naopli taking their opportunity makes their game this weekend even bigger. If Napoli can somehow win that then the gap is only 1 point with Juve still to face Inter and Roma away from home.

Magdeburg promoted to the 2. Bundesliga.

 

One of the most successful football clubs in Eastern Germany, UEFA Cup winners in 1974, they are/were the only big club from the east - apart from BFC Dynamo - that has failed to make an impact in pro football following the German Reunion in 1989.

 

Lovely stadium they have there, holds 25'000 people:

Congratulations to Nîmes Olympique who secured promotion to Ligue 1 with a 4-0 home win against Gazélec Ajaccio yesterday, ending a 25-year long absence from the top flight.

Btw, Nîmes are Eric Cantona's former club, before he joined Leeds.

 

Final match of the season will be away at champions Reims next Friday.

Last day in the Bundesliga. Hamburg currently doing their usual trick of shithousing their way out of automatic relegation on the last day.

 

Edit: Maybe not, Gladbach have just scored.

HSV pretty much relegated, 2-1 up against Mönchengladbach, but now down to ten men, and Wolfsburg lead 3-1.

scenes in Hamburg. Smoke bombs let off. Stewards and security on the pitch with only seconds to go.

Ref wants to finish the game though for those final seconds lol 

 

The smoke bombs have been cleared up and that's an earlier snapshot of what happened .

Game still officially going on. Cops off the pitch and heading into the Hamburg end. Bloke on the pitch with a funeral wreath getting escorted off. lol
