Seems that this is coming back to light in the wake of Ron-Robert Zieler's imminent departure to Stuttgart for 4 million Euros. Sources from Leicester Mercury and Hull daily mail below:

Sounds sensible enough. :trumpet:

Now RRZ has gone, is this back on again?  :D

I would assume the main reason we didn't step up our interest is that Zieler was still on our books so we didn't want too many keepers in case Zieler didn't leave.

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare wants to bring in Hull City goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, 32, as a replacement for Ron-Robert Zieler, 28, who has joined Stuttgart. (Hull Daily Mail)

This would be great - I actually rate this fella but I'd be surprised he would want to be a no.2 but hey ho!

Who was the other younger GK from Belgium or somewhere that we were linked with? I think via twitter very very tall lad...?

Was it Hubert from Standard or was that a historical link from last window?

Thanks - couldn't for the life of me remember!

I quite liked the idea of a young understudy or even buying him and loaning him out for when Kasper cashes in and moves on.

At 32,and a double your money offer, for a keeper who's made only 52 appearances in 4 years,I recon he'll be relatively happy with the move, any 2nd choice keeper that thinks they will walk into the team would be kidding themselves

Jak isn't really undisputed first choice at Hull anyway, they have about 4 keepers of a similar standard and need to offload one or two, whoever gets bidded on.

of all their keepers Jak has PL experience and has a great personality so would be our preference

I'd tell them to swivel.

If they pay a little bit more over, say, three years rather than £2m upfront, it wouldn't be that much of a ballbreaker.

Let's face it, we want our owners to play hardball to get the most for our players.

Jakupovic deal has been delayed because Hull want more money than they initially indicated. I reckon it will happen but with maybe payments for the higher fee staggered.

I think clubs shouldn't do that, they should stick to their word. Where is the honour, honesty and integrity in football these days ?

:D
