It takes 80 minutes to walk from A-B, 80 minutes to walk from B-C and 1 hour 20 minutes from C-A.

Why does it take 1 hour 20 minutes to walk from C-A if the distances between each point are the same and you are travelling at the same speed?

(an easy one to get started, its taken people ages to work this out lol, I will give it 4 minutes in this thread)

80 mins = 1 hr 20 mins

What four letter word can be written forward, backward or upside down, and can still be read from left to right?

Different kind of riddle but this did the rounds earlier in the year and created much discussion:

A guy walks into a store and steals a $100 bill from the register without the owner's knowledge.
He then buys $70 worth of goods using the $100 bill and the owner give $30 in change.

How much money did the owner lose ?

It seemed pretty simple to me til I was aware of the discussions. Seems to rely on what assumptions you make.

Not sure whether you mean the owner gives or is given

$30 in change but if so then he's lost $99,999,999,970

The owner loses $30 in cash plus the value of the goods (nominally $70); since there will have been a mark up on what the owner paid for the goods, the value of the goods will have been less $70 (unless of course it was a 'loss leader', in which case it could be more).

$200, ignoring the shop keepers mark up.
