Can't find any info online, and this is the only place I know where people exist who are aware of belgian football!

Popular Post Lizhang Posted 25 October 2019 Popular Post Posted 25 October 2019 Good day for Leicester and Leuven! We won 2-1 at home against our closest rival. Very deserved victory, especially since Westerlo only scored from a 30yard missile that found our goalkeeper asleep, and didn't have any real chances other than that. While OHL had many chances for 3-1 but failed to convert a few sitters. To top it off, the referee thought it was a good idea to send off Keita for a fault that didn't deserve anything more than yellow. To show you how cynical Belgian media are, concerning our second division: Tonight in the only tv-show about football, no word about OHL-Westerlo, a game that will have a huge impact on who will take the first period (and his place in the final for promotion) between the numbers one and two. Not. One. Word. However, featured in the same show: Leicester City wins in the EPL. 11

elvisfmcfly Posted 27 October 2019 Posted 27 October 2019 So if you win one of the next 2 games you should qualify to play whoever wins the 2nd half of the league Unless you win it again of course?

Only if we win next week against Union and Westerlo loses or draws and Virton loses, we win the 1st period and are qualified for the final. If we would win both periods, we are the champions and would gain automatical promotion to the 1st division. 3
Popular Post Foxxed Posted 27 October 2019 Popular Post Posted 27 October 2019 I really hope you get promoted so we don't have the suffer the explanation how your league works every year only to be bemused by it then forget it and then ask again next year. I really hope your first division is more sensible and if it's not have you considered Rugby instead. 1 14

Oh, but that had nothing to do with it. They will (and no, this is not a joke) feature relegation games from the Bundesliga, as long as there is a Belgian involved (even if he's on the bench, or a spectator picking his nose on camera) and completely ignore the Belgian 2nd division at the same time. 2 1
Frost Posted 1 November 2019 Posted 1 November 2019 (edited) Err...so Leuven were playing against St. Gilloise and the game was called off at 0-0 due to constant power cuts. The floodlights couldn't stay on so it was abandoned in the 52nd minute from what I've read. Very weird. Not sure if the game will be rearranged or whether Leuven will forfeit the match? I've seen both options posted online. Edited 1 November 2019 by Frost

Otherwise we lose this game by forfeit.

Apparently there have been several blackouts near our stadium today, so let's hope this was the reason why the floodlights kept failing.
Lizhang Posted 2 November 2019 Posted 2 November 2019 (edited) ATM it looks like it wasn't the clubs fault. So this may have been a blessing in disguise, because though it was still 0-0, OHL was second best. Edited 2 November 2019 by Lizhang typo 3
Lizhang Posted 3 November 2019 Posted 3 November 2019 Looking at the rulebook, it turns out, the pitch on average only needs 800 lux to comply. And no part of the pitch should be darker than 75% of that amount (meaning 600 lux). OHL 's lighting setup can generate up to 1400 lux (nearly double of what is required). If one part of the pitch is not lit directly, it is still nearly a certainty that that part of the pitch still reveived 600 lux at minimum, and that the referee had no cause to cut the game short.

Lambert09 Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 So does the team that wins this part just piss about until the play-offs? Is there anything else left to gain?
