The OH Leuven Thread

Correct

...just goes to show what you can do with the right man in the right place!!!

They looked surprisingly good in their encounter with OHL, and they are going from strength to strength. I can't see us getting a manager from the UK going over there and we need to find someone with the knowledge of the Belgian leagues in order to stop the derailment that has ensued.

Hopefully just a blip. Gotta dig your heals in and get on with it. Clearly a good enough team to win promotion.

...not after that display!!!

There was just no belief or understanding out there on the pitch and this is not just a blip. I can not see them coming back from this, Roeselare were the bottom team and they looked so much better, confident, organised and seem to believe they could score at will.Just looking at the defence, no one seem to know what their role was, no one picking up and we were being passed to death by straightforward play, it did not need anything special to beat us.

We need to sort out the Managers role immediately, to get back the belief that once flowed in this team. It is not enough to have these players at the club, they are no good unless we can shape them into a team and at present their mentality is nowhere near what  it should be!!!!

Didn't realise Roeselare had 2 points from 9 games. That is a shocker.

2 points in 9 games, but also only 4 goals made in those 9 games and 24 goals consided.

Yet we manage to allow 3 goals (in the first 30 minutes) and it could have been a lot more with all the chances they created.

Since Vercauteren left for Anderlecht, our team is completly unrecognizable. Let's hope we can turn this bad spell around, but I'm afraid Euvrard isn't up to the task without his mentor.

PEARSON OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, this henchman that Vercauteren left behind, might actually be worse than Pearson. What. The. Actual. ****. And here i was, thinking that wasn't possible.

They royally screwed us over. I don't know if you remember my posts from last year, but this was EXACTLY what i was afraid would happen, because Vercauteren, while a great coach, isn't one to stay at the same club for long. And with them "partnering" as managers, when he left, we'd be stuck with his errand boy.

On the other hand, the club has made some stupid mistakes as well. In our entire squad, there is not one player that can take out a defender one on one with an acceleration or a dribble. Well, there is one, but for some reason he's not getting his shot after coming back from injury. This summer was a missed opportunity in that regard. We are playing with a CAM and a CM on the wings. Haha. That's gonna end well. The manager is now playing with a poacher in the front. A guy who does literally nothing for 90 minutes, but hopes the ball drops in front of him at the right time to score. But without actual wingers, and with center midfield overpopulated, he's not seeing any of that. Oh, well, the "new" manager just subs him off after 30 minutes, trailing 3-0, problem solved.

So, it's clear this guy is out of his depth, that the players don't trust or belief in him, and instead of being 4 points ahead, we are now trailing 2 and are again in crisis, having lost to two of the three weakest teams. This weekend, we face the third of those three. Lose (or draw) and we can officially kiss the first chance for promotion goodbye. I can only hope they don't wait as long as they did with Pearson to throw him out. Who is this guy anyway, nobody asked for him, but all of a sudden he's managing our club. His brother played a few games for us in 2010, he didn't last very long either.

Hopefully back to top spot again?

Together with Westerlo, whom we'll face next week at home.

It was a much better game from us than the past two games. We missed a lot of chances (could have score in the first minute, and then twice in the following minutes... eventually only score late in the game), but at least we created lots of them, unlike last week. On the other hand, we also gave away quite a bit of chances, but Lommel also missed them. We created more and better chances, possession was for Lommel.

If you could post the highlights, like someone does that would be great. I tried looking but could only find the score.

They only publish those around midnight usually. But i'm sure Bonanza will be on it.

If yourselves and Westerlo are equal on points come the end of this part what happens?

In that case the period will be decided by:

1. Most wins

2. Goal difference

3. Most goals scored

4. Most goals scored in away games

5. Most wins in away games

If both teams are still level after all of these criteria, they will play 1 game (including extra-time and penalties if the score is tied after 90 minutes) to decide who wins the 1st period.

Why is the league split into two periods?

Because Belgian pro football is bursting with incompetent fools, each with their own agenda (tied to club x or y). Two periods means two chances to compete for promotion. Even if overall your team was only 3rd or 4th.
